Chapter 1: Introduction

Ethan stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling mirror, adjusting his form as he lifted a heavy barbell over his head. His muscles tensed and relaxed in perfect syncopation, a rhythm he had perfected over years of discipline and dedication. The gym was his sanctuary, his temple of iron and sweat, a place where he could push himself to the limit and emerge stronger, faster, better.

As he lowered the barbell, he caught a glimpse of a figure in the mirror, standing awkwardly at the edge of the free weights section.

It was a short, round fat guy whose butt was shockingly huge and whose dress pants were pulled up over his belly, giving him a double belly. Ethan rolled his eyes, his initial impression not a positive one. He saw this type all too often—men who thought signing up for a gym membership was enough, without putting in the actual work.

"Can I help you with something?" Ethan asked, turning to face the man, his tone neutral yet faintly disapproving. The man flushed a deeper shade of red, his ears turning bright pink. "I-I'm new here," he stuttered, looking down at his feet. "I was told I could find a personal trainer named Ethan?"

Ethan's eyebrows raised slightly. "That's me. You're Sam, right?" He extended a hand, which Sam hesitantly shook, his palm sweaty.

"Sorry about my appearance," Sam muttered, running a hand over his round belly. "I know I'm a bit... overwhelming right now, but I'm here to change that." Ethan's grip tightened slightly, a hint of surprise flickering across his face. He wasn't expecting Sam to be so forthcoming about his self-consciousness. "Don't worry about it, Sam," Ethan replied, his voice softening. "Everyone starts somewhere. We'll get you where you want to be."

Sam let out a relieved breath, his shoulders relaxing slightly. "Thanks, Ethan. I really appreciate it."

Ethan nodded, scanning Sam's body, assessing the task ahead. "Alright, let's start with the basics. Have you worked out before?"

Sam shook his head, his double chin wobbling slightly. "Not really.

I mean, I actually... I used to be naturally fit. In high school. Lots of people had crushes on me," Sam admitted, his voice almost a whisper.

Ethan raised an eyebrow, genuinely surprised. Before he could respond, a group of hot guys hanging around the nearby squat rack overheard Sam and burst into laughter. "You?" one of them scoffed, looking Sam up and down. "You were fit? Must have been a different universe."

"Yeah, dude, you're like the fat nerdy version of yourself now," another chimed in, his eyes flicking to Ethan with a smirk. Ethan felt his jaw clench, his professional demeanor threatened by the disrespect.

Sam's face turned a deeper shade of red, his humiliation palpable. Ethan interjected, "Hey, that's enough," his voice stern.

Sam looked away, embarrassed, his hands fidgeting with the drawstring of his gym shorts. The laughter ceased abruptly, the group of hot guys exchanging uneasy glances.

Ethan turned back to Sam, his expression softening. "Don't let them get to you, Sam. They're just jerks trying to make themselves feel better. You're here to work on yourself, and that's something to be proud of."

Sam nodded, but the humiliation still burned in his cheeks. He looked down at his feet, avoiding the mirror and the smirking faces around him. Ethan felt a surge of protectiveness, a strange mix of empathy and something else he couldn't quite place.

"Alright, let's focus on you," Ethan said, guiding Sam towards the treadmill, a safe distance from the hot guys.

Sam hesitated, his eyes lingering on his reflection in the mirror, his large bubble butt prominent in his gym shorts. "I'm sorry, Ethan," he muttered, his voice barely audible. "I know I'm a mess. I should have... I don't know, worn something else."

Ethan's brow furrowed slightly, his gaze following Sam's as he looked at his reflection. "Your appearance doesn't define you, Sam," he said firmly, his voice steady and reassuring. "And you're here to change that. Let's start with something simple, alright?"

He helped Sam onto the treadmill, setting it to a slow pace. Sam gripped the handrails, his knuckles white as he tentatively placed one foot in front of the other. The treadmill hummed softly, the slow pace a stark contrast to the intense workouts happening around them.

Ethan adjusted the speed, nudging it up slightly, enough to challenge Sam but not overwhelm him. Sam's grip tightened on the handrails, his eyes wide with apprehension. "It's okay, Sam," Ethan reassured him, his voice gentle yet firm. "You're doing great. This is just the beginning."

Sam's breath hitched as the treadmill sped up, his round belly jiggling slightly with each tentative step. He looked down at his feet, his expression a mix of concentration and discomfort. Ethan watched him closely, his gaze lingering on Sam's form, assessing his movements and tracking his progress.

As Sam continued to walk, Ethan noticed a subtle change in his own body. A heat began to pool in his lower abdomen, a response he hadn't anticipated.

Ethan's eyes lingered on Sam's butt, the way it jiggled with each step, round and firm despite Sam's overall size. He swiftly looked away, his professional demeanor returning like a shield.

"Great work, Sam," he said, a hint of roughness in his voice. "Let's call it a day on the treadmill. How about we move on to some light weights?"

Sam, oblivious to Ethan's sudden discomfort, nodded eagerly, stepping off the treadmill. "Sure thing, Ethan. I'm not too tired yet."

Ethan led him to a quieter area of the gym, away from the prying eyes of the hot guys. As they passed the free weights, he caught one of them winking at him, a smirk playing on his lips.

Ethan ignored him, focusing on Sam. "So, what do you usually do for your workouts?" Sam asked, rubbing his hands on his gym shorts, the material doing little to hide his nervousness. Ethan nodded, appreciating Sam's initiative. "Well, Sam, it's different for everyone. But in your case, we'll want to focus on a mix of cardio and strength training. The goal is to build muscle and burn fat, right?" Sam nodded eagerly, his eyes fixed on Ethan's chiseled physique, a hint of longing in his gaze. "Yeah, that's what I want." Ethan guided him to a wall where a row of resistance bands hung. "Let's start with these.
