Chapter 4: The First Dose
The cheap ballpoint scratched across the flimsy paper. Grey’s hoof, guided by Jeff’s immense paw, formed the shaky loops of his name. Grey. It felt alien, a signature on his own dissolution. As the final mark was made, Jeff released his hand with a satisfied grunt, snatching the paper away before the ink could dry on Grey’s fur.
"Atta boy," Jeff rumbled, folding the contract with deliberate care and tucking it into a pocket on his flannel pajama bottoms. The casualness was horrifying. "Now for the seal."
He reached past Grey, fumbling on the cluttered crate that served as a nightstand. Grey flinched, squeezing his eyes shut, the cold dread solidifying in his chest. He heard the rattle of metal, the clinking of small components. When he dared to look, Jeff held a small, intricate device in his massive paw. It was cold-forged steel, gleaming dully in the flickering lamplight – a cage. Tiny, designed for minimal endowment. Cruelly small. Jeff turned it over, examining it like a mechanic checking a part.
"Little guy's gonna get real cozy in here," Jeff said, his tone almost conversational. He tapped the cold metal against Grey's trembling thigh. "Real permanent-like. Only comin' off when I fancy a look, or need you squeaky clean after service. Otherwise?" He grinned, showing sharp teeth. "Nothin'. Forget it exists. Might even shrink it down a touch more, just for kicks." He chuckled at Grey’s sharp intake of breath. "Yeah, Bambi. Gonna match that useless attitude."
A fresh wave of panic surged through Grey, colder than the shackle metal on his ankles. He instinctively curled in on himself, pulling against the restraints. "Don't—" he choked out, the defiance utterly broken, replaced by raw, humiliating terror. "Jeff, please..."
"Please what?" Jeff asked mildly, leaning closer. The scent of musk and stale beer washed over Grey. "Please lock up what’s mine? Already planned on it." His huge paws descended, effortlessly parting Grey’s legs despite his weak struggle. One paw pinned Grey’s narrow hips to the mattress with crushing weight. The cold metal touched Grey’s exposed flesh – shockingly frigid against the heat and lingering soreness. Grey gasped, a strangled sound.
Jeff worked with surprising dexterity despite his size. He manipulated Grey’s small, painfully hard cock with a detached efficiency. Positioning. Adjusting. The cold ring encircled the base. Grey whimpered, the sound high and desperate, echoing faintly in the cavernous room. The taxidermied polar bear head on the wall seemed to leer down.
Then came the click.
Sharp. Metallic. Final.
It wasn't loud, yet it reverberated in Grey's skull like a gunshot. It wasn't painful, but it felt like a guillotine blade dropping onto the core of his identity, his already fragile masculinity. The cold steel pressed intimately against him, a constant, unyielding reminder of his utter lack of control, of ownership. He went utterly still, breath hitching in ragged gasps. His hazel eyes, wide with disbelief and horror, stared down at the obscene little cage locked around him.
Jeff patted it, the sound a dull tink. "There we go. Nice and snug." He leaned back, surveying his work with a critical eye. "Yep. Suits you. Looks... proper." He unlocked the shackles on Grey’s hooves with a few efficient movements. The sudden release barely registered. Grey just lay there, trembling, unable to look away from the cold metal encircling him.
"Rules, pet," Jeff said, his voice losing its light tone, turning businesslike. He pulled a small, unmarked pill bottle and a childproof blister pack of tiny white tablets from the same crate. He shook a single pill from the bottle onto his palm – a small, pale blue oval. "Morning vitamins. Every day. With breakfast." He held it up. "Estrogen. Gonna smooth you out. Soften that fur, maybe plump up those moobs into somethin' more respectable." He gave Grey’s soft chest a rough, proprietary squeeze. "Turn you into the pretty little doe you always pretended not to be in that bar."
He popped the blue pill into Grey’s slack mouth before the deer could react. The taste was bitter chalk. Grey instinctively tried to spit it out, gagging.
"Swallow," Jeff commanded, his voice low and dangerous. He clamped a huge paw over Grey’s muzzle, forcing his jaw shut. "Don't make me get water." Grey choked, tears finally spilling over, hot tracks through his fur. He swallowed convulsively, the pill scraping down his throat.
"Good," Jeff said, releasing him. He tapped the blister pack. "And these? Finasteride. Keep that ridiculous little antler fuzz you got goin' on from ever turnin' into somethin' dangerous again. We like you smooth and soft." He tossed both containers onto the pillow beside Grey’s head. The crinkly sound of the plastic pack was obscenely loud.
Jeff heaved himself off the bed with a groan. "Collar’s next. Ordered it special. Should be here tomorrow." He stretched, his massive frame seeming to fill the room. "Get some sleep. You look like something the cat dragged in and pissed on. Busy day tomorrow." He gestured vaguely around the room. "Gotta start earnin' your keep. Cleanin'. Cookin'. Personal service." His gaze lingered pointedly on the steel cage. "All the fun stuff."
He lumbered towards the door, pausing only to switch off the flickering lamp, plunging the room into near-total darkness. Only a sliver of light from the hallway framed his immense silhouette. "Remember, Bambi," he added, his voice a low growl from the doorway. "That cage? The pills? That contract? That's your life now. Get used to the view."
The heavy bedroom door clicked shut. Then came the distinct, chilling sound of a key turning in the lock.
Grey lay frozen in the suffocating dark. The cold metal bit into his flesh. The bitter taste of the pill coated his tongue. The phantom ache of his sawn-off antlers throbbed dully. The silence pressed in, broken only by his own shaky, hitching breaths. He stared into the blackness where the mounted polar bear head loomed, unseen but felt. He was locked in. Locked down. Owned. The contract wasn't just paper. The cage wasn't just metal. It was him. Reduced. Contained. Jeff’s new pet. He curled into a tight ball, burying his face in the sour-smelling duvet, the tiny, cold steel cage pressing uncomfortably against his thigh. The pills on the pillow beside him seemed to radiate their own cold promise of transformation. There was no fight left. Only the hollow, echoing click of the lock, sealing him inside his new, shrunken world.
