Chapter 2: Building Tension
That morning, I prepared for my journey to the Northern Kingdom.
My heart pounded with a mix of anxiety and determination as I stepped into the carriage, the wheels creaking beneath me as we began our journey. The landscape passed by in a blur - lush green forests giving way to rugged mountains, then finally the sprawling marble and stone towers of the Northern Kingdom's Royal Palace.
Upon my arrival, I was greeted by the Royal Chamberlain, who led me through the grand halls and opulent chambers adorned with gold and jewels. The air was thick with the scent of sandalwood and the faint hum of distant conversations. I felt a strange mix of awe and unease, my heart pounding like a war drum in my chest.
Finally, we reached Rara Ratri's private chambers. The door swung open, revealing a room bathed in the soft glow of candlelight. The queen stood by the window, her back to me, the black kebaya with silver embellishments hugging her slender frame. Her physique was that of an athlete, toned and lithe, a stark contrast to my more mature, well-proportioned figure. As I entered, she turned to face me, her eyes gleaming like cold steel under the candlelight.
@Your Majesty
"Welcome, Your Majesty" she said, her voice a low purr, her lips curling into a smirk. "I've been expecting you."
My eyes swept over her, taking in every detail - the way her kebaya clung to her body, accentuating her narrow waist and full breasts, the slight sheen of sweat on her skin, the faint pulse at the base of her throat. I felt a strange heat spread through me, a mixture of anger and something else, something darker and more primal.
She walked towards me, her hips swaying slightly, her eyes never leaving mine. "You look tense, Your Majesty, something troubling you?"
