Chapter 3: The Confession
Miles Draven sat in his car, his heart pounding in his chest as he stared at the flash drive in his hand. He drives back to his office and opens up his laptop and then plugs in the flash drive to view the video footage
on the flash drive.
His eyes widened as he watched the video of Ronnie and Donnie Coleman kissing and making out with each other as they both striped down completely naked. Miles felt a jolt of confusion and disbelief as he realized that the Coleman Twins, who were known for their fitness credentials and strong masculinity, were secretly in a same-sex relationship or just having a gay affair
. This revelation was far from what he expected and added a new layer to the case he was working on.
As he watched the video, Miles couldn't help but feel a sense of intrusion on the private lives of the Coleman Twins. He paused the video. He knew that the tabloids would have a field day with this video if it were leaked to the public. But he also knew that outing the twins could put them in grave danger, both personally and professionally. So then Miles texts Ronnie and says

"Hey, I got something important I want to discuss with you. Let's meet somewhere private and discreet."
Ronnie responds, "Meet me at our private gym at 10 pm tonight. We need to talk."
Miles agrees and arrives at the private gym promptly at 10 pm. The gym is dark and quiet, save for the sound of Miles' footsteps as he approaches the office where Ronnie and Donnie are waiting for him. Miles can feel his heart racing as he approaches the door, wondering what kind of reception he'll receive.
As he enters the office, he sees Ronnie and Donnie sitting at a desk, both of them looking tense and anxious. Miles closes the door behind him, turning to face the twins.
"I have the video, and I know everything," Miles says, his voice hard.
Ronnie and Donnie exchange a quick glance, before Donnie speaks up. "We know. We made a mistake, and we can explain."
Miles raises an eyebrow. "Why don't we skip the excuses and get to the truth?
I've seen enough to know what's going on here," Miles replies, his voice laced with a hint of frustration.
Ronnie nods, a resigned look on his face. "Fine. We were in a private relationship on and off for over twelve years. It started back when we were in college, and it continued on and off after we both married to our wives.
But it ended two years ago. We wanted to keep it a secret because we were afraid of damaging our reputations and losing our business. Our wives can never know about this If they ever found out about us they would never forgive us." Donnie says
, looking down at his hands and fidgeting with a pen on the desk.
Miles leaned back in his chair and studied the twins. He knew that keeping secrets like this could be dangerous, especially when the truth had the potential to destroy lives and businesses.
"Look, I understand that this is personal," Miles said, choosing his words carefully. "But this video could be harmful to your reputations and your business if it were to get out. This is the only copy
and I have destroyed all traces of this video, I cannot allow it to fall into someone else's hands." Miles said with a sense of urgency.
Ronnie and Donnie nodded, and Donnie said, "We understand. We didn't realize the gravity of our mistake until now. Can we trust you not to use this against us?"
Miles looked at them scrutinizingly, before leaning forward and saying, "I am a man of my word, once it is between us, it will stay between us. But I do have to tell you that John James does know about this video
and he wants to use it for his own gain."
Ronnie and Donnie looked at each other, stunned and horrified. Donnie asked, his voice trembling. "Does John James have the video footage."
Then Miles says "No he doesn't. I've already destroyed the only copy that existed. He does know that it exists, but now it can never be used against you. I found out who was working with John James and I convinced them to give me the flash drive. Now, I have conserved the video; It's our little secret." Miles says with a helpful smile, hoping his words would ease Ronnie and Donnie's minds.
"But what do you want in return for helping us?" Ronnie asks, still looking wary.
"I don't want anything from you. I just can't stand to see innocent people like yourself get hurt. I think it's best if we simply move forward and put this behind us."
Ronnie and Donnie exchange glances, both looking relieved and grateful.
Then Donnie says "Then we will at least double your fee to 20k for your amazing detective work."
Then Miles says "Thank you but this isn't over yet. We still need to take down John James.
He's the one pulling the strings, and I'm afraid he is not going to stop until he takes down you and your business," Miles replied, his voice still firm.
Ronnie nodded, looking concerned. "What do you suggest we do? We can't just stand by and let him destroy everything we've worked so hard for."
"We need to gather evidence of his involvement in this scheme. We need to catch him in the act, so to speak. And I know just how to do it," Miles said, a sly smile creeping across his face.
"John James seems to be a man who craves power and control, and nothing gives him more satisfaction than knowing he has the upper hand. So, let's turn the tables on him."
Ronnie and Donnie looked at each other, unsure of what Miles meant. But Miles wasted no time explaining.
"I want you to set up a meeting with John James under the pretext of discussing a business deal.
But instead, we will secretly record the entire conversation," Miles explained. He reached into his bag and pulled out a small recording device, holding it up for the Coleman twins to see. "This thing will capture it all. Once we have enough evidence of his involvement, we can take him down and clear your names."
Donnie looked at Ronnie, both of them unsure of what to do. The idea of potentially setting up a business rival and possibly even their closest friend was a difficult pill to swallow.
But Miles' confidence, and the hope of finally bringing an end to this situation, bolstered Ronnie and Donnie's spirits. They agreed to set up a meeting with John James and place the recorder as discussed.
Days turned into weeks, as Ronnie and Donnie successfully managed to convince John James to discuss a potential business opportunity over drinks at a secluded lounge. Miles had been keeping a close eye on both parties and all signs pointed to John James taking the bait. The plan was set in motion.
