Chapter 1: Opening Image

The lecture hall was filled with the usual hum of chatter as students filed in, but I barely noticed. I had my eyes on the prize, and it was not the lecture notes or the PowerPoint slides. No, it was a pair of perfectly rounded globes, encased in dark denim, that were currently perched on the edge of the professor's desk.

Dr. Davidson was a bit of a legend around campus, known for his wit, his knowledge, and his ability to make even the most boring of subjects seem interesting. But to me, he was so much more than that.

I found myself constantly drawn to the way he moved, the way he carried himself with such confidence and ease. And today, as he stood before the class in a crisp white shirt and a pair of white khakis that hugged his frame just right, I couldn't help but wonder if he knew the effect he had on me.

He turned to write something on the board, and I saw it—the slight pudge that had started to develop over the last few months. It was subtle, but it was there, and it made him all the more human to me. I felt a pang of affection, and a strange sense of protectiveness. I wanted to know him, truly know him, not just as the brilliant professor, but as a person. And I realized, with a start, that I was falling for him.

Not just his mind, but his body too. That little extra weight around his middle had gone straight to his ass, and I couldn't stop thinking about it. It was like he had these perfect, round, squeezable cheeks, and I just wanted to—

I shook my head, trying to dislodge the thought. What was I doing? This was my professor, for crying out loud. I couldn't just ogle his ass like some sort of creep.

Dr. Davidson turned around at that moment, catching me off guard. "Alex," he said, a smile playing at the corners of his mouth. "You look like you're about to explode with a question."

I felt my face flush. "Oh, uh, no, I was just—just thinking about something else," I stammered, quickly grabbing my notebook and flipping it open to a blank page.

Dr. Davidson turned back to the board, his blue eyes scanning the lines of his lecture notes before he started writing again. "As I was saying," he continued, his voice projecting effortlessly throughout the room, "the main themes of the Romantic era were—what? Alex?"

I looked up, startled by his sudden attention. "Sorry, I zoned out for a second. What were you saying?" I asked, feeling a fresh wave of embarrassment wash over me.

He raised an eyebrow, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "I was just about to say that the main themes of the Romantic era were—" he paused, glancing back at his notes before continuing, "—nature, emotion, and the supernatural.

But perhaps, Alex, you'd like to share your thoughts on that?" Dr. Davidson's eyes lingered on me a moment too long, a small smile playing on his lips.

I shifted in my seat, feeling a strange mix of discomfort and excitement churn in my stomach. "Uh, well, I—I guess I think that the Romantics were really interested in the individual's experience and feelings, right? Like, they wanted to break away from the rigid rules and structures of the past and just, you know, feel things." I stumbled over my words, acutely aware of his gaze still trained on me.

He nodded, his eyes flickering with something I couldn't quite place. "That's a good start, Alex. But let's explore that a bit more.
