Mr. G is approach by three of his former students, Ava B., Alexa A., and Klara D. They tell him they have been arguing about who is better at anal sex. They tell him he is one of the only honest, neutral people they know and ask him to be the judge.

Chapter 1: Introduction

The sun was dipping below the horizon, casting long shadows across the quiet suburban street. "Mr. G" was just settling into his favorite armchair, a well-worn copy of "The History of Sexuality" by Michel Foucault open on his lap. The steady hum of the evening was disrupted by the soft chime of his doorbell. He raised an eyebrow, setting his book down. Retirement had brought an unpredictable rhythm to his life, and he had learned to embrace the unexpected.

He shuffled across the hardwood floor, the planks creaking softly under his weight. Through the frosted glass pane of the door, he could make out three figures, their silhouettes lit from behind by the glow of the setting sun.

He opened the door to find three young women standing on his porch, under the soft glow of the porch light. The tallest of the three, a blonde with vivid blue eyes and a laugh that seemed to dance on the air, was the first to speak. "Mr. G, right?"

'We were students of yours, remember? Ava, Alexa, and Klara?" The blonde, Klara, extended a hand, her eyes sparkling with a mix of familiarity and mischief.

Mr. G blinked, taken aback. He hadn't expected to see any of his former students standing on his porch, especially not after hours. He shook his head, humor flickering in his eyes. "Ah, yes. Alexa, you're the one who always had a smart remark waiting in the wings, aren't you?"

Alexa grinned, her light brown hair swept over one shoulder. "Guilty as charged, Mr. G.

"And you remember Ava, the one who always kept her cool and had a knack for cutting through the bullshit?"

Mr. G nodded, noticing the dark-haired Ava shift slightly, her eyes taking in the details of his home. "And Klara, always full of life and energy, even in your teens."

Klara beamed, pushing her sunglasses up to her head, revealing eyes that danced with curiosity. "That's me. We hope you don't mind us dropping by like this, but we were in the neighborhood and we had a bit of a...

situation." Alexa finished, her eyebrows raised playfully.

Mr. G arched an eyebrow, intrigued by their cryptic introduction. "Well, girls, come in, come in. Let's not stand out here on the porch all night." He stepped back, allowing them to enter his cozy home.

The scent of freshly brewed coffee filled the air as Mr. G led them to the living room. The space was a testament to his love for reading, with bookshelves lining the walls, their spines a colorful mosaic against the soft cream paint.

Ava ran her fingers along the spine of a book, her eyes scanning the titles. "You still have quite the collection, Mr. G."

He chuckled, setting a kettle on the stove. "Old habits die hard, Ava. Would you girls like some coffee or tea?"

Alexa leaned against the arm of the couch, her eyes skimming over the titles. "Coffee, please. Black, no sugar."

Klara flopped onto the couch, crossing her legs. "Tea for me, please. Anything herbal."

Ava remained standing, her gaze thoughtful.

"I'll have tea as well, please. Chamomile if you have it."

Mr. G nodded, turning back to the stove. "Chamomile it is. So, what brings you three to my doorstep after dark? You mentioned a situation?"

Alexa's gaze flicked to Ava, a silent conversation passing between them. Ava gave a slight nod, and Alexa turned back to Mr. G, her expression serious. "We're in a bit of a pickle, Mr. G. We've been approached by a publisher, and they're interested in a...

rather unusual project." Alexa paused, her eyes twinkling with amusement as she gauged Mr. G's reaction.

Mr. G turned from the stove, his eyebrows raised. "Unusual, you say?" He poured the boiling water into three mugs, the scent of herbs and coffee filling the room. "And what kind of project are we talking about, Alexa?"

Ava stepped forward, her dark eyes meeting Mr. G's gaze. "It's a book, Mr. G. A very specific kind of book.

They want a comprehensive guide to modern intimacy, written from the perspective of three young women. The publisher thinks it could be a bestseller, a fresh take on an age-old topic. But..." Ava paused, her lips curving slightly. "There's a catch. They want someone with experience, a mentor if you will, to help us navigate the project. Someone who can provide guidance, perspective, and, well, ensure we don't screw it up."

Mr. G took a moment to absorb the information, his mind racing with questions. He handed each of them their respective drinks, his eyes lingering on their faces.

They seemed sincere, but the topic was far from anything he'd ever expected to discuss with his former students.

"You want me to be your mentor for a book about modern intimacy?" Mr. G confirmed, his voice steady despite the whirlwind of thoughts in his head.

Klara nodded enthusiastically, her blue eyes bright. "Exactly! You were always our favorite teacher, Mr. G. Your classes were always so... engaging. We thought, who better to guide us through this project?"

Alexa chimed in, "Besides, you always said that history is just one big story of human interactions, right?

This is just a different kind of history, Mr. G."

Mr. G took a sip of his coffee, the warmth of the liquid grounding him. He hadn't been expecting this kind of challenge in retirement, but he had to admit, the idea was intriguing. "I see. And what kind of guidance are you expecting from me? I'm a history teacher, not a sex therapist."

Ava's eyes softened, her voice taking on a more serious tone. "We're not looking for a therapist, Mr. G. We want a mentor, someone who can help us approach this topic with nuance and depth.

We trust your judgment, Mr. G. You've always had a way of making complex topics accessible and engaging." Ava's words hung in the air, a plea wrapped in a compliment.

Mr. G leaned back in his chair, the leather creaking softly under his weight. He studied the three young women, their faces a mix of determination and vulnerability. He remembered the passionate debates in his classroom, the eagerness with which they'd approached new ideas, and the respect they'd had for each other's perspectives.

"I appreciate your trust, Ava.

But this is quite the shift from Ancient Rome to... modern intimacy. Are you certain this is something you three are comfortable with? It's a significant undertaking, both personally and professionally." Mr. G's voice was measured, his eyes scrutinizing each of their faces in turn.

Alexa took a sip of her coffee, her grin never leaving her face. "We're comfortable with it, Mr. G. In fact, that's why we wanted you. We trust that you'll help us navigate this with the same fairness and impartiality that you taught us in the classroom."

Klara chimed in, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

"Exactly, Mr. G. We want to explore this topic with the same rigor and honesty that you taught us to apply to history. We want to challenge norms, break stereotypes, and create something meaningful."

Mr. G nodded, the weight of their request sinking in. "Alright, let's say I agree to this—what's the timeline? How much time do you have to complete this project?"

Ava pulled out her phone, scrolling through her calendar. "The publisher gave us six months to deliver the first draft.

They want a comprehensive exploration of modern intimacy from the perspectives of three young women, with personal anecdotes, research, and interviews," Ava explained, her fingers tapping lightly on the screen of her phone.

Mr. G nodded thoughtfully, his gaze going distant as he considered the magnitude of the task. "Six months is a tight deadline, but it's doable. We'll need a clear structure, regular meetings to track progress, and perhaps some guest speakers to provide different perspectives."

Alexa leaned forward, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "We were thinking of breaking it down into sections—dating culture, relationships, consent, sex positivity, and so on.

Each of us would take the lead on a section, with the others contributing and reviewing," Ava said, her tone business-like as she outlined their plan.

Mr. G nodded, impressed by their organization. "That sounds like a solid plan. And what about the personal anecdotes? How much of your own experiences are you willing to share?"

Klara grinned, her hands gesturing excitedly. "That's where the fun comes in, Mr. G. We thought we could share some experiences, but keep them anonymous.

That way, we can be honest without feeling too exposed," Klara explained, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm.

Mr. G took a sip of his coffee, his gaze contemplative. "Anonymity could provide a layer of protection, but it might also limit the emotional depth of your stories. The choice is yours, of course, but consider the impact of anonymity on your narrative."

Ava nodded, her dark eyes reflecting the dancing flames of the fireplace. "We'll discuss it further. For now, we'd like to know if you're on board, Mr. G.

Are you in?" Alexa's eyes held a mix of anticipation and hope.

Mr. G smiled, the warmth of the fireplace casting a soft glow on his face. "I appreciate the trust you three have in me, and I must admit, the challenge is intriguing. But I need to be honest with you—I'm a historian, not a sex therapist. I can provide guidance on research, structure, and perhaps even some insights into historical perspectives on intimacy, but I'll need your help to stay current with the modern landscape."

Klara clapped her hands together, her blue eyes sparkling with excitement.

"That's perfect, Mr. G! We'll be your eyes and ears on the ground, so to speak. We'll keep you updated on the latest trends, and you can provide the context and depth. It'll be a perfect collaboration!"

Mr. G chuckled, leaning back in his chair. "Alright then, girls. You've convinced me. I'm in. Let's create something meaningful together."

Ava's face broke into a warm smile, her dark eyes reflecting her relief and happiness. "Thank you, Mr. G. We won't let you down."

Alexa raised her mug in a mock toast.

"To a new adventure, Mr. G. Welcome aboard."

Klara clinked her mug against Alexa's and Ava's, a grin spreading across her face. "To new adventures indeed."

Mr. G smiled, taking a sip of his coffee, the warmth spreading through him. He set his mug down on the table, his eyes scanning the trio. "Now, let's get down to business. First things first, we need to establish some ground rules."

Ava straightened in her seat, her expression serious. "That sounds wise, Mr. G."

The four spend the rest of the night hammering out a meeting schedule. They decide to meet every Wednesday at Mr. G's place.

As the fireplace embers glowed and the coffee mugs grew cold, they mapped out a preliminary schedule and agenda for their upcoming meetings. Ground rules were established, ensuring that open communication, respect, and honesty would be the pillars of their collaboration.

As the clock struck midnight, Ava checked the time on her phone, her eyes widening slightly. "Wow, it's late. We should probably call it a night."

Alexa yawned, stretching her arms above her head. "Yeah, I've got a marketing seminar first thing in the morning. Thanks for having us over, Mr. G."

Klara stood up, brushing off her jeans. "Thanks for agreeing to be our mentor, Mr. G. We won't let you down."

Mr. G smiled, walking them to the door. "It's been a pleasure, girls. See you next Wednesday."
