Chapter 6: Public Display of Domination

The campus cafeteria was a cathedral of noise and steam. Naruto felt every decibel of it thrum through him as he stood in line, tray in hand. The air was thick with the smell of fryer oil and cheap gravy, a scent that had become weirdly comforting. He was aware of the space he occupied now, the way his hips brushed against the metal railing of the queue, the soft, persistent press of his own belly against the waistband of his pants. The old athletic fit was a distant memory; these were forgiving stretch fabrics, chosen by Hinata.

She stood beside him, a different creature altogether.

Where Naruto had softened and spread, Hinata had solidified. Her shoulders were broad capsules of defined deltoid beneath her tight athletic tank top. Her arms, once pale and soft, were now carved with cords of muscle, the veins mapping her effort when she lifted her own tray with effortless ease. She’d grown taller, it seemed, or carried herself with a height that came from unwavering confidence. Her lavender hair was pulled back in a severe, elegant ponytail that highlighted the sharp lines of her jaw.

She was scanning the hot food section with a critical eye, not for herself, but for him. “The meatloaf looks good today. Nice and moist. We’ll get you a double portion, and extra mashed potatoes. You need the carbs for your later study session.”

Her voice wasn’t loud, but it carried. A couple of football players glanced over, did a double-take at Hinata’s physique, then looked at Naruto with expressions that flickered between confusion and a vague envy. The dynamic was clear. She was the protector, the provider. He was… hers.

“Yeah, sounds good,” Naruto said, his own voice sounding smaller to him. The ghost of Ino’s perfume and the memory of her hand on him in the library felt like a forbidden dream here in the fluorescent light. A dream that stirred something restless and ashamed in his gut.

They navigated to their usual table. Hinata’s presence parted the crowd. She was popular now, in a respected, slightly intimidating way. People nodded to her. They called out greetings. She acknowledged them with a slight, regal tilt of her chin.

They had just sat down when Sakura and Ino arrived, almost in unison, trays in hand. It was like a law of physics.

“Saving the best table for the power couple, I see,” Ino said, sliding in next to Naruto without asking. Her hip pressed against his, a familiar, intentional contact. She was wearing a low-cut top, her cleavage a deep, inviting valley. She smelled like vanilla and ambition.

Sakura sat opposite Hinata, her green eyes sharp. Her pink hair was down today, framing a face that was all frustrated perfection. Her gaze swept over Naruto, taking in the new roundness of his face, the way his shirt stretched. A complex emotion—yearning, annoyance, concern—flashed through her eyes. “You look tired, Naruto. Getting enough sleep? Or is someone keeping you up all night feeding you?” The jab at Hinata was barely disguised.

Hinata smiled, a small, victorious thing. She reached over and speared a piece of meatloaf from Naruto’s plate, feeding it to him with her fingers. Her bicep flexed, a defined globe of muscle. “He needs his rest, but he needs his energy more. Right, baby?”

Naruto chewed, nodding, feeling the eyes of all three women on him. He was the sun they orbited, but he felt like a planet himself, heavy and slow, caught in a gravity he didn’t understand.

“So, Ino,” Sakura said, stabbing a salad. “Heard you were in the library the other day. Studying.” She loaded the word with insinuation.

Ino didn’t miss a beat. She took a sip of her drink, her eyes locking on Naruto over the rim of her cup. “Yeah. Naruto was having a lot of trouble focusing. Needed some hands-on tutoring. Right, Naruto?”

He almost choked. The memory of her mouth, her hands, flooded back. He coughed, his face flushing. Hinata’s hand, broad and strong, came down on his back, patting with a force that rattled his teeth.

“Careful, love,” Hinata said, her voice calm. But her eyes, those pale lavender pools, flicked to Ino. They were no longer shy. They were assessing, calculating. She’d heard the tone. “He’s always been a little… excitable. Easy to distract.” She turned the focus back to him, her hand moving from his back to cradle the side of his face, her thumb stroking his cheek. It was a possessive gesture, a display. “But he knows where his home is.”

The table crackled with unspoken words. Sakura looked between them, her jaw tight. Ino just smiled, a predator’s smile, and let her knee bump Naruto’s under the table.

“He’s a big boy, Hinata. He can make his own choices.” Ino said it lightly, but it hung in the air.

“Of course he can,” Hinata replied, her voice like smooth steel. “And he chooses to be well-fed and cared for. Don’t you?” She didn’t wait for an answer. She loaded his fork with a mountain of buttery potatoes and gravy. “Here. You’ve barely touched these.”

The command was gentle, absolute. Naruto opened his mouth. The food was rich, too rich, settling in his already-full stomach. He ate it because it was easier than the tension, because her approval was a warm blanket, because the confusion of wanting Ino’s wildness and fearing Hinata’s quiet control was exhausting.

As he swallowed, he saw Sakura watching him, a pang of something like loss in her eyes. He saw Ino’s smirk, a promise of more chaos. And he felt Hinata’s hand, resting on the solid shelf of his shoulder, her fingers kneading the soft flesh there—a masseuse’s touch, a owner’s touch.

He was their battleground, a prize grown soft and comfortable in his captivity. The cacophony of the cafeteria faded into a dull roar around their silent, simmering table. Hinata leaned close, her muscular arm wrapping around his back, and whispered into his ear, her breath warm, “All mine.” It wasn’t a question. It was a fact she was etching into the very air between them, for her friends to hear, for the whole world to see.

He took another bite, the flavors indistinct, just a comforting mush. The weight of his body in the chair felt permanent. The momentum of his life felt like a slow, rolling descent into a place where choices were made for him, bite by deliberate bite.
