Jim is happily married to Pamela. But he hides a little secret: he's always been attracted to transsexuals with large penises. Jim has always managed to keep these fantasies separate from his reality. That is, until a new colleague came to work at his company: Kate. Word spreads among his colleagues that Kate is transgender. This intrigues Jim, who has never met one personally.

Chapter 15: Lilith’s birth

The sterile white walls of Saint Mary Hospital reflected the harsh fluorescent lights above, casting long shadows that seemed to stretch on forever. The air was thick with the scent of antiseptic and the subdued hum of conversation and distant machinery. Jim paced the length of the waiting room, his hands shoved deep into the pockets of his jeans. He was trying to keep his mind occupied, but it kept wandering back to Pamela, lying in the operating room down the hall.

Lucy sat in the corner, her small legs dangling over the edge of a chair as she flipped through a picture book.

Jim is thinking about how things have changed. His Pamela, the sweet wife he married eight years earlier, is about to give birth to a baby girl again. The difference is that this time he is not the father. Jim looks at the woman in front of him, his colleague of the past, the woman who changed his life and his wife, who entered Pamela's life so much that they started a bookstore business together, to put his fertile seed in Pam’s loins and let her carry a baby inside her belly. He sees her biting her nails out of nervousness, walking back and forth without stopping. Feel a movement of deep emotion for Kate. It's great that Kate made their marriage an extraordinary adventure. A door opens and a nurse comes out saying: "The future father can attend the birth!" Kate turns to me hesitantly. "Go Kate, it's your turn this time!" The nurse remains dumbfounded. Lucy, on the other hand, already knows how things are and loves Mom Kate exactly as much as Jim and Pam.

But this is different. She is young and has understood that babies are born from the tummy of mothers and that Mom Kate is not her mother.

The nurse, recovering from her initial surprise, says: "Okay, let's go. But next time, try to inform us beforehand about these... special family situations."

Kate nods in apology, and Jim watches them leave the room together. He's left with a sense of pride and admiration for Kate.

She's not just the woman who completes their family; she's the one who made it possible. As he watches her disappear through the doors, he can't help but feel a swell of love and gratitude.

Lucy looks up from her book, her eyes shining with unshed tears. "Daddy, do you think Mommy is okay?" she asks, her voice trembling slightly.

Jim walks over to her, crouching down so they're at eye level. He smiles softly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. Mommy is in very good hands.

And you realised that your sister Lilith was born to mom Pam and Kate, right? But that doesn't mean much. We're a family, okay?”

he said gently, tucking her hair behind her ear. “And we're here for each other. That's what families do."

Lucy nodded, her eyes welling up with tears. "I know, Daddy. I just... I love Mommy so much. I don't want anything to happen to her."

Jim pulled her into a hug, his heart aching for his little girl. "Nothing is going to happen to her, sweetheart. She's strong, and she's with Kate. They're a team, remember?

They'll be just fine."

Lucy snuggled into his embrace, her small body shaking slightly as she let out a sigh. I just miss her so much already."

Jim felt a lump form in his throat as he held his daughter, his heart aching for her.

"I know you do, sweetheart. And I miss her too. But let's focus on the positive. We're going to have a new baby sister soon, and that's something to be excited about."

Lucy pulled back slightly, her eyes bright with unshed tears.

"You're right, Daddy. I am excited.

Will she look like me? Will she have Kate's eyes?"

Jim smiled, ruffling her hair. "Who knows? That's part of the fun, right? Getting to see what she looks like and who she becomes. But one thing's for sure, she'll have a lot of love surrounding her."

Lucy nodded, a small smile playing at the corners of her mouth. "Yeah. She's lucky to have so many people who already love her."

Jim felt his heart swell with pride and love for his daughter. She was so wise beyond her years, and he knew she was going to make an incredible big sister.

After a wait that seemed endless, Kate came out beaming. She was so beside herself with joy that she threw herself into Jim's arms and held him tightly. Then she turned to Lucy and picked her up. Holding Jim and Lucy at the same time, Kate exclaimed: "It's a masterpiece! I can't believe I made a masterpiece. Then, realising that she had spoken without thinking, she added in an embarrassed way: "Sorry Jim... I didn't mean to..." she said, her voice trailing off as she realized what she had said. She quickly tried to correct herself, "I mean, our baby is perfect. She's beautiful and healthy. Pamela is doing great too."

Jim laughed softly, his arms still wrapped around Kate. "It's okay, Kate. I know what you meant. And I'm just as happy and relieved as you are. Can we see her?"

Kate nodded, her eyes shining with joy. "Yes, of course.

Let's go see our beautiful daughter," Kate said, leading the way down the hallway. Jim followed closely behind, with Lucy holding tightly onto his hand. As they approached the nursery, Jim could feel the anticipation building within him. He had been through this before, but it still felt like the first time. The door to the nursery was slightly ajar, and as they peeked inside, Jim's breath caught in his throat. There, bundled up and asleep in her little bassinet, was the most precious thing he had ever seen. "Oh, she's perfect," Jim whispered, his eyes welling up with tears.

Lucy squealed with joy, "She's so tiny! Can I hold her?"

Kate smiled, "Of course, sweetie. Just be gentle, okay?"

Jim watched as Lucy carefully took the little bundle in her arms, cradling her like a natural.

"Hi, Lilith," she cooed softly, her eyes never leaving the baby's face. "I'm so happy to meet you."

Jim felt a lump form in his throat as he watched the tender scene unfold. This was the moment they had all been waiting for, and it was even more beautiful than he could have imagined.

The baby's tiny face was scrunched up in sleep, her little fingers curled up tightly. Jim couldn't help but feel a rush of love for this tiny human who had already brought so much joy into their lives.

Kate walked over to Pamela's bedside, her eyes shining with happiness and relief. "You did it, Pam. You brought our beautiful baby girl into the world," she whispered, leaning down to kiss Pamela gently on the forehead.

Pamela smiled up at Kate, her voice filled with emotion. "We did it, Kate.

Our family is growing," Pamela said, her eyes misty with tears.

Jim walked over to the bed, taking Pamela's hand in his. "You were amazing, Pam. I'm so proud of you."

Pamela smiled, her eyes flicking between Jim and Kate. "We make a great team. All of us."

Jim nodded, his heart swelling with love. He looked down at their precious daughter, his eyes filled with wonder. "She's so small, yet so perfect."

Kate smiled, her eyes gleaming with pride. "She is, isn't she?

Our little miracle," Kate said, her voice laced with awe. "I still can't believe she's finally here."

Pamela nodded, her eyes never leaving the baby. "I know. It feels like I've been waiting forever for this moment."

Jim squeezed Pamela's hand, a sense of contentment washing over him. "Well, she's here now. And she's perfect."

Lucy carefully placed the baby back in her bassinet, her eyes filled with wonder. "She's so tiny. I can't believe she's really ours."

Kate smiled at Lucy, a soft warmth in her eyes.

"She's your little sister now, Lucy. And you're going to be the best big sister ever."

Lucy beamed with pride, her small chest puffing out. "I will! I'll share my toys with her and read her stories and everything!"

Jim chuckled, ruffling Lucy's hair. "I have no doubt you will, sweetheart. You're going to be amazing."

Pamela reached out and took Lucy's hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. "Thank you, Lucy. And thank you both, for all of this.

For making my dreams come true, for being the best family I could ever ask for," Pamela said, her voice thick with emotion.

Jim felt a tear slip down his cheek as he watched the love and joy pass between the three of them. This was what it was all about, he realized. The love, the connections, the family. It was all worth it, every bit of struggle, every moment of fear and doubt. Because in the end, they had each other.

As Jim looked around the room, he felt a sense of peace and contentment wash over him. He had everything he could ever want right here.
