Long was puzzled with her sudden turn of emotions but still muttered, "Yeah, goodbye," kissing her passionately. Lily walked out of the room, her heart aching, leaving Long alone with his thoughts.

They'll be working closely with us on our new project." He turned to them and gestured towards Lily. "Lily, this is Long and Jing. They're the masterminds behind the innovative tech we'll be integrating into our systems." Lily froze mid-step, her eyes widening in shock as the two figures turned around.
She couldn't believe what she was seeing. Standing before her was Long, the man she had spent the most intense and passionate night with, now introduced to her as if they were complete strangers. He extended his hand towards her, a polite smile on his face. "Hello, I'm Long. It's a pleasure to meet you, Lily." His voice was steady, his expression unreadable. Lily hesitated for a moment, her mind racing, before she reluctantly shook his hand. "Nice to meet you, Long," she managed to say, her voice barely above a whisper.
She couldn't help but feel a pang of hurt and confusion. What was he playing at? Had last night meant nothing to him? She stole a glance at him, trying to read his expression, but his face gave nothing away. Long, keeping to his professional character, continued, "And this is Jing, our talented engineer. She's the one who's been instrumental in developing the AI system we'll be using in our new project."
Jing, her eyes bright and eager, stepped forward and extended her hand towards Lily. "Hi, I'm Jing. It's great to finally meet you, Lily. I've heard so much about you." Lily, taken aback by the sudden introduction, hesitantly shook Jing's hand. "Nice to meet you too, Jing," she managed to say, her mind still reeling from the unexpected encounter with Long.
Max gestured towards the conference table, "Shall we all sit down and get started? We have a lot to discuss." They all took their seats, Lily making sure to keep a safe distance from Long. Max began, giving an introduction to the project.
