Chapter 3: Temptation on Duty
A month’s worth of stolen soldier pills and forced ramen bowls had etched itself into Sakura’s body. It was a subtle change, invisible beneath her standard flak vest, but she felt it in the way her trousers tightened across her hips when she crouched, in the new, soft give of her stomach when she leaned over a patient. A constant, low-level ache of fullness had become her new normal.
Standing guard in the echoing marble foyer of the Shimura estate, she was acutely aware of it. And acutely aware of Naruto, who stood poised ten feet away, his back straight, his face a mask of professional neutrality that was beginning to fray at the edges.
The clients, Lady Shimura and her daughter Hana, were a vision of extravagant abundance. They floated through the grand hall on rustling layers of peach and jade silk, their kimonos expertly tailored to showcase rather than conceal. Both women were monumental, a mother-daughter monument to rich living. Their bellies, vast and round as prize-winning melons, strained against the obi sashes, creating deep, shadowed crevices in the fabric. Their breasts, shelves of soft flesh, threatened to escape the necklines with every deep breath or laugh, which was often.
And they were always touching him.
“Uzumaki-san, you simply must try this daifuku,” Lady Shimura cooed, her voice like honey stirred into cream. She waddled closer, the movement causing a complex, rolling earthquake across her front. She held a delicate pastry between plump, bejeweled fingers. “The red bean is from our own gardens.”
Naruto’s eyes, fixed on the middle distance, flickered down. The pastry was inches from his face, but his gaze snagged on the spectacular, quivering swell of her bosom as she extended her arm. A faint pink flush crept up his neck. “Th-thank you, my lady. Later, perhaps. On duty.”
Hana, younger but no less substantial, giggled. It was a sound that started deep in her cavernous belly, rumbled upwards, and escaped as a breathy, girlish noise. She fanned herself with a painted paper fan, making her multiple chins tremble. “So serious! You’re protecting us from what, exactly? Boredom? Because I feel terribly endangered by it.” She leaned towards him, ostensibly to adjust a flower arrangement on a pedestal. The action made her own immense stomach press against the side of his arm, a slow, cushioned compression. Naruto stiffened, a muscle ticking in his jaw. His hands, clenched behind his back, tightened.
Sakura watched, and her own recently-acquired softness felt like a cheap imitation. A layer of dough over steel. These women were the real thing—authentic, lived-in, effortless in their enormity. The way their bodies moved had a gravitational pull, and Naruto was caught in their orbit. She saw his struggle, the way he was trying to be the professional Hokage-to-be, and the way his biology was at war with it.
Ino, positioned by a vast window overlooking a koi pond, wasn’t even trying to hide her scrutiny. Her blue eyes were sharp, analytical, cataloguing the women’s proportions, their mannerisms, the exact way Lady Shimura’s belly gurgled audibly after she sipped her tea—a long, liquid sound that made Naruto’s eyelids flutter for a fraction of a second. Ino filed it away. Data.
Her own transformation was more strategic. The herbal teas and her mother’s relentless, rich cooking had softened the sharp angles of her hourglass frame, filling it out with a lush, deliberate plumpness. Her cheeks were rounder, her hips had a new, swaying weight. She embraced it. Every new curve felt like a point scored. Watching Naruto now, though, she saw the scale of the game. These women were the master level.
“You seem pensive, Yamanaka-san,” Lady Shimura said, turning her overwhelming attention to Ino. She moved, a tide of silk and flesh, her belly leading the way. “Does the art not please you?” She gestured to a garish landscape painting.
“The art is… bold,” Ino replied, her smile flawless. “I was just admiring your obi, my lady. The fabric must be exceptionally strong.” It was a perfectly veiled insult, but Lady Shimura took it as a compliment, preening.
“Oh, it has to be! Custom woven. My husband insisted after the last one… well.” She chuckled, a sound like a contented earthquake, and patted the staggering curve of her stomach. A faint, barely-audible puff of air escaped the strained silk at her side. It wasn’t a rude sound, just a soft, organic release of pressure.
Naruto flinched. His professional mask shattered completely for a full second, his eyes wide and dark with a fascinated, hungry shock before he brutally wrestled his expression back under control. He coughed, turning away to inspect a completely blank section of wall.
Sakura felt a hot spike of something ugly and desperate pierce her gut. It was one thing to know his preference abstractly. It was another to see the raw, visceral reaction triggered by the reality of it. The stolen pills in her vest felt pathetic.
A servant scurried in, bowing deeply. “My ladies, the hot spring in the east garden is prepared.”
“Marvelous!” Hana clapped her hands, the motion sending a spectacular cascade of jiggles through her upper arms and chest. “You will join us, of course. For security.”
Naruto blanched. “That’s… not standard protocol…”
“Nonsense!” Lady Shimura boomed. “The walls are glass. You can stand vigil outside. But the walk through the garden is secluded. You will escort us.” It wasn’t a request.
The procession through the lantern-lit garden was torture. The two women walked ahead, their silhouettes immense and swaying in the dusk, the fabric of their kimonos pulling taut across the full moons of their rear ends with each step. Naruto followed, his gaze locked on the path, sweat beading on his temple.
Sakura and Ino took up the rear. Ino leaned close, her voice a whisper only Sakura could hear. “See how he’s looking? Not at their faces.”
“Shut up, Ino-pig,” Sakura muttered, her own face hot. Her newly sensitive breasts felt heavy and tight in her own constricting top.
“I’m not criticizing,” Ino breathed, her eyes gleaming in the low light. “I’m learning. Notice the way Hana’s hips move? It’s not a walk. It’s a… a roll. A full-body event. I’ve been practicing in my room.”
The absurdity of it, the sheer, surreal competition of it all, hit Sakura like a punch. Here they were, two of Konoha’s most capable kunoichi, on a high-stakes protection detail, studying the waddle of a hyper-rich heiress for seduction tips. She wanted to laugh, or cry, or set something on fire.
They reached the glass-enclosed hot spring, steam already fogging the crystalline panels. The mother and daughter began the elaborate process of disrobing, layers of silk falling away to reveal bodies that were even more staggering in their unadorned state: pale, monumental, etched with deep, soft creases and adorned with shimmering stretches of skin. They giggled as they struggled with sashes, their flesh swaying and settling with ponderous momentum.
Naruto spun on his heel, presenting his back to the glass wall, his shoulders rigid. His ears were blazing red.
Sakura and Ino mimicked the posture, standing guard beside him. The sounds from inside were unmistakable: the heavy plosh of massive bodies easing into water, sighs of profound relief, contented murmurs. Then, a long, resonant, gurgling rumble echoed through the glass, followed by Hana’s giggle. “Oops! The chilled melon isn’t sitting well, I think.”
Naruto made a small, choked sound in his throat.
Ino glanced at Sakura. Her eyes dropped meaningfully to Sakura’s midsection, then back up, a challenge and a question in one look. Can you even do that?
Sakura stared straight ahead at a meticulously pruned bonsai tree. She could feel the nutrient-dense paste of the soldier pill she’d choked down that afternoon sitting in her gut like a stone. She felt bloated, uncomfortable, and lightyears away from the luxurious, organic fullness that elicited such a reaction from the man beside her.
The steam from the hot spring wafted out, warm and damp. It carried the scent of mineral water, expensive perfumed oils, and something else underneath—the warm, intimate scent of large, well-fed bodies at ease.
Naruto took a deep, shaky breath, his knuckles white where he gripped his own elbows. He was a man clinging to a cliff’s edge by his fingernails. Below him was an ocean of temptation, and behind him, unknown to him, two other women were desperately trying to build ships to sail on it. The night air, thick with humidity and unspoken desire, hummed with a tension that was far more dangerous than any external threat the mission had anticipated.
