Chapter 5: Medical Documentation
The world came back in pieces. First was the smell: sharp, chemical, layered over a vague sweetness that made Sara’s stomach roll. Then the light, a pale gray haze behind her eyelids. Then the pain, a distant, thick ache buried deep in her chest, wrapped in layers of something numb and fuzzy. She tried to move her hand to touch it, but her arm was heavy, tethered by an IV line.
A voice, familiar and smooth, cut through the medicinal fog. “She’s coming around. Get the light on her face.”
A click. Harsh fluorescent brightness burned through her lids. She winced, a small sound catching in her dry throat.
“Welcome back, princess.”
Jake.
Her eyes fluttered open. The ceiling was white, acoustic tile. She turned her head, a slow, ponderous effort. The room was small, beige, sterile. A monitor beeped steadily to her right. And there he was, leaning against the wall, arms crossed, a small, professional-looking camcorder in his hands. Tyler stood beside him, holding a DSLR, its lens pointed at her like a dark, unblinking eye.
Hospital. Recovery. The surgery.
A bolt of pure, undiluted terror tried to lance through the anesthesia, but the drugs smothered it, turning it into a muffled thrum of panic. She was exposed. The thin hospital gown. The blankets over her legs. The pink hair, now matted and flat against the pillow. A stark, ridiculous flag in this clinical space.
Charly was there too, in a chair by the window. He looked pale, exhausted, but his eyes were fixed on her with a feverish intensity. His right hand was resting in his lap, and she saw the subtle, rhythmic movement of his fingers through the fabric of his jeans.
“You can’t… be in here,” she slurred, her tongue thick and uncooperative.
Jake pushed off the wall, smiling. He was dressed in dark jeans and a plain black hoodie, looking like a visitor, not an invading force. “Sure we can. We’re family. Emotional support. Right, Charly?”
Charly nodded, his gaze never leaving Sara. “They need to document the process. For the archive.”
The archive. The contract. Clause 4.7.
Jake came to the side of the bed, the camcorder now resting on his shoulder, recording. The red light was on. “How are you feeling, Sara? Tell the audience. They invested a lot in this.”
She felt disconnected, her thoughts swimming in syrup. The ache in her chest was becoming more defined, a deep, persistent throb. “Heavy,” she whispered. “Sore.”
“Specifically,” Jake prompted, his voice gentle, coaxing. “Where are you sore?”
Her hand twitched again, the impulse to cover herself futile. She was so tired. “My… chest.”
“Your breasts, Sara,” Jake corrected, softly. “They’re not just ‘your chest’ anymore. They’re implants. You have new tits. Describe them for us. The doctor talked to Charly. What did he say, Charly?”
Charly’s voice was tight, strained. “Four hundred and seventy-five cc. Ultra-high profile. Silicone gel. He said… he said they’re a significant augmentation. That they’ll be very round. Very pronounced.”
“There you go,” Jake said, zooming the camera in on her face. She could feel its lens like a physical pressure. “Four-seven-five. Bigger than the minimum the winner asked for. You went the extra mile. Good girl. Now, tell me what you think they feel like right now.”
Sara’s vision blurred with drugged, helpless tears. She was trapped in the bed, trapped by the chemicals in her veins, trapped by the red light. “I don’t… know. I can’t feel them right. It’s just… pressure. Ache.”
“Describe the ache.”
“Deep.” A tear escaped, tracing a hot path down her temple into her hairline. “Like… like something’s inside that shouldn’t be. It’s too full. It’s tight.”
“That’s because something is inside that wasn’t there before,” Jake said, his tone didactic, almost cheerful. “Two somethings. Paid for by a stranger. You’re carrying his gift in your body now. Forever. Unless you want to pay to have them taken out, which the contract forbids. Say thank you.”
A sob hitched in her throat. The pain sharpened, a hot spike beneath the numbness. “Thank you.”
“Louder.”
“Thank you!” The words were a wet gasp.
On the chair, Charly’s breathing had quickened. His hand was moving more deliberately now, palming himself through his jeans. He was watching her humiliation, her pain, and it was arousing him. The realization cut through the fog cleaner than anything else.
Jake noticed. “Tyler, get a shot of the husband. Look at him. Look at how proud he is of his modified wife.”
Tyler pivoted, the DSLR clicking rapidly. Charly didn’t shy away. He looked into the camera, his face a mask of conflicted ecstasy, and gave a shaky, proud nod.
Jake turned back to Sara. “We need to see the merchandise. The bandages. Charly, help her with the gown.”
“The nurse…” Sara whimpered.
“Is on a break I generously arranged,” Jake said. “Now.”
Charly stood, his movements jerky. He came to the bedside, his fingers fumbling with the ties of her gown. His touch was clinical, avoiding the vast, padded bandages that spanned her from collarbone to ribs. He peeled the fabric back, just enough to expose the stark white surgical dressings, taped firmly over the swollen, unnatural mounds of her chest.
The camera lenses hovered, capturing the stark contrast of the sterile bandages against her skin, the garish pink hair fanned on the pillow.
“They’re going to be perfect,” Jake narrated, his voice a low, intimate murmur for the microphone. “The ultimate bimbo upgrade. A walking, talking fuck doll with a designer label. You can’t look at those and see a career woman. You see a set of holes waiting to be used. That’s the point, isn’t it, Sara?”
She closed her eyes, but the red light burned through her lids. “Yes.”
“Yes, what?”
“Yes… that’s the point.”
“And what are you?”
The words were there, sediment at the bottom of the drugged sea of her mind. She let them sink up. “A set of holes. A doll.”
“Whose doll?”
“The crew’s. The audience’s.” She opened her eyes, looking past Jake to Charly. His face was etched with a love so broken it was beautiful to her. “His.”
Charly moaned softly, his hand stilling, his entire body trembling.
Jake lowered the camcorder, a look of pure, satiated satisfaction on his face. “Good. That’s enough for now. We’ve got the essential footage. The ‘after’ in the ‘before and after’ narrative.” He walked over to the window, glancing out at the parking lot. “Recovery is what, two weeks?”
“Minimum,” Charly said, his voice hoarse. “No strenuous activity.”
Jake laughed, a short, sharp bark. “Right. Well, the internet doesn’t wait. We’ll do close-up teasers. Bandages. The pain in your eyes. The pink hair on the pillow. Then the big reveal stream when the stitches come out.” He turned back, his eyes cold and bright. “There’s a bidding war already starting for the first tit fuck with the new hardware. The numbers are insane.”
Sara felt a fresh, hot trickle between her legs, a pathetic, involuntary response her body made even through the pain and drugs. The vibrator wasn’t in, but the ghost of it hummed. The promise of use. Of being a useful thing.
Jake saw her slight shift, the dilation of her pupils. His smile widened. “See? She knows her purpose. She’s eager. Get some rest, Sara. Heal up fast.” He patted the bulky bandage over her breast, a casual, proprietary gesture that sent a nauseating jolt of pain through her. “We’ve got a lot of work for you to do.”
He and Tyler moved to the door. Tyler shouldered the camera bag. Jake paused, looking at Charly. “You stay. Document any interesting moments. The pain meds might make her loopy. Could be good footage.”
Then they were gone, the door sighing shut behind them, leaving the sterile silence and the steady beep of the monitor.
Charly slowly sank back into his chair. He was still hard, a visible tent in his jeans. He looked at her, exposed and bandaged and broken on the bed.
“I love you,” he whispered, the words raw. “You’re so fucking beautiful like this. You’re everything.”
Sara turned her head toward him. The world was still soft at the edges, the pain a distant country. But the core of her, the thing they had forged in fire, was clear and calm.
“I know,” she breathed. And for the first time since waking, she tried to smile. It felt strange on her face. A new expression for her new self. “Wait until you see them.”
