Chapter 5: Dangerous Whispers

The leftover scent of last night’s takeout hung in the air, mingling with the sharp, clean aroma of the disinfectant Sara had used on the kitchen counters that morning. Charly, wearing headphones and a focused frown, was a fortress of concentration in his office chair, lines of code scrolling across his dual monitors like digital rain.

The doorbell’s chime sliced through the quiet.

Sara’s stomach clenched. She knew it was him. The text from an unknown number an hour earlier had been brief, devoid of the commanding tone from the night before, just a simple: Be there for lunch. Don’t mention this. She’d deleted it immediately, her fingers trembling with a heat that was equal parts dread and illicit thrill.

Charly pulled one headphone away. “That’ll be Dad. Said he had some prospectuses he wanted to go over.” He stood, stretching, and gave her an absent-minded smile. “Thanks for setting out the extra plate.”

Richard stood on the threshold, carrying a manila folder and wearing a collared shirt that strained slightly across his chest. His eyes, the same cool blue as Charly’s but harder, found Sara first. “Sara. You’re looking… domestic.”

“Richard. Come in.” She forced lightness into her voice, stepping back.

Lunch was a stilted affair of reheated lasagna and awkward silences punctuated by Richard’s opinions—on the city’s new mayor, on the stock market, on the “laziness” of the younger generation. Charly nodded along, used to his father’s monologues, interjecting only with technical details about the business software he thought could streamline Richard’s proposed ventures.

Sara pushed food around her plate, hyper-aware of Richard’s gaze lingering on the V of her sweater, on her mouth when she took a sip of water. The memory of her own fingers, moving under the blanket while Charly sat oblivious beside her, pulsed between her legs. This man had orchestrated that. The knowledge was a live wire.

“Mind if I borrow your printer, son?” Richard asked, tapping his folder. “This inkjet of mine is a damn paperweight.”

“Sure, Dad. Office is all yours. I’ve got a stand-up call with the Singapore team in five,” Charly said, rising and collecting plates. “Sara, can you show him the wireless setup?”

She led him into the cozy office, the space suddenly feeling too small. She pointed to the printer, her words a rushed technical explanation. He stood close behind her, not looking at the printer at all.

“It’s simple,” she finished, turning to find him barely an inch away.

“Lots of things are simple,” Richard said, his voice low. “People just complicate them. Like roles. A woman’s role, for instance. To be supportive. Receptive. Not to have her head filled with nonsense.”

Her liberal instincts flared. “My head is just fine, thanks.”

“Is it?” He took a step forward, forcing her back against the edge of the heavy oak desk. Photographs of her and Charly in happier times rattled softly. “You looked plenty fine last night. Sitting there, so prim. But I knew what you were doing. I could almost smell it on you.”

Her breath hitched. “Charly is right in the kitchen.”

“On a call. Mumbled something about bandwidth. He won’t hear a thing.” Richard’s eyes were merciless. “You agreed with me last night. With every stroke, you agreed. Admit it. A woman like you needs a firm hand. Not a boy who lets you play games.”

“Fuck you,” she whispered, but it lacked conviction. Her blood was pounding, a treacherous heat spreading through her core.

A cold smile touched his lips. “That’s the idea.” His hand went to his belt. The sound of the zipper lowering was obscenely loud in the quiet room. It was a gesture of utter, arrogant dominance. “You think you’re so modern. So open. But you’re just a wet hole looking for a reason.”

He freed himself, and Sara’s mind went blank.

Charly was modest in size. Richard was not. He was thick, heavy, and fully hard, a veined, ruddy intrusion into the sterile office light. It was a weapon. A truth. Her mouth went dry even as a slick, shameless warmth flooded her.

“See?” he grunted. “Nature’s honest. You can pretend all you want with my son, but this… this is what a real man looks like. This is what you’ve been itching for since you first decided to hate me.” He took another step, the tip brushing against her leggings. “Touch it. Go on. Prove you’re not just a talker.”

Her mind screamed a dozen protests. This was too far. This was Richard. This would shatter everything. But her body was a traitor, humming with a need so profound it drowned out the screams. The secret from last night demanded completion. Her hand, as if pulled by a magnet, lifted.

Her fingers wrapped around him. The heat was shocking. The sheer, solid weight of him in her palm made her gasp. She felt a pulse under the skin.

“That’s it,” he breathed, his façade of detached superiority cracking to reveal raw hunger. “Feel what you’ve been missing. Work it.”

Her fist began to move, slowly at first, then with a rhythm learned from a lifetime of knowing her own body but applied now to this foreign, intimidating flesh. Precome beaded at the slit, slicking her strokes. The obscene, wet sound filled the air.

“Look at you,” he rasped, his hands gripping the desk on either side of her, caging her in. “A slut in wife’s clothing. Bet you’re dripping through those little pants right now.”

She was. She could feel the soaked fabric clinging to her. Her hips gave a small, involuntary rock against the desk edge.

“Want it?” he taunted. “Want this old man to fuck his son’s useless wife? To show you what you’re for?”

She couldn’t speak. Her head fell back, a moan trapped in her throat. She nodded, a frantic little movement.

With a growl, his hands were on her leggings, yanking them and her underwear down to her thighs in one rough motion. The cold air hit her wetness, followed by the burning heat of him as he positioned himself. He didn’t ask, didn’t tease. He just leaned his weight forward and pushed.

The stretch was immense, a blinding, full sensation that tore a ragged cry from her lips. He was so much thicker, so much more there than anything she was used to. He buried himself to the hilt in one relentless thrust, his pelvis grinding against her.

“God… you’re tight,” he groaned, his composure fully gone. “Like a fucking vice. Charly never fills you up like this, does he? Does he?”

“No,” she sobbed, the word ripped from her, shame and ecstasy twisting together.

He began to move, a brutal, piston-like rhythm that shoved her harder against the desk with every drive. The photographs jumped. A pencil cup clattered over. Each impact knocked a gasp from her lungs. This wasn’t love or making love. This was being taken, used, proved wrong on every level, and her body was reveling in it.

“Take it,” he grunted, his breath hot on her neck. “Take this cock, you liberal cunt. This is all you’re good for. This is all any of you are good for.”

The filthy words, the violation of her beliefs, the sheer physical overwhelming force of him—it coiled the spring inside her tighter and tighter. She could hear the faint, muffled sound of Charly’s voice from the kitchen, talking about server latency. The juxtaposition was insane. It pushed her higher.

Richard’s pace became frantic, sloppy. He was losing his rhythm, chasing his end. One hand fisted in her hair, pulling her head back. “Gonna fill you up,” he snarled. “Mark what’s mine. You’ll remember this every time he touches you.”

The claim, the profound wrongness of it, was the final trigger. Her orgasm ripped through her, violent and silent, a seizing internal convulsion that clamped around him, milking him. With a choked shout, he drove deep and held, his body shuddering as he pumped his release into her in hot, pulsing jets.

For a long moment, there was only the sound of their ragged breathing and the distant hum of the refrigerator.

He softened inside her, slipping out with a wet, final sound. He stepped back, zipping himself up with practiced efficiency, his face settling back into its familiar lines of stern disapproval, as if he’d just concluded a business deal.

Sara scrambled to pull her leggings up, her legs weak, the evidence of him already leaking down her inner thigh.

He adjusted himself with a casual tug, his eyes cold and assessing as he watched her struggle with the fabric. The warm, sticky trickle down her thigh was a visceral counterpoint to the chill now settling in her veins.

Richard picked up the manila folder he’d never opened, his movements unhurried, his breathing already steady. He looked at her, at the disordered desk, at the palpable heat still hanging in the space between them.

A slow, contemptuous smile spread across his face. “Clean yourself up,” he said, his voice back to its usual, grating authority. He glanced pointedly at the damp patch on her leggings.

Then he leaned in, his mouth close to her ear, and delivered the words like a verdict. “Seems like your cunt liked to be raped.” He pulled back, studying the horror that washed over her features. “All that fight, all those clever opinions. But that’s the real truth, isn’t it? Your body just told me everything I need to know.”

He turned and walked out of the office, leaving her standing there, violated and trembling. The sound of his cheerful voice calling out to Charly about the printer paper jammed in the kitchen.

The sticky warmth between her thighs felt like a brand. She heard the low murmur of their voices, Richard’s tone now all paternal camaraderie, as she fumbled for tissues from the box on the desk. The clean, sharp scent of the paper clashed with the musky, sex-soaked air clinging to her.

She wiped herself roughly, the tissue coming away streaked. “Everything okay in there?” Charly called from the hallway. “Yeah!” she chirped, the word cracking like thin ice. “Just a spill!” She balled the evidence in her fist, shoving it deep into the trash can under discarded drafts.

When she emerged, Richard was already at the front door, clapping Charly on the shoulder. “Thanks for the lunch, son. And the, ah, technical support.” His eyes flicked to Sara over Charly’s shoulder, a ghost of that contemptuous smile playing on his lips. “You look flushed, Sara. You feeling alright?”

“I’m fine,” she said, her voice miraculously steady. Charly smiled, oblivious, his hand finding the small of her back. Its familiar warmth felt alien now.

“Right, I’m off,” Richard said, pulling the door open. He paused on the threshold, the city’s hum swelling for a moment behind him. He looked directly at Sara, his gaze a physical touch. “Remember what we discussed. Sometimes the simplest solution is the right one. Don’t overthink it.”

Then he was gone, the door clicking shut with finality. The apartment seemed to exhale, but the silence he left behind was deafening. Charly turned to her, his brow slightly furrowed. “What was he talking about? What ‘simple solution’?”

“Just… printer stuff,” she lied, leaning into him, inhaling his familiar soap scent to try and erase the other. Her body still hummed, a traitorous engine. A faint, dull ache pulsed inside her, a lingering echo of being stretched and filled. She could still smell him on her skin, a primal, salty scent beneath the clean laundry.

Charly’s hand stroked her hair. “He’s in a weird mood since the divorce. Ignore him.” She nodded, pressing her face into his chest, wanting to disappear. The wetness in her underwear had cooled, a clammy, shameful secret against her skin. Richard was right. Her body had betrayed every principle she owned.
