After a long day of rehearsing and practicing, Ankoku, Marek and Ombre all rest on the couch. When Marek awakes, he feels... a deep connection with the other two.

Chapter 1: Turning Point

The first thing Marek noticed when he woke up was the sunbeam slicing through the window, casting a warm, dancing glow on the wooden floor. It always reminded him of the stage lights, flickering and creating magical patterns as they reflect off the polished boards. He closed his eyes, taking in the familiar comfort of his room, filled with the sweet scent of jasmine from the plant by the window.

As he stretched, his fingers brushed against the ink stains on his bedside table – remnants of the night before, when he'd been sketching the moonlit landscape outside his window.

Next to him were his best friends.

Ankoku, a passionate dancer, rested, his arms wrapped around the violinist, Ombre. He was curled into a fetus position, in between Ankoku and Marek. His long, black hair was splayed across Ankoku's chest, and his mask of a luna moth was slightly askew, revealing his peaceful, sleeping face. Marek smiled, gently pushing a strand of hair off Ombre's forehead. He was always so lost in his music, so consumed by his art, that he often forgot to take care of himself. It was up to Marek and Ankoku to make sure he ate, slept, and didn't push himself too hard.

Ankoku stirred, his piercing brown eyes fluttering open. He looked at Marek, a small smile playing on his lips. "Morning," he rasped, his voice still heavy with sleep.

"You've got that look on your face again."

Marek raised an eyebrow. "What look?"

"The one that says you've been up all night thinking about the universe and its mysteries," Ankoku replied, sitting up and running a hand through his short, black hair.

Marek chuckled, "Well, I was up late sketching. But I think it's more of a 'I've been up all night thinking about our next performance' look."

Ankoku grinned, "Ah, yes. The eternal struggle of the artist."

Ombre stirred, his eyes fluttering open. He looked around, his gaze landing on the two of them. "A-ah..." He mumbled shyly, "M-morning..." He twiddled with his fingers, pushing himself up from the soft sofa. "H-have you been w-working, Marek?" Ombre asked, his voice barely above a whisper. He was always so timid, so careful with his words, as if he was afraid they might shatter like glass if he spoke too loudly.

Marek smiled warmly at him, "Just a little. I couldn't sleep, so I thought I'd put my restlessness to good use." He gestured to the sketchbook on the table, "I thought we could use some new inspiration for our next performance. What do you think?"

Ombre's eyes lit up at the mention of their art. He was always more comfortable talking about music and dance than anything else. "I-I've been working on a new piece too," he said, his voice gaining confidence, but it slowly dropped. "I... i don't know if it's any good, but..." His voice trailed off, his eyes darting to the floor. He pulled out a sheet of notes from his worn backpack, handing it to Marek. "I-I've been trying to capture the feeling of the night sky, the way the stars seem to dance together, like a ballet of their own." His eyes sparkled with excitement, and Marek could see the passion in his gaze. It was one of the many reasons he loved working with Ombre – his ability to find beauty in the most mundane things and translate it into something magical.

Marek took the sheet, his eyes scanning the neat, precise notes. "This is incredible, Ombre. It's like you've captured the essence of the night sky itself." He looked up at the violinist, a warm smile on his face.

"You've got a real gift, you know that? Your music has this way of making people feel like they're floating, like they're part of something bigger than themselves."

Ombre's cheeks flushed a soft pink, his eyes darting away from Marek's gaze. He hide his face with his hands, a mere whisper escaping. "T-thank you, M-m-marek..."

Ankoku chuckled, wrapping his arms around Ombre's torso. "You're so adorable! I could just eat you up!" Ankoku teased, nuzzling Ombre's neck. The violinist giggled, his body shaking with laughter. Marek watched them, a warm smile on his face. He loved seeing them like this – so carefree, so happy. It was a rare sight, but one he cherished dearly.

"Alright, alright," Marek said, breaking the moment. "Let's not get too carried away. We've got a performance to prepare for." He stood up, stretching his arms above his head. "I'm going to make some coffee. Who wants some?"

Ankoku picked Ombre up bridal style, carrying him to the dining table. "I'll make breakfast." Ankoku said, setting Ombre down gently on one of the worn, wooden chairs. "I know how you get when you haven't eaten, Ombre. You start to fade away like a ghost." He winked at the violinist, who rolled his eyes playfully.

Marek chuckled, "Well, we can't have that. Not when we have a performance coming up." He turned to the small kitchen, a cozy nook filled with mismatched cups and plates, and a small, round table. He filled the old, whistling kettle with water and placed it on the stove.

Ankoku started rummaging through the fridge, pulling out eggs, milk, and a block of cheese.

"I think I'll make us an omelette. Something hearty to start the day." He began chopping vegetables with quick, precise movements, his hands dancing over the cutting board like they did on stage.

Ombre watched him, his eyes wide with admiration. "Y-you're so good at that, Ankoku. It's like you're dancing with the knife." He bit his lip, his eyes darting away from Ankoku's gaze. "I-I wish I could move like that."

Ankoku smiled, his eyes softening. "You do move like that, Ombre. When you play, it's like you're dancing with your violin. And when I'm teaching you to dance..."

Marek nudged him. "Hey, don't ruin his innocence." Marek playfully nudged Ankoku, who grinned mischievously.

Ombre's cheeks turned a shade darker, his eyes darting between the two of them. "I-I'm not that bad, am I?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Ankoku chuckled, "No, no, you're not. You're just... unique. And that's what makes you special." He continued chopping, beckoning Ombre to come to him. "Come here. I want to show you make to cook." Ankoku said, his voice filled with warmth. Ombre hesitated for a moment before standing up and walking over to Ankoku. He stood close enough to feel the heat radiating from the stove, his eyes wide with curiosity. "I-I've never cooked before," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper.

Marek, who had been watching them, smiled. "Well, today's your lucky day. Because you're about to learn from the master." He winked at Ankoku, who rolled his eyes playfully.

Ankoku handed Ombre a small, sharp knife. "Here, be careful. This is a paring knife.

It's sharp, so be careful. We're going to start by chopping these bell peppers. See how I hold it?" Ankoku demonstrated, his fingers wrapping around the handle with practiced ease. "You want to hold it like this, with your thumb and index finger forming a 'C' shape. It gives you more control."

Ombre nodded, his eyes wide as he took the knife from Ankoku. He mimicked Ankoku's grip, his fingers trembling slightly. "L-like this?"

Ankoku smiled, "Exactly. Now, let's start with the first pepper. You want to cut it in half, lengthwise.

See how I'm holding it? Like this?" Ankoku demonstrated, his fingers wrapping around the pepper with practiced ease. Hold it steady with your other hand, like this." He showed Ombre how to hold the pepper with his left hand, his fingers gently but firmly gripping it.

"Now, take the knife and slice downwards, like this." Ankoku's hand moved in a smooth, fluid motion, the knife cutting through the pepper with ease. Ombre watched, his eyes wide with concentration, his fingers gripping the knife a little too tightly.

"Relax, Ombre," Ankoku said, his voice soft. "You're holding it too tight. Remember, you want to be gentle. You're not trying to cut through a brick wall." He chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Now, try it."

Ombre took a deep breath, his eyes darting to the pepper in his hand. He took a tentative slice, his hand shaking slightly.

The knife cut through the pepper, but not as smoothly as Ankoku's. He looked up at Ankoku, his eyes filled with uncertainty. "W-was that okay?"

Ankoku smiled, "That was perfect, Ombre. You did it!" He ruffled Ombre's hair, making the violinist blush. "Now, let's do the other half. Remember, keep your fingers tucked in. We don't want any accidents."

Ombre nodded, his eyes focused on the task at hand. He took another slice, this time with more confidence. It was hard to cut the peppers with his hands shaking.

Ankoku merely chucked at the sight. He gently walked behind Ombre, and pressed his body against him, his arms on top of Ombre's.

"E-eep!"

"Relax, sweetheart." Ankoku whispered, his breath warm against Ombre's ear. "You're doing great. Just let me guide you." He gently moved Ombre's hands, his own hands wrapping around Ombre's, guiding the knife through the pepper. Ombre's body tensed, his breath hitching in his throat as he felt Ankoku's body pressed against his. He could feel the heat radiating from Ankoku's chest, his arms wrapped around him, steady and sure. It was a strange sensation, but not an unpleasant one. It was comforting, in a way.

"Like this," Ankoku murmured, his voice low and soothing. "See how I'm holding the knife?"

"Goodness, Ombre." Marek watched them, a grin on his face. "You're so cute when you're flustered..." He chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "You're like a little kitten, all flustered and cute."

Ombre's cheeks flushed a deep red, his eyes darting away from Marek's gaze. He was always so shy, so easily embarrassed. But there was something about the way Ankoku was touching him, guiding him, that made him feel... safe. Protected. And it was a strange sensation, one he didn't quite understand.

Ankoku finished teaching Ombre how to chop the peppers, his hands lingering on the violinist's for a moment longer than necessary. He looked up at Marek, his eyes filled with a silent question.

Marek nodded, understanding the unspoken message. He chuckled darkly. "I'll set up the living room for... "practice," m'kay?" Marek said, his voice laced with a wicked grin. "I'll be back in a bit." He turned on his heel, leaving the two of them alone in the kitchen. The room was filled with the soft sizzle of the frying pan and the sweet scent of cooking eggs.

Ankoku turned to Ombre, his eyes filled with a hunger that had nothing to do with the food. "You know, I've been thinking about something," he said, his voice low and husky. "I've been thinking about how you taste." He reached out, his fingers tracing the line of Ombre's jaw, his thumb gently brushing against the violinist's lips.

Ombre, oblivious to what Ankoku wanted, continued to chop some of the vegetables. "Taste? Like in the food?" he asked, tilting his head slightly. He was always so innocent, so naive. It was one of the many things Ankoku loved about him.

Ankoku chuckled, a low, warm sound that made Ombre's heart flutter. "No, not like in the food," he said, his voice dropping to a low, husky tone. "I mean, like this." He leaned in, his lips brushing against Ombre's in a soft, gentle kiss. It was a mere whisper of a touch, but it sent a jolt of electricity through Ombre's body.

Ombre's eyes widened, his breath hitching in his throat.

He froze, his body rigid, his eyes locked onto Ankoku's. It was a moment of pure, unadulterated surprise. He had never been kissed before, not like this. Not with such intensity, such passion. It was a sensation he had never experienced, and it left him feeling both exhilarated and terrified.

Ankoku pulled back slightly, his eyes searching Ombre's face for any sign of discomfort. "Are you okay?" he asked, his voice soft and gentle. He reached up, his fingers gently tucking a strand of hair behind Ombre's ear. "I didn't mean to scare you."

Ombre took a deep breath, his eyes darting away from Ankoku's gaze. It felt as if there were butterflies in his stomach. "I-i-i..." Ombre stammered, his cheeks flushed a deep shade of pink. He looked down, his eyes fixed on the cutting board, his fingers still gripping the knife. "I... I've never... I mean, no one has ever..." He trailed off, his voice barely above a whisper.

Ankoku's eyes softened, a gentle smile playing on his lips. "I know," he said, his voice low and soothing. "And I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable. That wasn't my intention." He reached out, his fingers gently prying the knife from Ombre's grip. He set it down on the counter, his eyes never leaving Ombre's face. Gently, he caressed Ombre's cheek, a warm smile on his face. "You know, I've been wanting to do that for a while now," Ankoku admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "I've been trying to be patient, to give you space. But you're just so... irresistible." He chuckled softly, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I couldn't help myself any longer."

Ombre's eyes widened, his heart pounding in his chest. He felt a warmth spreading through him, a sensation he had never experienced before. It was a strange feeling, but not an unpleasant one. He looked up at Ankoku, his eyes filled with a mixture of surprise and curiosity. "Y-you have?" he asked, his voice barely audible.

Just as they were talking, Marek came in.

"The living room is ready-" he stopped mid-sentence, his eyes widening as he took in the scene. He raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing on his lips. "Well, well, well. Looks like I interrupted something." He chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "I thought you were going to teach Ombre to cook, Ankoku. Not... whatever this is."

Ankoku grinned, his eyes never leaving Ombre's face. "Well, I guess you could say I got a little carried away." He chuckled, his fingers still gently caressing Ombre's cheek.

Ombre hummed, leaning into Ankoku's touch. "'m tired..." Ombre mumbled, his eyes fluttering closed. The day's events had taken a toll on him, and the sudden intimacy with Ankoku had left him feeling overwhelmed and exhausted.

Ankoku's eyes softened with concern. "Hey, hey, it's okay," he whispered, his thumb gently brushing against Ombre's cheek. "Let's get you to bed, hmm?"

Ombre nodded weakly, allowing Ankoku to guide him towards the bedroom. Marek followed, a thoughtful expression on his face. He was always the caretaker, the one who made sure they were all taken care of.

It was one of the many reasons Marek loved him. He was gentle, patient, and always put their needs before his own. It was a rare quality in someone like Ankoku, who was usually so intense and passionate about his art.

As they walked into the bedroom, Ombre's eyes fluttered closed, his body leaning heavily against Ankoku's. He was exhausted, his body aching from the day's events. Ankoku gently laid him down on the bed, his hands lingering on Ombre's waist for a moment longer than necessary. He looked up at Marek, a silent question in his eyes.

He walked over to the dresser, pulling out a soft, worn blanket. He handed it to Ankoku, who gently draped it over Ombre's sleeping form. The violinist stirred slightly, his eyes fluttering open for a moment before closing again, a soft sigh escaping his lips.

Ankoku sat down on the edge of the bed, his eyes filled with a soft, tender expression. He reached out, his fingers gently brushing a strand of hair off Ombre's forehead. "He's so beautiful when he sleeps," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. He climbed into the bed, cuddling next to Ombre's sleeping form. He gestured Marek to follow. "Com're."

"Sharing with the class, ey?" Marek chuckled, climbing into the bed on the other side of Ombre. He pulled the blanket up to his chin, his eyes never leaving Ankoku's face. "You know, I've always wondered what it would be like to sleep between you two. It's like having my own personal sandwich." He grinned, his eyes twinkling with amusement.

Ankoku rolled his eyes, but a small smile played on his lips. "Well, I guess we'll have to make sure you're comfortable, then." He shifted, making sure Ombre was snuggled between them. He looked up at Marek, his eyes filled with a soft, tender expression.

"You know, I've been thinking about something," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I've been thinking about how much I care about you, about both of you." He gestured to Ombre, who was sleeping peacefully between them. "I know we've never really talked about it, but... I think I'm falling in love with you, Marek. And with Ombre." He took a deep breath, his eyes searching Marek's face for any sign of discomfort. "I know it's probably not what you were expecting, but... I just had to tell you. I can't keep it to myself any longer."

Marek's eyes widened, surprise etched on his face. Then he chuckled. "Don't worry. I've already planned the marriage." Marek's voice was steady, but his eyes were filled with a mix of surprise and amusement. "I mean, we've been living together for years, and I thought it was only a matter of time before you realized you wanted more than just roommates."

Ankoku's eyes widened, and he let out a soft laugh. "You're kidding, right? I mean, I know we're close, but I never thought you'd be planning our wedding."

Marek chuckled, "Well, I figured if I didn't do it, someone else might. And I don't want to lose you to some other lucky guy."

Ankoku's eyes softened, and he reached out, gently cupping Marek's cheek. "You're so ridiculous. So.... what's the theme?" Ankoku asked, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he smiled. "I mean, I know it's not going to be about love or anything like that. We're not exactly the mushy type."

Marek chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Well, I was thinking more along the lines of 'The Dance of the Elements.' You know, fire, water, earth, and air. Each of us representing one of the elements."

Ankoku's eyes widened in surprise. "That's actually a brilliant idea! I can see it now - you as the earth, steady and grounded. Ombre as the air, light and free, or water! And I'm like fire with an intense passion!" Ankoku's eyes sparkled with excitement, his voice filled with a newfound energy. "I think it's perfect. We should totally do it."

Marek chuckled, "I'm glad you like it. I thought it would be a fun way to incorporate our art into the ceremony. Plus, it gives us an excuse to put on a show."

Ankoku grinned, "Exactly! And we can make it a real spectacle. Something people will never forget."

Ombre stirred slightly, his eyes fluttering open at the sound of their voices. He looked up at them, his eyes filled with a soft, sleepy expression. He shifted a bit, feeling the warmth of the two men next to him... He worried if they'd accept him if they knew he was... trans. He has the body of a female, but identified as male. And it seemed Marek and Ankoku assumed he was a man. Which was a good thing. Because Ombre had a secret. A secret he had been hiding from Marek and Ankoku for years. He was trans. He had the body of a female, but identified as male. He had always been afraid to tell them, afraid they wouldn't accept him if they knew the truth. But as he lay there, sandwiched between the two of them, he felt a warmth spread through him. A warmth that made him feel safe, protected. And it made him want to tell them. To finally be honest with them.

But he was scared. Scared of what they might think, of how they might react.

He had always been so careful, so guarded, afraid of losing the only family he had ever known. But as he looked up at them, their faces filled with love and laughter, he felt a sense of peace wash over him. A sense of belonging. Maybe, just maybe, they would understand. Maybe they would accept him for who he was.

Ombre took a deep breath, his eyes darting between the two of them. He opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. He felt a lump form in his throat, his heart pounding in his chest. He tried again, his voice barely above a whisper.

"I-I have something to tell you both." His fingers fidgeted with the hem of his tunic, his eyes darting nervously between Ankoku and Marek. He took another deep breath, steeling himself for what he was about to say. "I-I'm not... I mean, I'm not what you think I am."

Ankoku and Marek exchanged a confused glance, their brows furrowing in concern. "What do you mean, Ombre?" Ankoku asked, his voice soft and gentle. "You're our friend, our family. What could you possibly mean?"

Ombre's cheeks flushed a deep shade of red, his eyes fixed on the blanket. He took a deep breath, his voice barely audible. He turned his head away, but Ankoku gently took his chin.

"You can tell us, sweetheart. We won't judge."

Ombre nodded, before letting out a sigh. "I'm... I'm a girl." Ombre's voice was barely a whisper, his eyes fixed on the blanket. He felt a wave of nausea wash over him as he finally admitted the truth he had been hiding for so long. He had always been afraid of their reaction, afraid they wouldn't accept him. And as he looked up at Ankoku and Marek, their faces filled with concern and confusion, he felt a sense of panic wash over him.

Ankoku's eyes widened in surprise, his hand still gently cupping Ombre's chin. he asked, his voice filled with confusion. "You're a boy, aren't you?"

"N-no..." Ombre mumbled. "I... I just liked using he/him pronouns..." Ombre mumbled. I just liked using he/him pronouns. I feel more like a boy than a girl." He looked up at them, his eyes filled with a mix of fear and vulnerability. "I'm sorry if that's weird or confusing. I just... I didn't want you to see me differently. I mean, I don't mind being called a girl, or being a girl! Though I hate having periods... I just... Didn't want you guys to know." Ombre's voice was barely a whisper, his eyes darting nervously between Ankoku and Marek. He took a deep breath, steeling himself for what he was about to say. "I also... have another thing to tell you guys." Ombre's voice trembled slightly, his eyes fixed on the blanket. He took another deep breath, his heart pounding in his chest.

"I'm... dying." Ombre's voice was barely audible, his eyes filled with a mix of fear and vulnerability. He looked up at Ankoku and Marek, his eyes searching their faces for any sign of rejection or disgust. But all he saw was concern and confusion.

Ankoku was the first to speak, his voice soft and gentle. "Ombre, what are you talking about? You're not dying." He reached out, his fingers gently brushing against Ombre's cheek. "You're here with us, safe and sound."

Ombre shook his head, a tear slipping down his cheek. "No, you don't understand. I have a... a condition. A rare blood disorder. It's called aplastic anemia. It means my body doesn't produce enough blood cells. I've been managing it, but... the doctors say it's getting worse. They don't know how much time I have left." Ombre's voice cracked, a sob escaping his lips as he finally admitted the truth he had been hiding for so long.

He had always been so afraid of their reaction, afraid they would push him away, afraid they would stop loving him. But as he looked up at Ankoku and Marek, their faces filled with concern and love, he felt a sense of relief wash over him. He was finally free, finally able to be his true self.

Ankoku's eyes widened in shock, his hand still gently cupping Ombre's cheek.

"Ombre, that's... that's terrible," he stammered, his voice filled with a mix of disbelief and concern. "Why didn't you tell us? We could have been there for you, supported you."

Ombre's eyes filled with tears, his voice barely a whisper. "I was scared. Scared that you wouldn't understand, that you wouldn't accept me. I didn't want to lose you guys. You're all I have."

Marek's eyes softened, his voice filled with a gentle warmth. "Ombre, we would never leave you. We love you, no matter what."

Ombre clung to the two men. "I'm going to die in a week." Ombre's voice was barely a whisper, his body shaking with sobs. The room was filled with a heavy silence, the weight of Ombre's revelation hanging in the air like a thick fog.

Ankoku's eyes widened in disbelief, his hand still cupping Ombre's cheek. "A week? Ombre, that's not possible. You're not dying. We're not going to let you."

Marek's voice was steady, but his eyes were filled with a mix of shock and sadness. "Ombre, we need to get you to a doctor. Right now. We can't just... sit here and do nothing."

Ombre shook his head, his eyes filled with tears.

I've already seen the best doctors. They've all said the same thing. My body is shutting down. There's nothing more they can do." He took a deep, shuddering breath, trying to regain control of his emotions. "I'm sorry. I didn't want to burden you with this. I just wanted to enjoy the time we have left together."

Ankoku's grip on Ombre's chin tightened, his eyes filled with a fierce determination. "No. No, we're not accepting that. We're not giving up on you, Ombre. We'll find a way to fix this."

Ombre shook his head. "Please..." He begged. "Make my last week the best week possible... Please. Not a week devoted to nothing."

Ankoku and Marek's eyes widened.

"Ombre..." Marek's voice was soft, filled with a mix of sadness and determination. "We can't just... sit here and do nothing. We have to try something. Anything."

Ankoku nodded, his eyes filled with a fierce determination. "You're right. We can't just give up on him. Not without a fight."

Ombre looked up at them, his eyes filled with tears. "I don't want you to fight for me. I just want you to be with me. To enjoy the time we have left together."

"Ombre, we will enjoy every moment with you. But we can't just sit here and do nothing."

"Marek, Ankoku... I don't want a week filled with doctors and appointments. Or answers that I've heard before. I don't want to waste the time I have left." Ombre's voice was barely a whisper, his eyes filled with a mix of sadness and determination. He looked up at Ankoku and Marek, his eyes searching their faces for any sign of understanding. "I want to spend my last week doing the things I love. The things that make me happy. The things that make me feel alive."

Ankoku's eyes softened, his hand still gently cupping Ombre's cheek. "Of course, sweetheart. We'll do whatever you want. Whatever makes you happy."

Marek nodded in agreement, his voice filled with a gentle warmth. "We'll make your last week the best week of your life. No doctors, no appointments."

Ombre nodded, clinging to his friends' chests. "I... I want to go to Texas Roadhouse. I've never been." Ombre's voice was soft, a small smile playing on his lips. "I've heard their steaks are amazing. And they have this thing called 'buckets' of peanuts. You can just sit there and crack them open, eat the insides, and throw the shells on the floor. It's supposed to be really fun." He looked up at Ankoku and Marek, his eyes filled with a mix of excitement and vulnerability. "Do you think we can go? Please?"

Ankoku's eyes softened, a warm smile spreading across his face. Anything you want." He looked over at Marek, a silent question in his eyes.

Marek nodded, a soft smile on his face. "Of course, we can go. Anything for you, Ombre." He reached out, gently squeezing Ombre's hand. "We'll make it a night to remember."

Ombre's face lit up, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "Really? You promise?" He looked between Ankoku and Marek, his heart swelling with gratitude and love.

Ankoku chuckled, his thumb gently brushing against Ombre's cheek. "I promise. We'll leave first thing in the morning. We'll drive all night if we have to. But tonight, you need to rest. You've had a big day."

Ombre nodded, a yawn escaping his lips.

He snuggled deeper into the blankets, his eyes already fluttering closed. "Okay," he murmured, his voice soft and sleepy. "Thank you, guys. I love you both so much."

Ankoku and Marek exchanged a look, a silent understanding passing between them. They would make sure Ombre's last week was filled with happiness and love. They would make sure he didn't have to worry about anything.

As Ombre drifted off to sleep, Ankoku and Marek stayed by his side, their hands gently stroking his hair. They talked in hushed tones, their voices filled with a mix of sadness and determination.

"I can't believe this is happening," Marek whispered, his voice barely audible.

"I can't believe we're going to lose him."

Ankoku squeezed Marek's hand, his eyes filled with a fierce determination. "We're not going to lose him.

Marek looked up at Ankoku, his eyes filled with a mix of sadness and hope. "What do you mean?"

Ankoku took a deep breath, his eyes never leaving Marek's face. "I mean, we're going to find a way to save him. I don't care what it takes. I don't care how much it costs. We're not going to let him die."

Marek's eyes widened in surprise. "But Ankoku, you heard what he said.

The doctors have already tried everything. Marek's voice was filled with a mix of sadness and resignation.

Ankoku shook his head, his eyes filled with a fierce determination. I refuse to believe that. There has to be something, anything. We can't just give up on him."

Marek sighed, his eyes fixed on Ombre's sleeping form. "I don't want to give up on him either. But we have to be realistic. We can't just... ignore the facts."

Ankoku's grip on Marek's hand tightened, his voice filled with a quiet intensity. "I'm not saying we should ignore the facts!"

"Ankoku... He wants a week where there's no worries. Just us and relaxation. And trust me, when you find no answers, he could tell. He'll know you aren't listening to him." Marek's voice was gentle, but firm. "We can't lie to him, Ankoku. He deserves to enjoy his last week without the weight of our desperation."

Ankoku's jaw clenched, his eyes flashing with frustration. "I know that, Marek. I can't accept this. I can't accept that there's nothing we can do."

Marek sighed, his fingers gently brushing against Ankoku's cheek. "I know it's hard, Ankoku. It's hard for me too. But we have to respect his wishes. When..." He held back his tears. "When he goes, we'll make it the greatest funeral ever. And on his last day... we'll.... We'll... we'll make sure his last day is perfect," Marek finished, his voice thick with unshed tears. "But for now, let's focus on making his last week the best week of his life. Let's make him happy."

Ankoku nodded, his expression softening. We can't change what's happening, but we can make sure he doesn't have to face it alone. We can make sure he knows how much we love him."

Marek smiled weakly, "We'll make sure he knows. And we'll make sure he enjoys every moment."
