Chapter 2: Chapter 2
I climbed out of the bed, the wood floor cool against my soles, and started to explore the room. It was a study in contrasts, with dark polished wood floors and heavy velvet curtains that did little to dispel the oppressive gloom. The only light came from a single lamp in the corner, its weak glow casting elongated shadows that danced against the walls.
As I moved, I caught my reflection in a mirror hanging above a dresser. I paused, my breath catching in my throat as I took in the sight of myself.
My body, toned from years of disciplined exercise, was on full display, the curve of my breasts, the dip of my waist, the flare of my hips—all bathed in the soft, golden light. I looked like a piece of art, carefully crafted and perfectly framed. But the way my nipples hardened under my own gaze, the heat that pooled between my thighs, told me that I was anything but inanimate.
A low chuckle echoed through the room, sending a shiver down my spine. This time, I didn't startle.
