Chapter 2: The IOU Demands
The silence after Jenny’s call for tequila wasn’t silence at all. It was a low hum, the sound of the refrigerator, the faint traffic from the street below, and the pounding of Aidan’s own pulse in his ears. He watched Catriona’s retreating back, the scarlet lace a deliberate flag of surrender—or maybe conquest. The crumpled note in his pocket felt like a live coal.
He stood. The legs of his chair screeched against the hardwood.
The sound stopped Catriona in the arched doorway to the kitchen. She turned, one eyebrow arched. Freya and Jenny were behind her, frozen in the act of pulling glasses from a cabinet.
Aidan walked around the scarred coffee table. The discarded clothing—Freya’s soft sweater, Jenny’s black bra—brushed against his jeans. He stopped a foot from Catriona. The lamplight caught the gold flecks in her green eyes, the faint tremor in her lower lip she was trying to hide.
He reached into his pocket. He didn’t pull the note out. He just kept his hand there, his fingers resting on the paper.
“Change of plans,” he said. His voice was calm, quieter than he expected. It wasn’t the easy-going roomie voice. It was something else, stripped of the charm, leaving only the observation. “I’m cashing it in. Now.”
Catriona’s breath hitched. Her bold, flirtatious mask dissolved, not into fear, but into something stark and hungry. The playful challenge was gone, replaced by a deep, visceral recognition. She’d written the check. He was calling it in.
“Okay,” was all she said. Her voice was a scrape.
She didn’t move to the sofa. She just sank down, right there on the worn hardwood floor in the doorway. The boards were cool under her knees. Her hands came up, not hesitantly, but with a focus that sent a jolt straight through him. Her fingers went to his belt buckle, the metal clicking loudly in the static-charged air.
From the kitchen, Jenny made a small, involuntary sound. A glass clinked as she set it down hard on the counter. Freya didn’t move, her hand still on the cabinet door, her blue eyes wide and unblinking.
Catriona worked the button of his jeans, then the zipper. The rasp was obscenely loud. She hooked her fingers into the waistband of his jeans and his boxers and pulled them down in one rough, efficient motion.
Aidan wasn’t small. He knew it. But in the context of their friendly, careful coexistence, it was a piece of data he’d kept strictly filed away. Now, exposed in the half-light, the reality of his length and thickness was undeniable, a stark physiological fact that changed the chemistry in the room completely.
Catriona didn’t flinch. She leaned in, her fiery red hair brushing his thighs. Her eyes, wide and dark, tracked the sheer size of him. A soft, shaky laugh escaped her.
“Oh, wow,” she whispered, the breath warm against his skin. The words weren’t performative. They were pure, unscripted reaction.
“Jesus, Aidan,” Jenny breathed from the kitchen. She wasn’t hiding her stare. Her analytical mind seemed to have short-circuited, her legal composure gone. Her glass of tequila was forgotten. “That’s… that’s the longest, thickest cock I’ve ever seen.” Her voice held naked awe, edged with a thread of pure challenge. “There’s no way you’re deep-throating that monster, Cat. No fucking way.”
The challenge hung there. It was no longer about the IOU. It was a new bet, laid down between them all.
Catriona looked over her shoulder at Jenny, a wild grin spreading across her face. The hunger was back, mixed with a fierce, competitive pride. “You wanna put money on that?”
Then she turned back. She didn’t tease. She didn’t start slow. She opened her mouth, her lips stretching, and took the head of him inside, her tongue flattening against the underside. A low, choked groan came from Aidan’s chest. His hands, which had been hanging at his sides, clenched into fists.
She worked forward, an inch, then two, her jaw straining. She pulled back, gasping, a string of saliva connecting her lips to him. “Fuck,” she panted, the word vibrating against his skin. She dove back down, pushing further, her nose pressing into his pubic bone. Her throat convulsed around him, a tight, incredible pressure.
She couldn’t take it all. Not yet. But the attempt was brutally earnest. She set a rhythm, messy and wet and desperate, one hand wrapping around the base of him, the other gripping his hip so hard he’d have fingermarks later. The sounds were raw, obscene, and utterly captivating.
Freya finally moved. She drifted out of the kitchen like a ghost, her bare feet silent on the floor. She stopped beside the sofa, her arms wrapped around herself, watching Catriona’s head bob with an intense, focused expression. Her earlier mischievous teasing was gone, replaced by a deep, consuming curiosity. Her lips were parted, her breathing shallow.
Jenny remained leaning against the kitchen counter, her knuckles white where she gripped the laminate. She was watching, too, every stroke of Catriona’s head, every stifled grunt from Aidan. The analytical part of her was cataloging it all—the angle, the depth, the sheer physical impossibility of it—while the rest of her was simply on fire.
Aidan’s vision hazed at the edges. The sight was surreal: Catriona on her knees, Freya watching like it was the most fascinating thing she’d ever seen, Jenny pinned in place by her own shock and desire. The IOU was burning a hole in his pocket, but this had already transcended a debt paid. This was something they had all chosen, together, the moment no one had walked away.
He felt the coil tightening, low and urgent. His hand came up, almost of its own volition, and tangled in Catriona’s red hair. Not to guide, just to hold on. She moaned around him, the vibration tearing a ragged curse from his throat.
“Cat,” he warned, his voice strained.
She redoubled her efforts, taking him deeper, her throat working violently. She was fighting her own gag reflex, tears springing to the corners of her eyes, her face flushed a deep, blotchy red. It was a struggle, a beautiful, brutal struggle.
When he came, it was with a force that buckled his knees. He held her head firmly, not forcing, just anchoring himself as he pulsed into her mouth. Catriona’s body stiffened, her throat swallowing convulsively, again and again, until he was spent, until she’d taken every last drop as promised.
She collapsed back onto her heels, gasping for air. Spit and come glistened on her chin. She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, her chest heaving. She looked up at him, her eyes watery and triumphant.
The room was utterly still.
Then, Catriona let out a shaky, breathless laugh. “Told you,” she rasped, glancing toward Jenny, her voice ruined. “Paid in full.”
From her place by the sofa, Freya took a single, quiet step forward. Her blue eyes were no longer on Catriona. They were fixed on Aidan, on the softening, glistening length of him still exposed. A slow, private smile touched her lips, utterly devoid of mischief now. It was a look of simple, profound appreciation.
“Yeah,” Freya said softly, almost to herself. “I’d say you were.”
