Chapter 35: The Guest's Need
The silence of the penthouse guest wing was absolute, a vacuum after the humming sterility of Room 4C. Aidan’s own footsteps on the marble were swallowed by the dense pile of the hallway runner. He pushed open the door to his assigned room, expecting the usual empty expanse of minimalist furniture and untouched linens.
She was already there.
Mei was curled on her side in the center of the vast bed, a small island in a sea of silver-gray silk. She wore one of the penthouse’s signature robes, black silk that pooled around her like spilled ink. Her dark hair was loose, fanned across the pillow. She wasn’t sleeping. Her eyes, wide and watchful, tracked him from the moment the door clicked open.
Aidan stopped, his hand still on the cool metal door handle. “Mei.”
“Suki said you’d be finished by ten,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. It held none of the composed curiosity from the training room. This was thinner, more exposed.
“She didn’t tell me you’d be here.”
“She doesn’t tell you a lot of things.” Mei shifted, wincing slightly as the movement tugged at the silk. A faint blush colored her cheeks. “She was right, though. I’m still sore. It’s… a deep ache. Like I did too many squats in a forgotten gym class.”
Aidan let the door shut softly behind him. He leaned against it, not approaching. “Then you should be resting. Not here.”
“But I want to be here,” she said, with a stubbornness that reminded him, painfully, of a much younger person. “I thought about it all day.The feeling. Not just the… end part. The slowness of it. The way you talked me through it. I want to try again.Properly, maybe. But still gently.”
He pushed off the door and walked to the edge of the bed. The room smelled of her now—a light, citrusy shampoo overlaying the penthouse’s usual ozone and perfume. “It might hurt more this time. The second time can be worse than the first.”
“I know. I read that.” She bit her lip. “But you’ll be careful. You said you would be.”
He had said that. In that other room, under the camera’s eye, it had been a line thrown to a drowning person. Here, in the quiet dimness, it felt like a promise. He sat on the edge of the mattress, the distance between them feeling both immense and insignificant. “Why are you really here, Mei?”
She looked away, her fingers plucking at the silk coverlet. “Suki thinks continued exposure will normalize the experience. Make me less… precious about it. But that’s not it.” Her gaze swung back to him, fierce and young. “I liked the way you looked at me. Like I was a person, not a Tanaka. I want to see if that was just good teaching, or if it’s still there when I ask for it.”
Aidan let out a long, slow breath. The fatigue was a physical weight, but beneath it, a familiar current was stirring—not the raw hunger from the office, but something more deliberate. A sense of craft. He stood and began to undress, his movements methodical. Mei watched, her breathing shallowing as each item was shed.
When he slid under the covers, the cool silk was a shock against his skin. He didn’t move toward her immediately. He just lay on his back, staring at the ceiling’s hidden recessed lights. “Come here.”
She uncurled herself, moving with that same practical grace, and shifted back until she was fitted against his side, her head on his shoulder. Her body was tense.
“Relax,” he murmured, turning his head to kiss her temple. “We’re not doing anything until you’re soft against me.”
It took a few minutes. He could feel the gradual release of her muscles, one by one, as she learned to trust the stillness. Her scent filled his lungs. When her breathing had deepened, he turned onto his side, mirroring her earlier position, and drew her back against his chest. He was hard, the length of him pressing against the small of her back.
She gasped softly at the contact.
“Okay?” he asked, his lips against the shell of her ear.
“Yes. It’s just… a lot. Even like this.”
He kissed the curve of her shoulder, his hands smoothing the silk robe over her stomach. “We stay just like this until you want more. No rush.”
They lay in the quiet for a long time. He could feel her heart beating against his arm. Eventually, she nodded, a small movement against his chest. “Okay.”
He pushed the silk aside, his hand sliding down her flat stomach, through the soft hair, finding her. She was wet, but tight, and he felt her flinch at the first brush of his fingers. “Shhh,” he soothed, working with a patience that felt foreign and deeply natural. He coated himself with her moisture, then guided himself to her entrance, pressing just the swollen head against her.
“Breathe out,” he whispered.
She exhaled, a shuddering release, and he pushed forward an infinitesimal degree. The resistance was immediate, a tight, hot clasp. He stopped, letting her adjust, letting the stretch burn through her. He didn’t move, just held himself there, buried only by the tip, his arms wrapped around her, anchoring her.
“Aidan,” she breathed, a sound of pained wonder.
“I know.Just breathe. Let it become familiar.”
He began to move, a slow, retreating slide, then another minute advance. Each tiny thrust was a negotiation, a yielding. He focused on the feeling of her body accepting his, the incredible, heat-blurred boundary between them dissolving. He was achingly hard, the strain of his control a sweet agony. He whispered nonsense, praise, instructions, his voice the only sound besides their ragged breathing and the soft, slick rhythm.
When her hand came down to clutch his thigh, her nails digging in, he knew she was close. Her inner muscles fluttered wildly around him, trying to pull him deeper. He sped up, just a fraction, the change in angle making her cry out. Her orgasm was a silent, shaking tension that suddenly broke into a series of sharp, gasped sobs. He held her through it, his own release crashing over him a moment later, a deep, rolling pulse that left him shuddering against her back.
He stayed inside her until he softened, then carefully withdrew. The evidence of her broken hymen was gone, replaced by the slick proof of their coupling. It spilled onto her inner thigh, a pearly streak in the low light.
Mei didn’t move for a full minute. Then, with a tired, deliberate movement, she reached for her phone on the nightstand. She didn’t turn over. She simply angled the camera down her own body, capturing the mess on her thigh and the sheets, and took the picture. The flash was a brief, jarring burst of white in the serene darkness.
She sent it, the whoosh sound definitive.
“For Suki,” she said, her voice thick with sleep and something like satisfaction. She dropped the phone and wriggled back, molding herself against him once more. “Don’t go,” she mumbled, already half-unconscious.
Aidan lay still, his arm around her, staring at the empty space where the photo had just been taken. The promise he’d made in Room 4C had been honored. The gentleness had been real. And he knew, with a certainty that settled cold in his gut, that he was now, irrevocably, hers. Not just a teacher.A belonging. The weight of her asleep against him was the weight of his new, singular duty.
