As Eugene and Maylee entered Maylee's dorm, she realized how long she had been away. "Oh No... My project!"

Chapter 3: Chapter 3

Maylee walked down the stairs and out the front door, into the cold November air. Cold enough for you, ma'am?" the husky voice of a security guard asked as he stood at the bottom of the stairs holding a steaming mug.His name tag read Reggie.

"It's freezing! Send some heat my way, Reggie!" Maylee responded, shivering as she walked the distance to the restroom. Reggie was right about one thing. The air was frigid in San Francisco in the middle of November. It was hard to breathe and the smell of the sea was suffocating. Luckily, because she couldn't help but let go a fart as the beets were announcing their way out. She knew it was a smelly one, but luckily the smell of the sea masked it enough. The vibration of the fart, through her butt cheeks, also made her crotch tingle. It was a signal of her body that was saying, hurry up! Blushing and a little uncomfortable and embarrassed, Maylee made her way through the hallway door of the entrance wing. The moment she opened the door, the warm air hit her face and she sighed contentedly. There are a few tables in here, but most of them are taken up by students working on their projects. She looked around to find the restroom doors. But a cold, silent panic struck her as she noticed a sticker on the restroom door: "out of order".

Maylee sighed in despair, and as she sighed, another silent fart found his way out. Silent, but deadly, as her neck hair stood up from smelling her own gas. On the table next to her sat a boy with a plaid shirt, braces, thick glasses and a mullet. It was her classmate Eugene.

"Are you alright?", he asked with a lisp, as he closed his laptop to focus on conversation. His eyes were bloodshot, but his smile was contagious. His lips quivered and his cheeks flushed. He was cute. Cute' was a word she used to describe a lot of boys, but this was the first time she had used it to describe him. "Yeah, I just need to use the restroom." Eugene stood up. "This one's out of order, but you probably already noticed". Eugene smirked cute and uncomfortable. "But I know another restroom on campus, in F-wing. It's a long walk though... Would you be able to manage that?" He asked sincerely concerned.Maylee felt her cheeks redden. Of course, she could manage that. She could walk anywhere. "Thank you, Eugene."Eugene nodded, smiling widely. He took his laptop from the table and opened the outside door for Maylee. He waved his hand to let her go first, and he followed her outside to show her the way to the F-wing.They walked in silence. Both of them were thinking about what they were going to say. It was an awkward silence, those first few minutes, but then, Eugene asked: "How is your project going. Domestic AI, Right?"Maylee nodded, smiling. She was proud of her project. It was the first project she had worked on since coming to college. The first project that had her attention and the first project that had a chance of getting her a job after graduation. "So far, so good.I've got a few bugs to work out, but I think I'll have it ready by the end of the semester."

"Good. If you need any help, I'm going for my PHD In AI and I have some time to spare. I'm good in writing clean code."

Maylee nodded. She was starting to feel really uncomfortable now as her stomach and blatter started to hurt equally. She didn't know the F-wing was so far away from the frathouse lobby, and she squeezed her but cheeks so tight that they were shaking, so no more farts could leave her body, as to not embarrasse herself with Eugene. The cold outside air wasn't exactly helping her either. Her skin prickled, and goosebumps broke out all over her arms and chest.

"Thanks, Eugene. I appreciate the offer, but I don't need any help with my project. I know it by heart and I can do it by myself." She lied. Her mouth was dry and her throat constricted as she spoke.

"Can I ask you something personal?" Eugene asked carefully, as they stepped into the elevator. "Not that I expect you to answer, but I feel like I should ask. You know my name is Eugene, but do you know who I am?I'm not trying to be mysterious or anything, I'm just wondering if you know who I am." He asked nervously. "I know your name is Eugene. That's about it, though I do hear you talk a lot about your dad and your hero, Elon Musk. But I don’t know you. Yet..." A short silence made Eugene look into Maylee's eyes. They were big and brown and full of life. Her lashes were long and dark, almost black. She was young and pretty and had a great smile. "What?" Maylee hesitated a moment over the words she would say next. "I... I would like to know you though. Smart people like you fascinate me." Eugene stopped walking, forgetting Maylee actually needed to go to a bathroom fast. "I'm honored to be a fascinating character to a beautiful, popular girl like you." Eugene smiled, while nervously blushing. Maylee rolled her eyes internally. Popular girl? More like annoying girl. Why did everyone assume she was beautiful? Beautiful' was a stretch. She was drop dead gorgeous, but that was because of her dark skin, eyes and hair. Everyone loved dark skin, eyes and hair. It was a blessing and a curse."You're too kind," Maylee said flattered, yet nervous. "Now, please, hurry up and take me to the restroom." Eugene realised he was about to embarrass his crush. In guilt he apologized: "Right, my mistake, I'm going as fast as I can. I'm almost there, just a few more feet.'

"I'm not beautiful, though," Maylee said, and she felt like an idiot for saying it. "Not compared to you, anyway." The thought of him hitting on her made her blood boil, but she kept her cool. Even daring to release another fart. Only realizing afterwards, she leaked a little pee with it in her panties. Luckily, it wasn't enough to be seen through her pants, but it made her panic a little, not knowing if she was going to make it to the F-wing."Ugh, sorry. I'll get you to the bathroom as soon as possible. It's no problem," Eugene said, clearly sharing Maylee's worry. The doors opened and they stepped inside. The hallway was empty and lighted only by the dim glow of the fluorescent bulbs overhead. They hurried towards the nearest washroom, side by side.

Maylee felt the pressure becoming unbearable. "What floor is this bathroom?" She asked in pain. "Sorry, ninth" Eugene lisped, as he noticed that it was an emergency situation. "Bad news is, the elevator in this building doesn't work. So, we're going to have to take the stairs. And I hate taking the stairs. He winced at the last part, but it was true. "Good news is, there are only nine floors, so it won't take long at all."

"Only nine floors? That will be an eternity to me. I can barely move!", Maylee panicked. "May I carry you?" Eugene offered. Maylee, in pain, hesitated. It was a sweet offer, and even though she liked Eugene, it felt like an invasion of her personal space, and on top of that, she was afraid for more pressure on her blatter and belly. But as she stood there, cross legged and desperate, she realised that if she were to make it to that bathroom on the ninth floor, it would not be on her own powers. "Sure" she winced, "but how fast can you carry me there? And please avoid pressure on my belly and blatter."Eugene smiled. His eyes crinkled at the corners. He was happy to carry her. He was strong and despite his braces, thick glasses and mullet, he was handsome and a real gentleman. Maylee was in love with him, even though he didn't know it. For all his awkwardness, he was brave and confident, and those two things combined made him irresistible. "Not fast enough to get you out of this hallway, I'm affraid, though I will try. Come on, let me help you." Eugene picked Maylee up carefully. He realised that one mistake would make her potentially soil and wet herself. Luckily she was a skinny girl and lightweight. He could probably handle her without too much effort.

They stepped into the stairwell.
