Chapter 1: In the Glow of the Screen
The air in the theater was thick, a physical presence that coated the back of Mary’s throat. It smelled of stale popcorn butter, old velvet, and something sour underneath—sweat, maybe, or desperation. Her own pulse thumped in her ears, loud enough to almost drown out the low, rhythmic thrum of the film projector and the wet, slapping sounds coming from the screen.
She’d walked in on a whim, a bold, terrified impulse after driving past the place three times. Now, wedged into a cracked crimson velvet seat that was suspiciously sticky, she regretted everything and wanted nothing more, all at once.
Her eyes, wide and adjusting to the gloom, scanned the room. Flickering light from the screen painted the few other occupants in strobes of pale flesh and shadow. In the corner, a man sat perfectly still except for the slow, deliberate piston of his fist around his cock. He was looking right at her, not at the screen. A jolt, hot and sharp, shot straight to her core.
She looked away, face burning.
Someone else moved. A man in a dark jacket entered her row, sitting two seats to her left. He didn’t look at her. He just settled in, the old seat groaning under his weight. For a minute, nothing. Mary stared straight ahead, watching the exaggerated, meaningless gymnastics on screen, feeling the weight of the first man’s stare on her cheek.
Then, a soft zip.
She turned her head, just a fraction. The man in her row had his jeans open. He’d pulled himself out. He was thick and already hard, resting in his own palm. He began to stroke, his grip firm, his thumb smearing a bead of moisture over the head. He wasn’t looking at the screen either. He was looking at the side of her face, knowing she had to see him. The message was clear: this is for you.
Mary’s breath hitched. Her thighs pressed together tightly. She’d never seen one in real life, not like this, not so… operational. It was fascinating. Vulgar. Incredible. A fresh wave of heat flooded her, a deep, throbbing ache between her legs that was entirely new in its intensity. She was ashamed. She was mesmerized.
“First time?”
The voice came from her right, low and gravelly, not unkind. She jumped, twisting in her seat. A different man had slipped into the aisle seat beside her without a sound. He was older, with a rugged face and short, graying hair. His eyes, in the dim light, looked calm. Observant.
She couldn’t speak, just gave a tiny, jerky nod.
“Name’s Leo,” he said. He kept his hands in his own lap, didn’t make a move to touch her. “It’s a lot to take in. Can be overwhelming.”
Mary found her voice, a thin whisper. “I… I just wanted to see.”
Leo nodded slowly, his gaze flicking past her to the man two seats over, who was still stroking, his rhythm picking up. “You’re seeing,” Leo said. A statement. “He’s showing off for you. They all will be, soon as they get a good look. You’ve got that look.”
“What look?” she breathed.
“Hungry. And scared shitless.” He cracked a small smile. “It’s okay. This place… it’s for hunger. Nothing else matters in here.”
He was so calm. It steadied her, even as her heart hammered against her ribs. On her left, the man grunted, a short, sharp sound. She glanced over. His fist was moving faster, his breathing ragged. He was going to finish. Right there. Because of her.
“Watch him,” Leo murmured, his voice a rough whisper near her ear. “It’s okay. This is what you came for, isn’t it? To see what it does? To feel what it does to you?”
She was watching. She couldn’t look away. The man’s body tensed, his back arching off the velvet. A raw, guttural sound tore from his throat, and suddenly he was coming, thick white stripes jetting over his own hand and jeans. Mary gasped, a small, helpless sound. Her own body clenched violently in response, a shocking, empty spasm of need so powerful it was almost pain.
The man slumped, spent, tucked himself away, and stood up without a glance, walking back up the aisle into the shadows.
Mary trembled, swallowing hard. The ache between her legs was a furious, pounding thing now.
“See?” Leo said. His hand came to rest on the armrest between them, his fingers close to hers. “Powerful, right? You made him do that just by sitting here.”
“I didn’t do anything,” she whispered.
“Your being here was everything.” His finger grazed the back of her hand. A spark. “You want to touch?”
Her head whipped toward him. His eyes were dark pools. He wasn’t handsome, not in any way she’d ever imagined. He was worn, real. He saw her, the plain, chubby girl drowning in curiosity, and he wasn’t laughing.
“I’ve never…” she started.
“I know.” His hand turned palm up on the armrest, an invitation. “Just touch. Get used to the feel. No one else exists right now.”
Her hand was shaking as she lifted it. She placed her fingertips on his palm. His skin was warm, rough. He closed his hand gently around hers, guiding it downward, into his lap. She felt the rough denim of his jeans, the hard, hot ridge beneath. He covered her hand with his own, pressing it down.
“Feel that?” he breathed, his voice husky now. “That’s for you, too. All for you, Mary.”
Hearing her name in that place, from his mouth, unlocked something. A boldness. She curled her fingers, exploring the length and girth through the fabric. He was big. So big. Leo let out a slow sigh, his head tipping back against the seat.
“Good girl. Just like that.”
Encouraged, she rubbed her palm over him, feeling him jump and harden even more. She fumbled for his zipper. He helped her, his own hands deft. Then he was freeing himself, and her hand was on bare, hot skin. Silken and steel. She gasped, wrapping her fingers around him. He was smoother than she’d thought, the skin mobile over the terrifying hardness beneath. A drop of wetness seeped from the tip, slicking her thumb.
“Yeah,” he groaned. “Fuck, that’s good. Your little hand…”
She began to move her fist, mimicking what she’d seen, timid at first. He guided her, showing her the rhythm, the tightness. “Tighter, sweetheart. Yeah. Just like that. You’re a natural.”
Pride, hot and unexpected, mixed with the feral hunger in her gut. She was doing this. She was making this grown man groan and curse in the dark. Her other hand crept to her own lap, pressing hard against the seam of her jeans, trying to relieve the furious pressure.
“Don’t,” Leo said, catching her wrist. “Not yet. This is about you learning. Watch what you do to me.”
She focused entirely on him, on the feel of him swelling in her grip, on the pre-come that now slicked her whole hand, making lewd, wet sounds in the quiet of their row. His hips began to pump up into her fist, his breathing growing ragged.
“Gonna come,” he gritted out. “Want it on you? Want to feel it?”
“Yes,” she hissed, the word foreign and filthy in her mouth.
He didn’t warn her. One moment he was thrusting into her tight fist, the next his whole body locked, a tendon in his neck standing out like a cord. With a choked-off roar, he erupted. The first hot jet hit her chin. The next splashed across the front of her shirt, soaking into the fabric, hot and shocking against her skin. She kept stroking, milking him, watching in awe as his cock pulsed and throbbed in her hand, spilling everything he had.
He collapsed back, spent, his cock slipping from her slick, trembling fingers. She stared at the mess on her hand, at the dark, wet patches on her shirt. The smell, musky and primal, filled her nostrils. She brought her fingers to her nose, inhaling deeply.
“Fuck,” Leo panted, a laugh in his voice. “You’re something else.”
Before she could respond, a new voice cut through the aftermath, cold and sharp.
“Playtime’s over, old man.”
A shadow fell over them. Mary looked up. Another man stood in the aisle, lean and wiry, with dark, intense eyes that pinned her like a specimen. Marcus. He’d been watching from the back, she realized. He’d seen everything.
Leo tensed, tucking himself away with a weary efficiency. “She’s new, Marcus. Easy.”
“I see what she is,” Marcus said, his gaze never leaving Mary. It traveled over her tear-stained face, her come-spattered shirt, down to the hand still held frozen near her face. His lips curled. “She’s a greedy little pig who just got her first taste. And now she wants the whole meal.”
He stepped into the row, forcing Leo to stand and move aside. Leo gave Mary a last, conflicted look—part warning, part resignation—before melting into the darkness of the theater, leaving her alone.
Marcus didn’t sit. He loomed over her, one hand landing on the seatback beside her head, caging her in. The other went to his belt.
“You liked watching,” he stated, his voice a low, dangerous hum. “You liked jerking that sad old bastard off. Now you’re going to learn what it’s really for.”
He undid his jeans. He was already hard, jutting out angrily. He was thinner than Leo, veined, uncircumcised. He gripped himself, giving a few rough strokes.
“Open your mouth,” he commanded.
Mary shook her head, the spell broken, fear finally rising above the fog of desire.
"What are you here for then pig?"
