Chapter 6: The Theater's Whore
The address led her to a part of the city that slept during the day and woke, groaning, at dusk. It was a narrow alley squeezed between a shuttered pawn shop and a liquor store, the air smelling of stale beer and wet cardboard. A single, buzzing fluorescent tube illuminated a steel door, painted black and scarred with graffiti. The words ‘Adult Books & Videos’ were etched on a small, grimy plaque.
Mary stood across the street, her hands deep in the pockets of her oversized hoodie. She’d been there for twenty minutes, watching. A few men had gone in. One had come out, zipping his fly, a vacant look on his face. No one looked at her. She was just another shadow.
Her heart was a cold, hard stone in her chest. The desperate heat from last night was gone, replaced by a numb resolve. This was the next logical step. The theater had been a crowd. This was a line. A service point. She crossed the street, her sneakers silent on the cracked asphalt.
The inside was a cave. The smell hit her first—a thick cocktail of industrial disinfectant, stale sweat, and something sweetly artificial that made her think of rotting fruit. The front room was a labyrinth of tall, spinning racks of DVDs, their covers a blur of neon and flesh. A bored clerk with a greasy ponytail didn’t look up from his phone. A sign with an arrow pointed to the back: ‘ARCADE.’
She followed it, down a narrow, dimly lit corridor lined with old movie posters. The sounds began here—the low hum of machines, the tinny echo of porn audio from behind closed doors, and a wet, rhythmic slap that made her pause. Her mouth went dry.
The arcade was a small, square room, lit in a sickly red. One wall was lined with old video booths, their curtains mostly drawn. The opposite wall was what she’d come for.
Three stalls. Like bathroom stalls, but heavier, built from stained plywood. Each had a small, metal-bolt lock on the door and, at waist height, a hole about the size of a grapefruit. A crude circle cut into the dividing wall.
A man stood in front of the middle stall, his back to her, hips shifting slightly. A soft, grunting sigh. The sound of a zipper. He walked away, buttoning his jeans, his eyes sliding over her without interest before he disappeared into the hallway.
She was alone.
Her feet carried her forward. She chose the stall on the end. The lock was sticky but she managed to slide the bolt across. Inside, it was closer, darker. The red light leaked in from above. The only furnishing was a small, backless stool bolted to the floor. The hole in the wall stared at her, a dark pupil. On her side, a crude shelf held a small pump bottle of cheap lubricant and a stack of paper towels.
She sat down. The stool was cold through her thin leggings. She could hear breathing from the stall next to hers. Ragged. Impatient. Then, a knock. Two sharp raps on the plywood beside the hole.
Her instructions.
Her body moved on a script she’d read a hundred times in her mind. She unzipped her hoodie, pulled her t-shirt up over her breasts, letting them hang heavy in the cool air. She leaned forward, her face inches from the hole. The smell from the other side was musky, clean—like soap and male skin.
“Hello?” she whispered. Her voice was a stranger’s.
In answer, a cock pushed through the hole.
It was already fully hard, thick and veined, the head flushed a deep purple. It was different from Leo’s. It was impersonal. It was a demand. She stared at it, this anonymous flesh. This was what she was for.
She didn’t hesitate. She opened her mouth and took the head inside. It was warm, almost hot. She tasted salt and a faint, clean tang of soap. Her tongue pressed against the slick ridge. A groan came from the other side of the wall, deep and satisfied.
“Yeah,” a voice muttered, rough and low. “Use your tongue, bitch.”
The words should have stung. Instead, they focused her. She was a bitch. She was a mouth. She was working. She hollowed her cheeks and began to suck, bobbing her head, letting her saliva coat the shaft as her hand came up to stroke what her mouth couldn’t reach. She did it with a determined, clinical efficiency. She thought of the forum posts. Good girl. No fuss.
“Deeper,” the voice grunted. “Take it all, you fat cunt.”
Fat cunt. The insult landed, but it had no heat. It was just a fact here. She was a fat cunt, and she was going to suck this stranger’s dick. She relaxed her throat, letting the thick length press past her gag reflex. Tears sprung to her eyes as the head nudged the back of her throat. She pulled back, gasping, a string of spit connecting her lips to his glistening crown.
“Don’t fucking stop.”
She went back down, deeper this time. Her nose pressed against the grimy plywood. The pubic hair was coarse against her skin. The man on the other side began to fuck her face in short, jerking thrusts, controlling the pace. She surrendered to it, letting her jaw go slack, letting him use the wet hole of her mouth. The only sounds were her choked gags, the wet slap of his skin against her lips, and his ragged, accelerating breaths.
“Gonna come,” he warned, his voice tight. “Swallow it, whore. Every drop.”
He shoved in one last time, hilted himself in her throat, and held. A pulsing heat erupted against the back of her tongue. The taste was bitter, raw, a shock of salt and something earthy. She gulped reflexively, swallowing as another thick spurt hit her tongue. She kept sucking, milking him until he softened, until he slid, slick and spent, from her lips.
He withdrew quickly. Through the hole, she saw a flash of denim as he zipped up. No word. Just the sound of a stall door opening and closing, and footsteps fading away.
She sat back, panting. Cum and saliva dripped from her chin. She wiped it with the back of her hand, her mind eerily quiet. She felt used. Empty. And powerfully, unequivocally real.
Another knock came, this time from the stall on her other side. Two sharp raps.
She turned. A different cock was already emerging from the other hole, half-hard, curving slightly to the left. She didn’t clean her face. She simply leaned over, and got back to work.
An hour later, she stumbled out into the alley, the cool night air a slap after the dank heat of the arcade. Her jaw ached. Her knees were stiff. The taste, a composite of all of them, was a permanent film on her tongue. She felt hollowed out, scraped clean.
“Mary.”
The voice came from a deeper shadow near the dumpster. She froze, a jolt of fear cutting through her numbness.
Leo stepped into the dim light. His weathered face was grave, his arms crossed over his chest. He’d been waiting. He looked her up and down—the messy hair, the hoodie she hadn’t properly zipped, the blank, glazed look in her eyes.
“Saw you go in,” he said, his voice low. “Figured I’d wait.”
Shame, a feeling she thought she’d incinerated, flickered hotly in her gut. She crossed her arms, hiding her chest. “So what?”
“So that’s not a place for you.”
She let out a sharp, brittle laugh. “Why? Because I’m not a real whore? I just was. Three times. Maybe four. I lost count.” The words were meant to shock him, to push him away.
He didn’t flinch. He just studied her, his eyes softening with something that looked like pity. It was worse than anger. “You’re better than a gloryhole, kid.”
“No, I’m not,” she said, the truth of it cold and absolute. “That’s exactly what I am. A hole. That’s all they want. That’s all I’m good for. And you know what? It’s fine. It’s honest.” Her voice broke. “They don’t pretend. They don’t ask for pictures and then tell me I’m a land whale. They just use me. And I…” She trailed off, the admission too raw to voice. And I like knowing my purpose.
Leo was silent for a long moment. The city sounds rushed in—a distant siren, the bass thump from a passing car. He sighed, a heavy sound that seemed to carry the weight of the alley. “Come on,” he said finally, not unkindly. “Let’s get you a coffee. You look like you’re about to fall over.”
She wanted to refuse. To go home to her vanilla-scented room and dissolve. But the hollow ache in her was now a cavern, and the thought of being truly alone with it was terrifying. She gave a tiny, almost imperceptible nod.
He didn’t touch her. Just turned and started walking toward the mouth of the alley, assuming she’d follow. After a heartbeat, she did, her steps silent behind him, a ghost following the only person who had ever seen her, and who had, for reasons she couldn’t fathom, decided to wait.
