Set in Dragon Age Origins. Kerr Cousland is tasked with watching the castle while his brother Fergus and Father ride out. He is met by Lady Landra, her son Darren, and her elven lady in waiting, Iona. Kerr flirts with Iona openly after lady Landra expresses embarrassment over flirting with Kerr at a party last summer. Kerr invites Iona up to his chambers after everyone falls asleep. He visits Lady Landra’s chambers first.

Chapter 1: The Noblewoman's Secret Tryst

The door to Lady Landra’s chambers opened without a sound, a feat for a man of Kerr Cousland’s size. He filled the frame for a moment, a broad silhouette against the dim torchlight of the hallway, before he slipped inside and shut the world out.

The room was a sanctuary of deep red tapestries and polished oak, the air sweet with lavender and the faint, dusty scent of old parchment. A low fire crackled in the hearth, painting long, dancing shadows over a half-finished embroidery on her desk—a riot of silk flowers forever frozen in mid-bloom.

Landra started from her seat by the window, a hand flying to her throat. The book in her lap slid to the floor with a soft thump.

“Kerr!”

“My lady,” he said, his voice a warm, low rumble that seemed to vibrate in the quiet space. He smiled, and it was a disarming thing, full of genuine pleasure and a hint of mischief. He leaned back against the door, seeming even larger in the confines of her personal space. He carried the cool, clean scent of the night air on his clothes.

“I wasn’t expecting you,” she said, trying to muster a tone of rebuke. It came out breathless. “It’s… it’s terribly improper. You shouldn’t be here.”

“Probably not,” he agreed, pushing off from the door and taking a few slow steps into the room. His boots were quiet on the thick rug. “But I saw your light from the courtyard. I thought you might be awake.”

“And that grants you an invitation?” She crossed her arms, but it felt like a defensive gesture, not a show of strength.

“No.” He stopped a few feet from her. The firelight caught the gold in his brown hair and the playful glint in his eye. “Your smile at supper did. The one you tried to hide behind your goblet when your husband droned on about tariffs.”

A flush crept up her neck. “That was nothing. A moment of folly.”

“You shouldn’t be ashamed of it,” he said softly. He closed the distance between them, not touching, but his presence was a tangible warmth. “Of a little flirting. Of feeling seen.”

“Kerr, please…”

“Is it so outrageous,” he murmured, his head tilting, “to think I might find you desirable?”

She let out a shaky laugh, looking away. “You are a boy. I am a woman with a grown daughter. The gap between our years is a chasm everyone can see.”

Gently, he placed a hand against her cheek, his thumb stroking the high curve of it. The touch was startling in its tenderness. “Here and now,” he whispered, “there is no Teryn’s son. No lord’s wife. There is just a man. And a woman who looks at him like he hung the moon.”

He leaned down and kissed her then, slow and searching. It wasn’t a claim, but a question. Her protest died into a soft sigh. The kiss sent a cascade of sensations through her—butterflies taking frantic flight in her stomach, a shiver that was part chill, part thrilling heat. Her hands, which had risen to push him away, instead fisted in the soft linen of his tunic.

When she felt the firm, thickening length of him press against her belly through their clothes, her eyes flew open wide with a jolt of pure, startled want.

“Shhh,” he breathed against her lips, his other arm sliding around her back to support her. “Just let me.”

He was careful. He was gentle. He undressed her with a reverence that made her throat tight, his large hands impossibly soft on her skin. When she was bare, he laid her back on the bed and knelt between her legs, his eyes dark and intent. He kissed his way down her body until his breath was hot on her core.

His mouth on her was a revelation. Skilful, patient, unrelenting. He learned her rhythms, tasted her responses, and coaxed waves of pleasure from her that made her toes curl into the sheets. When his tongue circled her most sensitive spot, a finger, slick with her arousal, pressed gently against the tight ring of muscle beneath. She jolted, but the shock was swallowed by a cresting wave of bliss so intense her vision blurred.

He didn’t stop. He worshipped her with a focused hunger that stripped away every pretense, every duty, every silent year of longing. He turned her over, kissing the length of her spine, and when his tongue traced that same forbidden path, while his fingers slid deep inside her from behind, she shattered with a cry he swallowed with a kiss.

When he entered her, it was with a slow, relentless push that stretched her exquisitely. He moved with a deep, rhythmic pace, his body covering hers, his breath hot in her ear. He watched her face, adjusting his angle until he found the spot that made her legs tremble and her eyes lose focus. Pleasure built again, tighter, higher, a coil ready to spring.

Her sheath grew sensitive, wonderfully raw. He withdrew, letting her gasp for a moment in the cool air. Then, with careful fingers slicked with her own wetness, he guided himself to her other entrance. He pushed slowly, incrementally, letting her body adjust to the profound, filling stretch. The feeling was immense, overwhelming, a complete and utter possession. He moved again, a slow, grinding roll of his hips that sparked a sharp, bright fire within her.

It was too much. It was everything. The world narrowed to the point where their bodies joined, to the hushed, ragged sounds of their breathing. The pressure, the friction, the devastating fullness tipped her over an edge she didn't know existed. Her release wasn't a single wave but a continuous, convulsing surge that wrenched a broken sound from her lips and dragged her down into a deep, velvet black.

When she surfaced, it was to the feeling of a warm, damp cloth moving softly between her thighs. Kerr was cleaning her with a tenderness that felt like a separate kind of intimacy. Her body was a languid, boneless thing, heavy with satisfaction. She could only manage a faint murmur.

She felt him lift her, arrange the pillows, and pull the thick duvet over her. He pressed a kiss to her damp temple.

“Sleep,” he whispered.

She was unconscious before he crossed the room, a blissful, cum-filled mess tucked securely into the warmth of her own bed. The last thing she heard was the quiet click of the door closing.
