Set in Dragon Age Origins. Kerr Cousland is tasked with watching the castle while his brother Fergus and Father ride out. He is met by Lady Landra, her son Darren, and her elven lady in waiting, Iona. Kerr flirts with Iona openly after lady Landra expresses embarrassment over flirting with Kerr at a party last summer. Kerr invites Iona up to his chambers after everyone falls asleep. He visits Lady Landra’s chambers first.

Chapter 8: The Elf's Submission

The silence of the corridor was a physical thing after Eleyna’s door clicked shut. Kerr leaned his forehead against the cold stone wall, letting out a long, controlled breath. His body hummed with a pleasant, draining exhaustion, but his mind was already clicking forward, sifting through the night’s remaining duties: the final guard rotation, the morning’s supply ledgers, the need for a private word with the captain about the patrols near the hunter’s lodge.

He pushed off the wall and made for his own chambers, moving through the castle’s arterial hallways with familiar, silent strides. The scent of Eleyna—sleep and sex and her particular soap—still clung to his skin. It mingled unpleasantly with the phantom lavender from Landra, a layered perfume of complications. He needed it gone.

His rooms were dark, lit only by the dying embers in the hearth and a single candle guttering on his desk, its light wavering over the mess of parchments and his brother Fergus’s old maps. He shrugged out of his tunic, the fine linen damp with sweat, and dropped it over the back of a chair. The water in the copper basin by the window was cold, drawn hours ago. He didn’t care.

He plunged his hands into the bowl, the shock of the water a sharp clarity. He cupped it, splashing his face, his neck, running wet hands through his hair. The droplets traced paths through the tension in his shoulders. He was scrubbing the scent from his skin, the feel of their bodies from his hands, when the soft knock came.

Two raps, hesitant, almost inaudible.

He froze, water dripping from his chin onto his bare chest. “It’s open.” His voice was rough.

The door swung inward slowly. Iona stood framed in the dim light from the sconces in the hall. Lady Landra’s elf. Her posture was usually a study in unobtrusive grace, hands folded, eyes slightly downcast. Not now. Now, her gaze was direct, dark as old wine, and fixed on him with an intensity that stripped the room of its quiet.

She stepped inside and closed the door softly behind her. The latch clicked with a sound like a final decision.

She didn’t speak. Her eyes traveled from his wet face, down the plains of his chest, over the trail of dark hair that vanished into the waistband of his trousers. There was no surprise there, only a deep, simmering recognition.

Her fingers went to the laces of her simple grey dress. They moved not with seductive leisure, but with a frantic, focused efficiency, as if she feared her courage would flee. The ties gave way. The woolen fabric slid from her shoulders, puddling at her feet on the woven rug. She stood before him in only a thin linen shift, the firelight tracing the delicate lines of her collarbones, the gentle swell of her breasts beneath the fabric. Her ears, the elegant points usually hidden by her hair, were fully exposed.

“My lady is asleep,” Iona said, her voice low but steady. It wasn’t an explanation. It was a statement of fact, a clearing of the board.

Kerr watched her, water still dripping from his fingertips onto the floorboards. He saw the tremor in her hands, the rapid rise and fall of her chest. This wasn’t Landra’s practiced hunger or Eleyna’s sleepy surrender. This was something raw, a leap from a great height.

“Iona,” he began, his tone careful, neutral.

She crossed the space between them before he could finish. She didn’t kiss him. She didn’t touch his chest. She dropped to her knees on the hard floor, her hands going to the fastening of his trousers. Her movements were decisive, her slender fingers making quick work of the tie. She freed him, her touch firm and without hesitation.

She looked up at him, her dark eyes holding his for a single, searing moment. Then she took him into her mouth.

The sensation was immediate, a hot, wet shock that made his breath catch. Her mouth was greedy, desperate, taking him deep with a moan that vibrated against his flesh. There was no artful technique, no practiced rhythm. This was pure need, a hungry consumption. Her hands clutched at his hips, her nails biting into his skin as she worked her mouth over him, again and again, as if trying to devour the very essence of him.

Kerr’s head fell back. A low groan escaped his lips. He let his hands come to rest on her head, his fingers tangling in the soft waves of her brown hair. He didn’t guide her; he simply anchored himself, feeling the frantic pull of her, the messy, perfect heat. The complications of the night—Landra’s pout, Eleyna’s silent acceptance, the endless petty politics—all dissolved into this singular, base point of pressure.

He let it happen for a while, this furious, one-sided claim. But the sight of her, an elegant woman brought to her knees on his rough floor, her shift rucked up around her thighs, her commitment absolute, stirred something sharper in him. A possessiveness. A reciprocating hunger.

He gently pulled her back by the hair. She came off him with a wet, protesting sound, her lips swollen and glistening.

“

Her eyes were wide, pupils blown black with want. She rose on shaky legs. He didn’t give her time to think. He turned her, his hands on her shoulders, steering her toward the broad, scarred surface of his writing desk. Parchments whispered as they slid to the floor. He bent her over the oak, the wood cool against her bare stomach through the thin linen of her shift. He pushed the fabric up, baring her to the low light.

Her skin was pale as moonlight against the dark wood, a landscape he hadn’t expected. He traced the curve of her spine with one broad, calloused hand, feeling the fine tremors beneath her skin.

“Easy,” he murmured, the word almost lost in the crackle of the dying fire. His other hand moved between her legs, finding her already wet and welcoming from her own fervor. She gasped, her forehead pressing against the desk, her fingers scrambling for purchase on the polished oak.

“My lord,” she whispered, the title sounding like a plea for something else entirely.

He entered her with a slow, inexorable pressure that made her cry out, a sharp sound swallowed by the quiet room. There was no roughness, only the immense, undeniable reality of him. It was an unfolding, a profound stretching that bordered on pain but was instantly subsumed by a shocking, slick fullness.

He held himself there, buried to the hilt, allowing her body to clench and flutter around him, to acclimate. His hands smoothed over her hips, soothing. “Breathe, Iona.”

She let out a shuddering breath she hadn’t known she was holding. He began to move, not with punishing force, but with a deep, rolling rhythm that came from his hips in a motion more felt than seen. It was less like being taken and more like being traveled, each patient thrust mapping her interior completely.

Her world dissolved into sensation—the burn of stretch, the delicious friction, the impossible heat of him. His cock touched a place inside her she hadn’t known existed, sending bright sparks behind her closed eyelids with every slow retreat and return. Soft, fractured sounds escaped her with each exhale.

He leaned over her, his chest a warm wall against her back, his mouth near the pointed tip of her ear. “You watched,” he breathed, his voice a low rumble she felt in her bones. “All those times, in the shadows behind your lady. You watched.”

It wasn’t an accusation. It was a shared secret. She nodded, helpless, her cheek against the cool wood.

His hand slipped around her hip, his fingers finding the slick, heated knot of her desire. He touched her there in time with his thrusts, a circling, relentless pressure. The dual assault was instantaneous and overwhelming.

Her first climax hit her like a sudden storm. It tore through her without warning, a convulsive, mind-shattering wave that wrung a choked sob from her throat. Her back arched violently, her body clamping down on him in a series of fierce, rhythmic pulses.

He didn’t stop. He didn’t even slow. He rode the clenching waves of her pleasure, his thrusts becoming smoother, deeper, milking the sensation until it began to crest again almost immediately. He was building something inside her, something immense and terrifying.

“Again,” he commanded softly, his breath hot on her neck. His fingers worked her with unerring skill. She did. The second peak was longer, a drawn-out plateau of exquisite tension that held her suspended, vibrating on the edge of a scream she couldn’t voice. Colors swam in her vision. The room, the desk, the feel of the wood grain under her fingers—it all blurred into a haze of pure feeling.

He finally pulled her upright, turning her in his arms, her back now against the desk. He lifted her as if she weighed nothing, her legs wrapping instinctively around his waist. He sat in the high-backed chair, settling her onto his lap, sinking her back down onto him in one fluid, profound motion.

This angle was deeper, more intimate. He could see her face now. Her eyes were glazed, her lips parted. He kissed her, swallowing her ragged breaths. His hands cupped her face, his thumbs stroking her cheeks as his hips moved in a gentle, rolling grind that kept the pleasure simmering just below another breaking point.

“Tell me what you want, Iona,” he said against her mouth. His voice was tender, coaxing.

She couldn’t form a sentence. Language was a distant memory. “M-more,” she managed, a broken syllable.

He gave her more. He began to lift her and lower her, using the strength of his thighs, letting her control the depth. She moved clumsily at first, then with a desperate, rising rhythm, chasing the feeling that was coiling tighter and tighter in her core. Her head fell back, her throat a long, exposed line.

He watched her unravel, a quiet intensity in his gaze. He let her ride the building wave, his own restraint a taut wire. When her movements became frantic, her breaths coming in sharp, animal pants, he took over. His hands gripped her hips, guiding her, setting a pace that was both merciful and ruthless.

Her third climax wasn’t a peak but an annihilation. Her entire body seized, a silent, rigid arc of ecstasy that held for an impossibly long moment before shattering. A raw, guttural cry was torn from her, the sound echoing briefly in the stone chamber. Her eyes rolled back, fluttering closed.

He felt her go boneless, a puppet with its strings cut. Only then did he allow his own control to fracture. With a few deep, grinding thrusts up into her spent body, he followed her over. He spilled into her with a low groan, his release a hot, endless rush that seemed to go on and on, filling her completely.

He held her there, pulsing inside her, as the last tremors wracked her. She was a warm, heavy weight in his arms, utterly insensate. Her breathing was shallow, her limbs limp.

Slowly, carefully, he stood, carrying her to the bed. He laid her down among the furs, her shift still rucked up around her waist. He fetched a soft cloth and the now-tepid water from the basin. He cleaned her with a thorough, gentle efficiency, the same way he had attended to Landra and Eleyna, a strange, private ritual. Her eyelids fluttered but did not open.

He pulled the covers over her. She was already deeply asleep, her face smoothed of all its careful observation and quiet tension. She looked younger. Untroubled.

He dressed in the dark, watching her for a long moment. The scent of sex and her—jasmine soap and something uniquely Iona—now overlay the others. Another layer. Another silent claim.

He had to check the gates. The nightly report was overdue. He bent, brushing a strand of hair from her damp forehead.

As he turned to leave, his eye caught the map on the wall, the Northlands a sprawl of unknown borders and potential threats. For a few hours, at least, he had navigated a territory that made perfect, uncomplicated sense.

He closed the door softly behind him, leaving the elf in a deep, dreamless sleep, her body still humming with the echoes of a journey she had both feared and desired. The hall was colder now, the castle settling into its deepest quiet. He adjusted the dagger at his belt, the night's final duties a familiar pull. Below, in the yard, a dog barked once, a sharp sound that faded into the vast, starless dark.
