Chapter 1: Opening Image

Kelly Kapour sauntered into the office with the sassiness of a Bollywood diva on the catwalk. She wore a floral knee-length skirt, a bright pink top, and the hottest patent-leather heels the summer had offered in Scranton that year. She glanced at Toby, and his uncomfortable grin made her giggle inwardly. That man needed to get a life!

Kelly strutted to her desk, each step displaying the full glory of her much-talked-about derrière.

She had never been the one to shy away from the attention, and as her ex, Ryan, had once painfully discovered, neither was she one to forgive easily. Licking her lips, she thought about the mounds of cake she'd devoured last night, ensuring that the very thing that had once been a subject of insults would only grow larger.

"K-Kelly," stammered Stanley as she plopped her gigantic butt on the chair, making it groan under her weight.

"Like my new skirt? My butt looks amazing, doesn't it?" she teased, wiggling it back and forth.

Stanley rolled his eyes and pretended to be interested in a spreadsheet, but Kelly knew he was checking out her curves. After all, who could resist?

She leaned back in her chair, crossing her legs. The floral scent of her perfume permeated the air as she absentmindedly spun her pen between her fingers.

"Good morning, Kelly," came the stilted voice of Dwight.

"Your, erm, derriere appears exceptionally round today."

Kelly smirked, rotating her chair slowly as if giving Dwight a 360-degree view. "Thank you, Dwight. I've been working on it."

Ever heard of taking conference calls outside the office?"

Kelly tilted her head back, giggling, "Oh, Mark, I didn't know you cared! Catch you on the flip side, buddy!" She dropped her pen and winked at Dwight before heading towards the door.

The office watched as her plump figure disappeared, all eyes following the undulating movement that was somehow so captivating.

Walking into the sunlit parking lot, she smiled as a gust of wind toyed with her skirt, revealing just the right amount of her thigh-high stockings.

She could always count on Dwight for a weird compliment.

Kelly continued her daydreaming, thinking back to the previous evening spent in her apartment, surrounded by cake crumbs and icing residue. She allowed herself a secret giggle as she recalled licking her fingers to savor every last bit of the sugary goodness. They'd never laugh at her again.

Then she heard the familiar sound of her phone ringing from across the room, bringing her back to the office. A wave of annoyance washed over her; there went her peaceful and delicious moment of solitude.

Sighing dramatically, Kelly returned to her desk. Her phone screen told her it was Angela, her resident office momma.

"Hello, darling," cooed Angela.

*Ugh*, thought Kelly, bracing herself for unsolicited advice on health and dieting.

Ignoring her inner cringing, Kelly forced a cheerful tone, "Hey Angie-loo, what's up? Did you finally find a cat that appreciates your bossiness?"

Angela huffed, "This isn't about one of my sweet fur babies.

It's about you, Kelly. I've been meaning to talk to you."

Kelly raised an eyebrow, sensing that this conversation may not be as trivial as she had hoped. "Sure, Angie, shoot."

In typically matter-of-fact fashion, Angela said, "I spoke to Mr. Schrute, and he suggested we move you to sales and have you assist Erin with her territory."

Kelly's initial reaction was disbelief.

After a moment of stunned silence, she replied, "Oh, Angela, thank you so much for thinking of me. However, I must politely decline your offer."

Angela sounded puzzled, "But Kelly, I don't understand. This is a great opportunity for you to advance in the company. Why would you pass it up?"

"Well, Angela, as much as I appreciate the offer, I have to prioritize my well-being. Being on my feet all day and interacting with demanding customers isn't really what I'm looking for right now. Plus, I really enjoy working in the comfort of my cubicle, surrounded by paper and toner."

Angela's confusion deepened, "But Kelly, your derriere would look absolutely fabulous in sales! Just think about it. The confidence boost alone would be worth it!"

Kelly couldn't help but laugh at her friend's sincerity.

"Angie, my butt will always look fabulous, whether I'm selling paper or not.

Plus, I've been thinking about pursuing some other interests outside of work.

Something more...me.

You know?"

Angela hesitated, her eyes softening. "Well, Kelly, that sounds wonderful.

Just remember, sometimes the things that make us the happiest are the ones that challenge us.

I'll let Mr. Schrute know about your decision.

Give him my blessing. Good luck to you, Kelly. May you find the happiness and fulfillment you seek," said Angela, suddenly sounding more like a friend than a co-worker.

Kelly smiled warmly, "Thank you, Angie. I'll think about it. Now excuse me, I have some cake to finish."

With that, she ended the call and looked around the bustling office space with newfound appreciation. It may not have been perfect, but it was her home and her haven.
