Chapter 2: Catalyst
As Kelly strutted through the office, her perfectly round butt bounced with pride. She couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction knowing that it had grown even bigger since her decision to eat more food. Darryl, the black warehouse manager at Dunder Mifflin, couldn't help but give her a slow clap as she sashayed past him. She beamed at him, her heart swelling with gratitude for his support.
Kelly turned to Darryl and asked, "What's with the clapping, big guy?
Don't you have something better to do than to watch my every move?"
Darryl grinned, his teeth gleaming and said, "Nah, Kelly. Watching you take control of your life and your body is the best entertainment I've had in a long time. I'm proud of you. And besides, your ass looks fantastic."
Kelly laughed and shook her head. "You always know how to make me smile, Darryl. I'm glad you're on my side."
Darryl leaned in close, his voice dropping to a husky whisper.
"You know how much I've always appreciated your assets, Kelly."
Darryl's eyes trailed down her body, lingering on her ample hips.
She felt her heart begin to race as he leaned in even closer.
The tension between them was palpable.
Suddenly, Darryl shot up from his chair, startling Kelly.
"You know what, Kelly? I'm gonna take a walk."
He walked away from the break room, leaving Kelly sitting in a mix of confusion and frustration.
She didn't know what to make of Darryl's sudden change in mood.
But as the day progressed, and her thoughts were filled with all things legal and contractual, she found herself gradually shifting her focus away from Darryl and back to the challenges of her job.
In the following days, Darryl did not bring up the subject of their earlier exchange.
He went about his work as usual, making jokes and lightening the mood around the office.
But Kelly couldn't shake the memory of his heated whisper and lingering gaze.
She shook the feeling off, returning to her regular activities at Dunder Mifflin.
As Kelly spent more time around her coworkers, she felt a growing sense of independence and confidence she had never experienced before. The support and admiration of those around her gave her the courage to love herself more every day. Even the occasional snarky comment or judging glance from some employees couldn't dent her now unshakable self-assurance.
Days soon turned to weeks, and Kelly continued her journey toward self-acceptance with unyielding determination and grace.
She had grown more confident with each passing day, and the admiration and support of her colleagues had fueled her even further.
One Friday afternoon, Kelly's path crossed with Darryl's once again.
Their eyes met for a moment, and Kelly could feel the heat rise to her cheeks as she recalled the charged exchange from weeks earlier.
She couldn't help but feel emboldened by the encounter, and with that newfound confidence, Kelly made her way to the break room to indulge in a sweet treat.
The break room was bustling with activity as employees took their lunch breaks and caught up with one another.
Kelly scanned the shelves of the pantry, her eyes settling on four decadent-looking chocolate cakes.
She couldn't resist the temptation.
Without hesitation, Kelly grabbed the cakes and settled into a chair at a nearby table.
As she began to unwrap the silky foil, her eyes met Darryl's once again. He approached slowly, a predatory look in his eyes that sent shivers down Kelly's spine.
"Thanks for grabbing these beautiful cakes for me, Darryl. I was starting to think I'd have to beg Steve for one," Kelly said, her tone dripping with false sweetness.
Darryl chuckled and sat opposite her, a sly smile on his lips. "No problem, sweetie.
She smiled to herself as she took a bite of the rich chocolate frosting, the delicious taste flooding her senses. The break room buzzed with activity, and as she looked around, she noticed Pam and Jim leaning against the counter, chatting. Chris, the assistant regional manager, was busy on his phone at one of the tables. Darryl sat quietly in the corner, engrossed in a magazine. Kelly watched them for a moment, content after her indulgent snack, feeling a surge of gratitude for her co-workers and their continued support.
As she looked around the room, her gaze caught Darryl's eye once more.
There was a different kind of tension in his gaze now, and it made her stomach flip.
Why was he looking at her like that?
She tried to dismiss the thought, breaking eye contact as she stood up to take her empty tray to the trash bin.
She felt strangely vulnerable, like she was constantly being watched and judged.
She wasn't used to this sort of attention, especially with someone like Darryl.
There was a spark in his eyes that made her nervous, yet excited at the same time. Kelly felt her cheeks flush as she tossed her empty plate into the trash bin and made her way back to her desk. Her mind raced with questions. Was Darryl genuinely interested in her? Or was he simply the pariah he had always been at Dunder Mifflin?
Just then, the phone rang on her desk. "Scranton Dunder Mifflin Paper Company," she answered automatically, dusting her hands off against her apron.
"This is Michael Scott.
I need to speak to an employee with the initiative to make a change in this company," Michael growled impatiently.
Her heart skipped a beat. She had never spoken to Michael directly before, and she hesitated, suddenly feeling very small and insignificant.
"This is Kelly, speaking.
