Viper from wolverine movie 2013. Viper poisons Logan with a kiss.

Chapter 4: The Serpent's Wrath

The poison was a living thing in his veins. Logan lay on the cold marble, chest heaving, every nerve ending frayed and sparking like downed power lines. He could feel her watching him—that reptilian patience, that coiled stillness—and it grated against every instinct he had. The beast inside him stirred, not with lust, but with something older and darker.

Survival.

He tested the bonds around his wrists. The silk was tight, but the poison was fading. He could feel his healing factor clawing its way back, cell by stubborn cell, burning through the venom like a wildfire through dry brush. His fingers twitched. His muscles screamed. But they moved.

Viper was at the bar again, her back to him, pouring herself another glass of that amber poison she called whiskey. She was humming—a low, tuneless melody that seemed to slither through the air.

"You know," she said without turning, "I had a man in here once. Tried to fight the venom. Lasted three hours before his heart gave out." She took a sip. "You've got more fight in you than most. I'll give you that."

Logan's fingers curled into fists. The silk cords creaked.

"But you're not like most, are you, sugar? That healing factor of yours... it's something else. I've been studying it since I got you up here. The way it rebuilds, regenerates. It's beautiful, almost. Like watching a star reform itself from a supernova."

She turned, leaning against the bar with her glass in hand. A sliver of city light cut across her face, illuminating those green-flecked eyes. "Shame to waste it on a man who doesn't appreciate what he has."

Logan lunged.

The cords snapped like wet paper. He crossed the room in three strides, his body moving on pure instinct, fury burning through the last of the venom's haze. Viper's eyes widened—a flash of genuine surprise—but she was fast. She dropped her glass, shattered amber and liquid exploding across the marble, and tried to sidestep him.

He caught her.

His hand closed around her throat, slamming her back against the floor-to-ceiling window. The glass shuddered, a spiderweb of cracks radiating from the point of impact. Viper hissed, her forked tongue flickering out, her claws raking against his forearms.

"You—" she choked, but there was a smile in her voice. "You broke my cords."

"Shut up," Logan snarled. His grip tightened. "You're going to give me the antidote. Now."

Viper laughed—a wet, strangled sound that turned into a cough. "There's no antidote, handsome. I already told you. The poison... it's already in you. It's been in you since the warehouse." She bared her teeth, and he saw the fangs, glistening with venom. "You're a walking dead man."

Logan slammed her against the glass again. The cracks spread, and the city lights below flickered through the broken strands like a fractured kaleidoscope. "Bullshit. You said one night. You said—"

"I said I'd let you walk out in the morning." Viper's hand moved—slow, deliberate—and wrapped around his wrist. Her touch was cool, almost soothing. "I didn't say you'd live to see the end of the week."

His grip faltered. "What?"

"Your healing factor can't keep up with my venom, Logan. I made it that way. Weakened your cells, rewired their response. Every time you heal, you're burning through your own life force." She stroked his knuckles with her thumb, and the gesture was so intimate, so tender, it made his stomach turn. "You've got maybe a week before your heart gives out. Unless I give you the counter-agent."

Logan stared at her. The city hummed below them, thirty stories down, indifferent and alive. His hand was still around her throat, and he could feel her pulse—steady, unhurried. She wasn't afraid.

"You're lying."

"Am I?" She tilted her head. The cracks in the glass caught the neon light, painting her face in shades of blue and crimson. "You feel it, don't you? The weakness creeping in. The healing that doesn't quite heal. The edges of your vision going dark."

Logan's jaw tightened. She was right. He could feel it—a bone-deep exhaustion that no amount of willpower could shake. His knuckles had healed from shattering the cords, but they still ached. His heart was pounding too hard, too fast.

"Fuck you," he spat.

Viper smiled. It was the most beautiful, most poisonous thing he'd ever seen. "You already did, handsome. Multiple times, if I recall." Her hand drifted from his wrist, sliding down his chest, her nails tracing the lines of old scars. "And you'll do it again. Because you have no other choice."

She pressed closer, pressing her body against his despite the hand on her throat. Her lips brushed his jaw, her breath hot and sweet. "You want to kill me. I can see it in your eyes, that hungry little beast gnashing its teeth. But you won't. Because if you do, you die too. And you're too stubborn to die, aren't you, Logan? You'd crawl through hell just to spit in the devil's face."

He didn't answer. But his grip loosened.

Viper stepped back, out from under his hand, and smoothed down the sheer black fabric of her dress. She was unruffled, composed, a queen surveying her domain. The shards of glass glinted at her feet like diamonds.

"Here's my new offer," she said. "You've got one week left. Maybe less, if you push yourself. But I can make it go away. I can give you back your life, your healing, your purpose. All you have to do is give me what I want."

"Which is?"

She reached up, unclasping the thin straps of her dress. It fell to the floor in a whisper of black silk, pooling at her feet. She stood before him naked, pale and perfect, her scales catching the light like scattered emeralds.

"Everything."

Logan's breath caught. He hated himself for it—hated the way his body responded, the way his cock stirred despite the exhaustion, despite the rage. She saw it too. Her eyes dropped to the growing bulge in his briefs, and she smiled.

"See?" She stepped forward, closing the distance between them. Her hand slid down his chest, lower, wrapping around his hardening length through the fabric. "You want me. Even now. Even when you hate me. That's what makes you so much fun, Logan. You're so easy to read."

He was hard. God damn it, he was hard, his cock straining against the thin cotton of his briefs like a prisoner rattling his cage. Viper stroked him through the fabric, slow and deliberate, her thumb tracing the outline of his head.

"Take them off," she said. It wasn't a request.

Logan's hands moved before his brain could catch up, shoving the briefs down his hips. His cock sprang free, thick and flushed, dripping with anticipation. Viper's eyes lit up, and she wrapped her hand around him, pumping slowly.

"There he is. There's the man who was inside me." She leaned in, her tongue flickering out to taste the pre-cum beading at his tip. "You taste even better than I remember."

Logan's head fell back. A sound escaped his throat—something between a groan and a growl—and she lapped it up, circling the head of his cock with that sinuous, forked tongue.

"You like that?" she murmured against his flesh. "You like how my tongue feels on your dick?"

"Yeah," he ground out. "Fuck, yeah."

She smiled against him, then took him in her mouth—all the way, to the root, her throat opening to accommodate him. Logan's hands found her hair, tangling in the dark strands, not to guide her but to anchor himself against the searing, slick heat of her mouth.

She sucked him like she was drowning, like he was air, her cheeks hollowing as she drew back and plunged down again. The sound of it—wet, obscene, filthy—echoed off the marble and glass. He could feel her throat contracting around him, feel her swallowing, and a low groan rumbled up from his chest.

"Fuck, Viper," he gasped. "Where'd you learn to suck dick like that?"

She pulled off with a wet pop, strings of saliva connecting her lips to his cock. "I've had a lot of practice, sugar. And I've got a lot of time." She pumped him with her hand, slow and torturous. "But you don't. So why don't you quit wasting it?"

She turned, pressing her palms against the cracked window. The city sprawled below them, a million lights blinking in the rain, and she arched her back, offering herself to him like a sacrament.

"Fuck me," she said. "Fuck me against this glass so the whole city can see."

Logan didn't need to be told twice.

He stepped forward, grabbing her hips, and drove into her with a single brutal thrust. No warning, no finesse, just raw, animalistic need. Viper cried out, her hands splaying against the glass, her body pressing into the cracks as he filled her to the hilt.

"That's it," she hissed. "That's it, you beautiful bastard. Fuck me like you hate me."

"I do hate you," he snarled, pulling out and slamming back in.

"Good. Then fuck me like it."

He did. He fucked her like she was the enemy—like she was everything that had ever wronged him, everything that had ever hurt him, distilled into this one pale, perfect body. His thrusts were punishing, relentless, his hips slapping against her ass with wet, rhythmic sounds that filled the penthouse.

The glass fogged with their breath. The city watched, indifferent. Sirens wailed somewhere in the distance, but they were a world away.

Viper moaned, long and low, her body arching into each thrust. "Oh god, Logan. Oh god. You're so deep. You're so fucking deep."

He reached around, his hand finding her clit, and she bucked against him. She was wet—soaked, dripping down her thighs, and he could feel the heat of her cunt clenching around him with every stroke.

"Look at you," he growled in her ear. "Dripping like a slut. You love this, don't you? You love getting wrecked by a man you tried to kill."

"Yes," she gasped. "Yes, I love it. I love your cock, Logan. I love the way it stretches me, the way it fills me. God, don't stop. Please don't stop."

He didn't stop. He shoved her harder against the glass, the cracks spreading beneath her palms, and fucked her with everything he had—all his rage, all his frustration, all his fear. It was primal, ugly, beautiful in its brutality. Her moans turned to screams, her body trembling as she came around him.

"Oh god, yes, yes, YES—"

Her climax triggered his own. He roared, a sound that tore from his chest like a wounded animal, and he spilled inside her, hot and thick, his body convulsing with the force of it. For a moment, the world went white, and there was nothing but the two of them—two monsters, locked in a dance of hatred and desire.

When it was over, he slumped against her, his breath ragged in her ear. She sagged against the glass, her body trembling, her legs barely holding her up.

"Well," she breathed. "That was something."

Logan pulled out slowly, his cock softening, and stepped back. He was still angry—still furious, still ready to tear her apart—but the edge had been dulled, at least for now. He turned, searching for his clothes.

"I'm leaving," he said. "Antidote. Now."

Viper turned to face him, unhurried. She retrieved her dress from the floor and slipped it over her head with practiced grace. "Of course, sugar. A deal's a deal."

She crossed to a chrome side table and opened a small lacquered box, removing a single syringe. The liquid inside was clear, almost invisible. She held it up.

"This will purge the poison from your system. Take it, and you'll be back to your old self in a day or two." She paused. "Or... you could stay."

Logan glared at her. "Fuck you."

Viper smiled. "Already did, handsome." She tossed him the syringe, and he caught it one-handed. "Goodbye, Logan. It's been a real pleasure."

He didn't answer. He dressed in silence, his movements jerky and angry, and when he was done, he walked to the penthouse door without looking back. He heard her voice behind him, soft and almost fond.

"Do come back, sugar. I'll be here."

The door slammed shut behind him.

The elevator ride down was silent and cold. Logan pulled out the syringe, examined it in the flickering light, and injected the contents into his neck. The relief was immediate—a cool rush spreading through his veins, washing away the poison like rain on a windshield. He felt strength returning, clarity sharpening, the fog lifting from his mind.

When the doors opened onto the lobby, he walked out into the rain without looking back at the tower behind him. Maybe she'd lied. Maybe the syringe was full of poison too, and he'd just killed himself. But he didn't think so. She respected him, in her own twisted way. And she'd been honest about everything else.

He walked the wet streets, the rain soaking his hair, his shoulders. The city was alive around him, honking horns and slurring drunks and the ever-present rumble of traffic, and for a moment, he let himself feel free.

Then his pocket buzzed.

He pulled out his phone, frowning. One new message from an unknown number.

A photo.

It was him—on his knees, his wrists bound with red silk, his head thrown back in ecstasy. The image was sharp, unmistakable, captured from an angle he hadn't even known existed.

Below it, a single line of text:

See you soon, handsome.

The phone shattered in his grip, glass and plastic raining to the sidewalk. Logan stood there, breathing hard, the rain dripping down his face.

She'd planned this. Every goddamn moment of it.

And she wasn't done with him yet.
