Chapter 9: The Breeding Demand
The silence after he pulled out was louder than anything that had come before. It was the silence of a detonation site, after the blast wave has passed and all that’s left is the ringing in your ears and the settling dust. Ben shifted, his weight leaving the table, and I heard the soft, pragmatic sounds of him cleaning himself up. A rustle of tissue, the click of his jeans fastener. The ordinary noises were obscene.
I didn’t move. I stared at the acoustic tiles of the ceiling, my body a map of unfamiliar sensations: a deep, throbbing ache, the cooling tracks of sweat between my breasts, the sticky evidence of him drying on my inner thighs. My mind, usually a crowded, anxious room, was a vault, hollowed out and echoing.“Ella.”
His voice was calm again. The therapist’s voice. It made my skin crawl.I turned my head. He was fully dressed, leaning against the counter by the sink, arms crossed. He looked like he had an hour ago.Professional. Composed. The only evidence was a slight dampness at his temples, a loosened quality to his posture. He watched me with that unsettling perceptiveness, waiting for me to reassemble.
“You should get dressed,” he said, not unkindly. “Before you get cold.”
The instruction released me from my paralysis.Shame, hot and acidic, flooded in to fill the void. I scrambled off the table, my legs wobbly, the vinyl sticking unpleasantly to the backs of my thighs.I couldn’t look at him. I gathered my clothes from the floor—the stupid, practical cotton underwear, the sports bra, the loose t-shirt—and pulled them on with fumbling, frantic hands. Each garment felt like a lie. Dressing felt like trying to shove a raging fire back into a matchbox.“Look at me,” he said.
I froze, my t-shirt half over my head.I dragged it down, reluctantly raising my eyes. His gaze was steady, assessing.“How do you feel?”
A hysterical laugh bubbled in my chest. How did I feel?Ruined.Exhilarated.Terrified.Empty.Full.
“I don’t know,” I whispered, and it was the truest thing I’d said.He nodded as if that were a perfectly acceptable clinical answer.“Physically? Any sharp pain?Dizziness?”
I shook my head.No. Just a profound, blooming soreness that felt like a truth I’d been ignoring for years had finally taken physical form inside me.
“Good.” He pushed off the counter and walked toward me.I flinched, a tiny, involuntary thing. He saw it and stopped, a faint line appearing between his brows. He didn’t like that. “The treatment was intense. You need to hydrate.Rest. No heavy exertion tonight.”
The casual, post-treatment advice was surreal. As if we’d just done a particularly vigorous round of scapular retractions.“Okay,” I managed, my voice thin.
“I’ll text you,” he said, repeating his earlier statement. It wasn’t a question. It was a decree. He wasn’t asking if I wanted another session. He was telling me there would be one.
I just nodded, my eyes dropping to the floor.I heard him move, the door opening. The hallway light spilled in, a sterile yellow intruding on our dim, secret world.
“See you next week, Ella.”
I couldn’t speak. I listened to his footsteps fade down the hall, the distant beep of the clinic’s security system, the heavy finality of the exterior door closing. Then, silence again. The drive home was a blur of streetlights and shadows. I replayed it all on a loop, but it felt like watching something that had happened to someone else. The look on his face when he’d asked about James. The feeling of being so completely filled. The crude, devastating rightness of it.I’d cheated. The word finally landed, stark and ugly.I’d had sex with another man. My husband, who was probably eating a lonely room-service meal in some generic hotel a thousand miles away, trusted me. And I had let a boy—a glorified stranger—fuck me on a medical table.
But the guilt felt distant, slippery. It kept being shoved aside by a memory of physical sensation so intense it made my hands tighten on the steering wheel. The shame and the need were twin snakes, coiled around each other in my gut.I walked into my quiet, tidy house. James’s slippers were neatly by the door.A postcard from his last trip was stuck to the fridge with a magnet. The familiar sight should have been a dagger. Instead, it felt like looking at artifacts from a life I’d already left.
I stood under a scalding shower, scrubbing my skin until it was pink, as if I could wash away the smell of him, the feeling of him. But the soreness remained.A tactile memory.A brand. His text came two days later. Not a question.A statement.Friday.6:30 PM.Last appointment of the day.
That was all.No “how are you feeling?” No pretense. My heart hammered against my ribs, a frantic bird trapped in a cage. I stared at the screen for a full hour, my thumbs hovering over the keyboard.I could type No.I can’t. This was a mistake.I could block his number. I could call my husband and confess, blow my whole life apart and maybe, in the rubble, find some shred of decency again.
I typed a single character: K.
It sent.Just like that.
The following days were a strange purgatory.I functioned. I went to work, answered emails, had vapid conversations about the weather. But inside, I was a void waiting to be filled. Every mundane moment was just killing time until Friday at 6:30 PM.I was terrified.I was electric.
When I pulled into the clinic parking lot that evening, it was nearly empty. The sky was the color of a fresh bruise, purpling into night. My hands were ice-cold. I walked through the silent lobby, my sneakers squeaking on the polished floor. His door was ajar, a slash of warm light.I pushed it open.
He was there, leaning against the treatment table, already waiting. He wore dark jeans and a simple grey t-shirt that clung to his shoulders and arms.He looked like he’d just come from the gym, not a day of work. His eyes locked onto mine the moment I entered, and that same magnetic intensity I’d felt the first day, the one he usually kept sheathed, was naked and pulsing in the room.
“Lock the door,” he said, his voice low.I turned and pushed the deadbolt home. The thunk was deafening. The world sealed out.
“Come here.”
I walked toward him, my legs only slightly more steady than they’d been the week before. I stopped a few feet away, unsure what to do with my hands, my body.
“How’s the soreness?” he asked. His tone was clinical, but his eyes weren’t. They traveled over me, possessive and hungry.“Gone,” I said.It was mostly true. The physical soreness was gone. The other kind had just mutated, grown roots.
“Good.” He didn’t move from his perch against the table.“Strip. Everything.”
The command was so blunt, so devoid of the careful dance of undressing, it stole my breath. Last time, it had been a frantic, mutual shedding. This was an order.A test. I hesitated, a final, feeble spark of resistance. He just watched, patient.Unmoving.
My fingers trembled as I pulled my t-shirt over my head, unhooked my bra.The cool air hit my skin. I toed off my shoes, pushed my jeans and underwear down in one clumsy motion, kicking them aside. I stood before him, completely exposed, my arms hanging uselessly at my sides. I wanted to cover myself, the parts of me I’d always been too big, too soft. But his gaze felt like a physical touch, approving and absolute.“On the table. On your back.”
I climbed onto the vinyl, the surface cool against my bare skin. I lay back, staring at the ceiling again.I heard him move, his footsteps quiet. Then he was there, standing between my legs, his hands on my knees. He pushed them apart, opening me without ceremony.
“You’ve been thinking about this,” he stated.It wasn’t a question.“All week. Haven’t you.”
I closed my eyes, humiliation washing over me. “Yes.”
“What did you think about?”
I shook my head, unwilling to give him the words. His touch left my knees. I felt his weight settle at the end of the table, then the warm brush of his breath against the most intimate part of me.My eyes flew open.He wasn’t looking at my face. He was looking at me, down there, with a focused, predatory curiosity.
“Tell me,” he murmured, his voice vibrating against my skin.“Or I stop.”
He lowered his mouth.
The first touch of his tongue was a lightning strike. It wasn’t gentle or explorative. It was targeted, ruthless expertise. He knew exactly what he was doing, exactly where to press, to circle, to flick. The coiled tension in my belly, the constant hum of need that had lived in me for days, spiraled tight with shocking speed. He worked me with a single-minded intensity, one hand firm on my hip to hold me still, the other… I couldn’t see.I could only feel.
The orgasm built terrifyingly fast, a wave gathering force, ready to break. I whimpered, my hips lifting off the table, seeking more, seeking the fall.He stopped. He pulled back completely. The sudden absence was a physical agony. I cried out, a raw, frustrated sound.
He looked up from between my legs, his mouth glistening, his eyes dark and serious, almost grim. “Not yet.”
“Please,” I gasped, beyond pride, my body throbbing with unfinished need.
“Beg me,” he said, his voice low and rough.“But not for that.”
I was panting, disoriented. “For what?”
He leaned in closer, his lips almost touching my ear. His next words were a whisper, so shocking and specific they seemed to change the temperature of the room.“Beg me to breed you. Beg me to have my baby.”
The world tilted. This wasn’t just sex. This wasn’t just a fling or a illicit fuck. This was something else entirely. A claim so deep it violated every boundary, every agreement of my life. A fantasy so dark and taboo it squeezed the air from my lungs. The part of me that was still a wife, still a rational person, recoiled in horror.
But the part of me that was here, on this table, aching and empty, heard something else in his voice. Not just domination, but a terrifying, possessive promise. To mark me.To change me. To put something of himself so deep inside me that James could never touch it.
Shame and a feral, uncut arousal mingled into a potent, mind-altering cocktail. My resistance didn’t just melt; it vaporized.
I turned my face toward his, my vision blurred with desperate tears. The words crawled up from a place I didn’t know I had, ugly and true.“Please,” I gasped, the sound ripped from my chest. “Breed me.I want your baby inside me. Please.”
A slow, predator’s smile spread across his face.It was a smile of absolute, terrifying satisfaction.
He stood up, unbuckled his belt, and freed himself. He was already painfully hard. He didn’t guide himself in. He positioned the thick, blunt head at my entrance, gathered my hips in his hands, and in one smooth, powerful motion, drove into me.
The penetration was deeper, more claiming than before. It wasn’t a stretch. It was an occupation.A declaration.
He didn’t wait for me to adjust. He set a relentless, punishing rhythm from the first stroke, each thrust a brutal reminder of his demand. My back arched, my cries lost in the sound of skin slapping against skin, of the table groaning under the force. The orgasm he’d denied me now came roaring back, magnified by the obscenity of the plea he’d forced from my lips. It crashed over me, convulsing and endless, blinding me to everything but the feeling of him pounding into me, as if he truly meant to bury his seed in my deepest soil.
Through my haze, I saw his face, taut with strain, his eyes locked on where our bodies joined. He was watching himself take me, watching the place he intended to leave his permanent, irrevocable mark. The knowledge of his intent—the visceral, life-altering gravity of it—was the last thing I felt before the world shattered into blinding, white-hot static.
