Chapter 3: Medicinal Munchies
The Konoha Hospital lounge was a sanctuary of soft light and low chatter, a world away from the sterile halls and urgent whispers of the wards. Afternoon sun streamed through the large windows, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. The scent of lilies from a nearby arrangement mingled with the earthy aroma of tea and something richer, something savory.
Sakura slumped into a plush armchair, a grateful sigh escaping her lips. The green fabric of her standard-issue medic-nin uniform pulled tightly across her chest, the buttons seeming to strain with the simple motion of her breathing. She was aware of the new, heavy fullness there, a sensation that had become a constant, unignorable presence.
“I don’t think I can look at another chart today,” she murmured, rubbing her temples.
Ino dropped into the chair opposite, the wicker creaking in protest. She let her head loll back. “Tell me about it. My feet are killing me. And I’m starving.” She patted her midsection, where the firm, flat plane of her abdomen had recently softened into a gentle, undeniable curve. Her blouse, once loose, now snugly accommodated the new swell of her hips and the soft pouch that settled above her waistband.
The door to the lounge swung open and Tsunade strode in, her presence immediately commanding the room. In one hand, she carried a large bamboo basket covered with a cloth, from which a warm, fatty, delicious scent emanated.
“You two look like you’ve been through the wringer,” she said, her voice a warm, familiar rumble. She set the basket on the low table between them. “I figured you could use some proper fuel. This isn’t hospital cafeteria slop. This is my special stamina-building onigiri. Packed with energy.”
Sakura’s eyes lit up. “Lady Tsunade, you didn’t have to!”
“Nonsense. A shinobi’s body is their greatest weapon. It needs maintenance.” Tsunade lifted the cloth, revealing a dozen plump, perfectly formed rice balls, glistening with a sheen of oil and speckled with dark nori. They were substantial, each one nearly the size of a fist. Naruto’s subtle suggestions to his former teacher had been specific: use short-grain rice for its higher starch content, mix in generous amounts of fatty minced pork and mayonnaise into the filling, and fry them lightly in lard before wrapping.
Ino didn’t need to be told twice. She grabbed one, the warm weight of it feeling right in her hand. She took a large bite, her eyes fluttering closed as the rich, salty flavors burst on her tongue. “Oh, wow. This is incredible.”
Sakura followed suit, eating with the focused hunger of someone who had been running on empty for hours. She could feel the satisfying density of the rice, the unctuous richness of the hidden filling. It was comfort, solid and real.
Tsunade watched them eat, a satisfied smile on her face. “See? You need real calories for this work. All those late nights and skipped meals will waste you away to nothing.” Her gaze, though kind, missed the details: the way Sakura’s bust, already legendary, now seemed to overflow its confines, the fabric of her uniform stretched to a precarious tightness. She didn’t see the way Ino’s new stomach pressed against her waistband, creating a soft roll that jiggled slightly as she reached for a second onigiri.
“It’s just so hard to keep up,” Ino said between mouthfuls, a few grains of rice sticking to her lip. “I’ve been so tired lately. I come home from the flower shop and just collapse. Cooking feels like a marathon.”
“This is better than anything I could make,” Sakura agreed, swallowing a large bite. She leaned back in her chair, a contented, full feeling spreading through her. She felt a slight, pressure-building rumble in her gut and shifted, a soft, muffled sound escaping her. She flushed slightly, but both Tsunade and Ino seemed not to notice, or care. The constant, heavy meals Hinata had been “slimming” them down with, combined with these caloric bombs from Tsunade, were doing their work.
“It’s the stress,” Ino said, echoing the mantra they had both adopted. “All those stress snacks add up, I guess.”
“Nonsense,” Tsunade said firmly, her own substantial chest swelling with authority. “A healthy body is a well-fed body. You’re both strong kunoichi. Your frames can handle it. You’re just… filling out. Maturing.”
From the doorway, unseen, Naruto watched. He had come to drop off a scroll for Sakura, but the scene before him was far more compelling. He saw the blissful, oblivious consumption on their faces. He saw the very real, physical evidence of his and Hinata’s combined efforts. Sakura, whose incredible height was now coupled with a profound, soft voluptuousness that made her seem like a lush, pink-haired goddess. Ino, her confident hourglass figure deepening, the elegant lines of her body softening into something more lavish, more indolent.
His heart hammered against his ribs. This was it. They were being praised for their growth, validated by the most powerful woman in the village. They were being lovingly, expertly molded into his ideal, and they thanked their manipulators for the privilege.
He didn’t interrupt. He simply watched as Ino finished her second rice ball, licking the grease from her fingers with a satisfied sigh, her body settling into the chair with a new, heavy permanence. He saw Sakura pat her full stomach gently, a drowsy, well-fed expression on her face.
He slipped away, the image burned into his mind. The plan was working perfectly. They were being stuffed, celebrated, and softened into the perfect, lazy, beautiful wives he desired, all while believing they were simply coping with the demands of their lives. The path of least resistance was paved with rice and pork fat, and they were walking it without a single question.
