Chapter 18: The Calibration Begins
The silence in Lena’s office was a solid thing. It pressed in, amplified by the hum of the computer tower and the distant sigh of the building’s ventilation. The camera on the tripod by the desk was new. Its red recording light was off, but it felt like a sleeping predator.
Sasha hadn’t moved from her chair. Her shoulders were rigid, her gaze fixed on the whiteboard’s chaos. The underlined phrase—"The User’s Guide to Pleasure (No Experience Required)"—seemed to mock them.
“Up,” Lena said. The word wasn’t loud. It was a command that sliced the quiet. She was leaning against her desk, arms folded. “The bench, Sasha. You know the position. Reader question 447: ‘My boyfriend sometimes enters me from behind without warning when I’m bent over. I sometimes jump and it kills the mood. How do I get used to it?’ We’re testing the startle response and subsequent acclimatization. Variable A will provide the stimulus.”
Sasha stood. Her movements were economical, devoid of her usual fluid grace. She walked to the wide, padded physiotherapy bench Lena kept for posture corrections—and other things. She didn’t look at Aidan. Her fingers went to the buttons of her silk blouse. Each one gave way with a soft pop. She let the blouse slide off her shoulders, then unhooked her bra. Her skirt pooled at her feet. She stepped out of her underwear, folded everything with a chilling neatness, and placed the pile on a side chair.
Then she climbed onto the bench. She knelt, her knees sinking into the black padding, and bent forward until her torso was parallel to the floor. She rested her forearms and head down, turning her face to the side. The curve of her back was a profound slope, her ass presented in full, glorious invitation. She was already wet. Aidan could see the gleam in the sterile office light. Her body was preparing even as her mind revolted.
“Aidan. Approach from behind. Stand and observe for a moment. Then penetrate. No warning. No hands on her. Just… insertion. We’re timing the gap between stimulus and her orgasm. Previous data suggests it’s negligible.”
Aidan’s legs were lead. He walked forward, the cool air on his skin raising goosebumps. He stopped behind her. The scent of her—coconut oil and something darker, musky—cut through the lavender. He was achingly hard, trapped in his boxers. He hooked his thumbs in the waistband and pushed them down.
Lena had a stopwatch in her hand now. “On my mark. Ready… go.”
Aidan shuffled forward. The head of his cock brushed against her. He felt her flinch, a tiny shudder through her hips. He pushed.
There was no resistance. Just a shocking, slick heat that enveloped him. She was so ready it felt like falling.
Sasha’s breath left her in a punched-out gasp. Her back arched, a sudden, violent bow. A high, thin sound escaped her clenched teeth as her body clamped around him, a series of frantic, pulsing contractions.
“Four seconds,” Lena noted, her voice flat. “Documented. Vocalization is a sharp exhalation followed by a sustained vocal fry. Minor tremors in the deltoids and quadriceps.” She was writing on a clipboard now, circling them like a shark.
Aidan was locked inside her, immobilized by the savage grip of her climax. He could feel every throb. It was embarrassing, how good it felt, how his own knees felt weak.
“Begin steady, rhythmic thrusting. Seventy percent depth. Moderate pace.” Lena’s instructions were clean, surgical.
Aidan pulled back and slid in again. A low moan rattled in Sasha’s chest. Her fingers clawed at the padded leather of the bench.
“There. Note the shift in vocalization. Deeper. Guttural.” Lena was right beside them now, observing the junction of their bodies. “Sasha. Report. Describe the transition from startle to acclimatization. In real time.”
“I can’t—” Sasha’s voice was broken.
“You can. You’re a professional. Report.”
Aidan kept moving, a steady, punishing rhythm. He watched her face, turned toward him, her eyes squeezed shut.
“The initial… penetration… triggers a system override.” The words came in jagged bursts, synced with his thrusts. “It’s—ah—it’s too much data. The shock is… the orgasm. It’s a circuit breaker. Then… then the thrusting… reboots the system… with the pain-pleasure protocols active. God. It doesn’t feel… unexpected anymore. It feels… inevitable.”
“Good,” Lena murmured. “Continue.”
Sasha’s body was learning the rhythm, meeting him. Another orgasm built, this one slower, a tide instead of a quake. Her moans lost words, became a continuous, desperate sound. Her hips started to push back against him, a filthy, perfect counter-rhythm. The betrayal was total.
“Second climax approaching,” Lena announced, as if calling a weather pattern. “Vocalization peaks. Lacrimation observed.” She was right. Tears were leaking from the corners of Sasha’s closed eyes, tracking through her temples into her hairline.
The wave broke. Sasha cried out, a raw, shaking sound, and her body went taut, then limp, only to be pulled back up by Aidan’s relentless motion. She was sobbing now, full, quiet sobs that shuddered through her and into him. Her earlier anger, her pointed embarrassment, it was all being fucked right out of her, replaced by a shattered, physical truth.
Aidan felt a savage, guilty kind of power. He was causing this. He was the variable breaking the equipment. He leaned over her, bracing one hand on the bench near her head. His own breath was ragged. “Sasha,” he grunted, the first word he’d spoken.
“Don’t,” she choked. “Don’t talk. Just… just finish it. Prove your fucking point.”
Lena stopped writing. She watched for a long moment, her head tilted. “Variable A. Increase pace to ninety percent. Full depth. She’s acclimatized. Let’s see if we can trigger a third. For science.”
Aidan obeyed. The sound changed. It was wetter, louder. The bench creaked. Sasha’s cries were muffled against her own arm. He could feel another one gathering in her, a deep, seismic event. He was close himself, a tight coil in his gut.
“It’s… it’s too much,” Sasha gasped, but her body was climbing again, her back arching deeper, pushing herself onto him with a frantic need. “I’m going to… I can’t stop…”
“Observe the abandonment of verbal coherence,” Lena said quietly, almost to herself. “The complete transition to physiological response. Data collection is… optimal.”
Sasha’s third orgasm wasn’t a peak. It was a plateau. A sustained, vibrating seizure of pleasure that seemed to have no end. She screamed, a ragged, glorious sound that echoed off the glass and steel of the office. Aidan felt his own control snap. He drove into her, hard and deep, and spilled inside her with a groan that was part relief, part despair.
For a minute, there was only the sound of their breathing, harsh and syncopated. The smell of sex was thick in the lavender-scented air.
Lena finally moved. She walked to the camera, pressed a button. A tiny red light blinked on. “Excellent,” she said, her voice returning to its normal, witty tone. “We got it all. The audio on this thing is fantastic. You can really hear the moment her thesis falls apart.” She smiled at Sasha, who was still collapsed on the bench, trembling. “We’ll edit out the crying. Probably.”
Sasha slowly pushed herself up. She didn’t look at either of them. She just shuffled to her pile of clothes, her movements loose and broken. She began to dress with the same methodical neatness, her face a blank mask.
Aidan pulled up his boxers, the fabric clinging unpleasantly. The guilt was back, cold and heavy in his stomach. He had proven the point. He had been the instrument.
“Session concluded,” Lena said, making a final note on her clipboard. “Sasha, your written analysis of the emotional parameters during this specific calibration is due by end of day. Focus on the dissonance between your spoken expertise and your… demonstrated capacity for repeated, overwhelming pleasure. Aidan, you’re with me after lunch. We’re workshopping a new reader question about performance anxiety. It seems… relevant.”
Sasha buttoned her blouse, her fingers steady now. She walked to the door, her head high. But as she passed Aidan, she paused. She didn’t look at him. Her voice, when it came, was a hoarse whisper only he could hear.
“Geological feature,” she said. Then she was gone, the door clicking shut behind her, leaving Aidan alone with Lena and the blinking red eye of the camera.
