Chapter 39: Triple Proposal

The rooftop garden was a vault of gold and shadow. Late sun spilled honey-thick over terracotta pots overflowing with jasmine and late-blooming roses. The air, high above the city’s murmur, was cool and carried the damp, spicy scent of turned earth and night-blooming lilies. Fairy lights, strung between pillars, began to glow like captive fireflies against the indigo bleeding into the west.

Naruto stood by the wrought-iron table, his heart thrashing against his ribs like a bird in a cage. The table was set with simple elegance: Ino’s favorite peonies in a low vase, Hinata’s delicate porcelain plates, the rich red of a wine Sakura had chosen. He’d cooked for days, practising Hinata’s recipes until his arms ached. But the food was now cold, forgotten.

His palms were slick. In the pocket of his tailored trousers, three small boxes were a leaden weight. The disparity in their sizes had demanded custom work—bands of white gold, each inset with a gemstone reflecting its intended wearer: a pink diamond, a blue sapphire, a pale lavender moonstone.

He heard them before he saw them, their voices a cascading melody weaving up the stairwell—Ino’s bright laugh, Sakura’s pragmatic murmur, Hinata’s soft, wondering tone. The garden door opened.

They flowed onto the roof, and the space, generous for anyone else, became intimate, filled with the breathtaking geography of them. Ino led, a vision in a sunset-orange sundress that clung to her toned, modelesque hourglass—each curve a deliberate sentence of beauty, her long ponytail swishing. Behind her, Hinata seemed to float in a gauzy lavender top that shimmered over her lovely, soft form, her small belly pouch a gentle curve beneath the fabric, her pale eyes wide with delight at the setting. Sakura entered last, ducking through the frame, her presence an exclamation. She wore a simple black dress that made her pink hair glow, the fabric stretching in awe over the phenomenal swell of her bust and the commanding sweep of her hips, a silhouette of majestic, womanly abundance.

“Naruto! This is incredible!” Ino breathed, her baby blues sweeping the scene. She strode forward, each step of her long legs covering ground he would need three steps to match. He had to tilt his head back, and back further, to meet her eyes as she stopped before him. From his perspective, she was a tower of warm, golden skin and soft fabric, her hips flaring just above the level of his eyes. “You did all this?”

“It’s so beautiful,” Hinata whispered, gliding to Ino’s side. Her lavender eyes shone, and she clasped her hands to her chest, an action that made her own considerable bust shift enticingly. She was slightly shorter than Ino, but to Naruto, it was a difference of astronomical degrees. Her gentle, curving form blocked out the twinkling city behind her.

Sakura came to complete the triangle around him, her smile soft. She placed a large, gentle hand on his shoulder, her fingers spanning the muscle there. “You’ve been planning this,” she said, no question in her tone. From where he stood, facing forward, he saw only the soft, black-clad monument of her midsection, the dramatic inward curve of her waist before the fabric exploded outward over her hips. If he took half a step, his face would be pressed into the soft warmth of her belly.

He was surrounded, enveloped by their scent—Ino’s sharp, floral perfume, Hinata’s vanilla and sugar, Sakura’s cherry blossom and clean cotton. He was a man in a canyon of loving, colossal femininity.

“I… I had something to say,” he began, his voice gravelly. He stepped back, creating a sliver of space, and dropped to one knee.

The movement was humble. Even on his knee, he only came up to the middle of their thighs. He was level with the captivating curves of their hips, the hems of their dresses. He had to crane his neck painfully to see their faces, their breast still obscured their faces which were now blurred by the gathering tears in his own eyes and the distant, glowing fairy lights haloed behind their heads.

He fumbled the boxes out, opening them in his trembling palm. The gems caught the last of the sun and the first of the fairy lights, winking up at the three giants who held his heart.

A choked sound came from Hinata, a hand flying to her mouth. Ino’s breath hitched. Sakura went perfectly still.

“Ino, Hinata, Sakura,” he started again, forcing the words past the lump in his throat. “You’re my best friends. You’re my home. You’re… you’re everything. I spend every day looking up at you, and not just ’cause you’re all ridiculously, stupidly gorgeous and tall.” A wet laugh escaped him. “I look up to you. Your strength, your kindness, your hearts. I know I don’t… I can’t ever match what you are. But I love you. All of you. So much it feels like my chest is gonna burst. I want to spend every single day of my life trying to make you happy, trying to be the man you deserve. Will you… will you marry me? All of me? Please?”

The silence lasted three heartbeats.

Then it shattered.

A combined cry, half joyous sob, half disbelieving shriek, tore from three throats. It was a sound of pure, unfiltered yes.

They moved as one, a tidal wave of softness and strength and love.

Ino was the first to reach down, her long arms sweeping under his, lifting him from his kneeling position as if he weighed nothing. Hinata’s hands, so gentle yet so vast, cupped his face from the other side. Sakura, with a reverent sigh, wrapped her arms around all of them, pulling the compact bundle of him into the deepest, most overwhelming embrace of his life.

He was suspended, crushed in the best possible way. Ino’s toned, warm body pressed against his left side, her bust a firm pillow against his arm. Hinata’s softer, yielding curves enveloped his right, her cheek resting on the top of his head. And Sakura… Sakura took the center, his face buried utterly into the profound, heavenly softness of her chest, the world reduced to warm, scented darkness and the thunderous, joyful rhythm of her heart.

“Yes, you ridiculous, wonderful man!” Ino cried, her words vibrating through him. She planted a fervent kiss on his temple.

“Yes… always yes,” Hinata sobbed, her tears falling, warm and heavy, into his hair.

“You’re ours,” Sakura murmured into his crown, her voice thick with emotion, her arms tightening possessively. “Of course we’ll marry you.”

They rained kisses down upon him—on his forehead, his cheeks, his nose, his lips. They came from above like benedictions, each pair of lips a soft, weeping promise. He was lifted, adjusted, held so tightly he could barely breathe, and he never wanted to be set down. He was a treasure held aloft by his three giants, lost in a forest of curves, his hands gripping whichever part of them he could reach—the silky fabric over Ino’s hip, the soft swell of Hinata’s side, the formidable curve of Sakura’s waist.

Finally, breathless and weeping with laughter, they lowered him, but only enough. Sakura sat first on the wide lounge chair, her hips spreading to fill it. She pulled him into her lap, his back against the incredible softness of her belly and bust. Ino immediately curled beside them, her long legs folding, her body leaning into his side, her head resting on his shoulder—which still put her face far above his. Hinata knelt on the floor before them, but even on her knees, her eyes were level with his. She took his hands, the rings glimmering, and began sliding them onto her own finger, then guiding him to put Ino’s on, then Sakura’s.

“How did you know our sizes?” Ino asked, admiring the sapphire on her finger, her large, elegant hand engulfing his as she held it.

“I… may have borrowed your other rings,” he admitted, his voice muffled against Sakura’s chest.

Hinata beamed, a radiant, confident smile he saw too rarely. “It’s perfect.”

The city lights below became a sprawling blanket of stars. The cicadas hummed. Nestled in the heart of his three fiancées, surrounded by their immense, loving forms, Naruto felt a peace so profound it ached. He was small. He would always be small compared to them. But in their arms, in their hearts, he occupied a space that was infinite.

Ino traced his jaw with a fingertip. “We’ll need a heck of a lot of fabric for three wedding dresses,” she mused, her eyes sparkling.

Sakura’s laugh rumbled through him, a deep, contented sound. “We’ll manage,” she said, her chin resting on his head. “He’s worth it.”

And as Hinata leaned forward to kiss him again, her soft, full lips meeting his with a tenderness that promised forever, Naruto knew, with every fiber of his being, that he was.
