Chapter 42: Office Inspection

The precinct hummed with its usual mid-morning malaise—the clack of keyboards, the low murmur of radio chatter, the smell of burnt coffee and cheap cleaning solution. Naruto was buried in a witness statement, his brow furrowed, when the atmosphere shifted. It wasn’t a sound he heard first, but a vibration he felt through the scuffed linoleum floor.

A hush fell, piece by piece, starting near the entrance and spreading like a wave through the bullpen.Typing ceased. Conversations died mid-sentence.

Naruto looked up just as three distinct, towering silhouettes eclipsed the fluorescent light streaming through the glass entry doors.

Ino led the way, a vision in a cream-colored pantsuit that had been expertly tailored to accommodate her dramatic frame. The jacket was unbuttoned, revealing a silk shell stretched taut over the generous slope of her bust, tapering to a cinched waist before flaring over hips that seemed to move with a separate, swaying rhythm. Her long legs, accentuated by the wide-leg trousers, ate up the distance with a model’s confident stride. A sleek ponytail of platinum blonde hair swished behind her. Baby-blue eyes scanned the room with amused, imperious curiosity.

Just behind her, Sakura’s broader shoulders filled the doorway. She’d opted for a dark green sheath dress, its fabric straining heroically across the monumental expanse of her chest and the lush, newly-acquired fullness of her hips. It was a testament to both modern textiles and her own formidable presence that the dress contained her at all. Every man and woman in the room stared, openly, at the sheer physicality of her. Her emerald eyes, sharp and intelligent, immediately found Naruto’s desk.

Hinata brought up the rear, a softer but no less arresting presence. She wore a comfortable lavender tunic and flowing trousers, the fabric draping gently over the lovely, soft swell of her belly and the exaggerated curve of her hips. Her movements were quieter, shy, but her height and proportions made subtlety impossible. Her long, dark hair was a silken cascade over her shoulders, framing a face currently flushed with the attention. She clutched a large, woven basket in front of her like a shield.

They moved through the paralyzed bullpen as if parting a sea. The female recruits—all formidable, muscular women trained for tactical response—gaped with something akin to awe. They were strong, but theirs was a lean, functional strength. The three women who now navigated the cramped aisles between desks embodied a different kind of power: lush, abundant, and utterly uncompromising.

Ino reached his desk first. She placed a perfectly manicured hand on the cheap metal surface and leaned forward. The neckline of her shell dipped, offering a breathtaking vista. “Hey there, Captain. Just thought we’d see where you spend all your time hiding from us.”

Her voice, a familiar, flirtatious chime, broke the silence. The precinct erupted in a frenzy of whispered speculation.

Sakura arrived at his other side. She didn’t bother with the desk. She simply moved behind his swivel chair. He felt her warmth first, then the immense, soft pressure of her stomach and breasts against his back and shoulders. Her hands, each capable of palming his entire head, came to rest on his shoulders, her fingers digging gently into the tension she found there. She leaned down, her pink hair brushing his cheek, her breath warm in his ear. “Your posture’s a disaster. Cervical strain waiting to happen. What’s this? A Knapp robbery report?” She was reading over his shoulder, her chin nearly resting on his head.

Before he could form a sentence, he felt a soft, yielding pressure against the front of the desk. Hinata had carefully placed the basket down, and in doing so, the soft, pillowy curve of her belly pressed against the metal edge, indenting gently. She gave a small, self-conscious smile, her pale lavender eyes looking down at him from what seemed like a mile away. “We… we didn’t want to interrupt. I just made too much curry bread. And there’s onigiri. I thought… your team might be hungry.” Her voice was a gentle ripple in the tense air.

Ino, seeing Hinata’s offering, grinned. With a fluid motion, she swung one long, endless leg over his chair, then the other. She settled herself sideways on his lap, but her height and proportions made it less an act of sitting and more an act of enveloping. Her thigh was a heavy, warm weight across his legs, her hip and side pressed against his chest. Her arm draped around his neck, her fingers playing with the short hairs at his nape. From the perspective of the stunned bullpen, it looked as if Naruto had been swallowed by a beautiful, blonde giantess in a pantsuit.

“Ooh, curry bread! You’re the best, Hinata!” Ino chirped, completely ignoring the thirty pairs of eyes locked on them. She shifted, and the movement ground her hip against him. She looked down at him, her face a mask of innocent affection. “Missed you this morning. You left before I could steal a proper goodbye kiss.”

Sakura snorted above him, her chest vibrating against his back. “He left because someone was hogging all the blankets and snoring like a chainsaw.”

“I do not snore!” Ino retorted, gently pinching Naruto’s earlobe. “He loves my snoring. It’s melodic. Right, Naruto?”

He was trapped in a fortress of flesh, perfume, and affection. He could see nothing but Ino’s torso, the fine weave of her suit, the incredible rise and fall of her breasts barely a foot from his face. Sakura’s presence at his back was an immutable fact, like a mountain range had decided to adopt him. Hinata’s soft, anxious energy radiated from the front.

“I, uh…” he started.

Hinata, seeking to be helpful, began unpacking the basket. As she bent forward, the neckline of her tunic gaped, and from his position—smothered in Ino’s lap—Naruto had an undeniable, breathtaking view down the front of her shirt, into the deep, shadowed valley between her ample breasts. She was entirely unaware, focused on arranging food containers on his already-crowded desk.

A tall, muscular female recruit with a severe haircut approached, her cheeks flushed. She was six feet tall and built like a sprinter. She looked tiny. “Excuse me, Captain? The, uh, Commissioner’s office called. They want an update on the Midtown surveillance logs by end of day.” Her eyes kept flicking to Sakura’s hands on Naruto’s shoulders, then to the impossible length of Ino’s leg dangling beside the chair.

“Thanks, Ayame,” Naruto managed, his voice slightly strangled.

Ino chose that moment to lean down, her body curving over his like a willow. She planted a slow, deliberate, smacking kiss on his lips, right in front of the recruit. “You work too hard,” she whispered, loud enough for others to hear. Her baby-blue eyes sparkled with mischief.

Ayame stammered something and retreated quickly, colliding with another recruit who was trying not to stare.

Sakura finally straightened up, removing the comforting weight from his back. “Alright, enough torture for the poor man. And his colleagues.” She reached out a hand and effortlessly plucked Ino off of Naruto’s lap, setting the blonde woman on her feet as if she were handling a doll. Ino pouted but smoothed her suit.

Hinata had finished arranging the food. “Please, everyone,” she said, her voice gaining a sliver of strength as she addressed the room. “Help yourselves. There’s plenty.”

For a moment, no one moved. Then the scent of fresh-baked bread and curry overcame their shock. A tentative line began to form.

Ino bent down—a long, graceful fold at the waist—and kissed the top of Naruto’s head. “We’re heading to the farmer’s market. Try to be home before midnight, yeah?” Her whisper was for him alone. “I want to try that new carry position. The one where you sit on my shoulders.”

Sakura gave his shoulder a final, firm squeeze that promised both massage and reprimand later. “Eat the onigiri with the fish filling first. It has the most protein.”

Hinata simply smiled that soft, radiant smile and touched his hand, her slender fingers enveloping his. “We love you,” she murmured, the words simple and devastating.

And then they left. Their departure was as impactful as their arrival. The three towering forms receded, their broad hips navigating the aisles, their heads brushing the ceiling-mounted signs. The bullpen doors swung shut behind them.

The silence held for a full five seconds before exploding into chaotic chatter.

Naruto sat in the eye of the hurricane, surrounded by the impossible scent of Hinata’s cooking and the lingering, distinct impressions of their bodies: the phantom pressure of Sakura at his back, the warmth of Ino on his lap, the softness of Hinata against his desk. His paperwork was hopeless.

A veteran detective, a grizzled man named Ibiki, sauntered over and snatched a curry bread. He took a huge bite, chewing thoughtfully as he stared at the doors.

“Uzumaki,” he grunted finally.

“Yeah?”

Ibiki shook his head, a rare grin tugging at his scarred mouth. “I’ve seen a lot. But that? That’s a tactical advantage I can’t even begin to categorize.” He clapped Naruto on the back, almost knocking the wind out of him. “Good luck, Captain.”

Naruto looked down at the witness statement, the words now a blur. All he could see was the faint, lingering lipstick mark Ino had left on the back of his hand, and the gentle indentation in the metal desk where Hinata’s soft belly had pressed. He picked up an onigiri, the rice still warm. The noise of the precinct faded into a distant buzz.

He was no longer just a captain in a precinct. He was the center of a gravity well, pulled in by three separate, massive, and loving stars. And for the first time, surrounded by the envious and astonished stares of his peers, he didn’t feel small. He felt singular. He took a bite, the flavors perfect, and knew he wouldn’t be staying a minute past five.
