Chapter 20: The Consecration of the Throne

The taste of Shiva was still a thin, bitter film on his tongue. Bruce stood at the sink in the medical bay’s annex, scrubbing his face with cold water until his skin felt raw. He avoided his own eyes in the mirror. The water couldn’t touch the deeper contamination, the one the blood scan had illuminated. It was in his cells now. He was compromised on a molecular level.

The blue surgical lights cast long, accusing shadows. The drone hovered in the corner, its lens a dull red now. Recording, or merely watching, he didn’t know. He felt its gaze like a physical weight.

“The lesson is for us both,” Shiva had said.

He understood now. The lesson was totality. No space was his own. No function was sacrosanct. The Cave, his sanctuary, had been turned into a theater for her will. The medical bay, a place of healing and analysis, was now a tableau of his submission.

He heard the whisper of fabric against the floor a second before her scent reached him. Not antiseptic. Jasmine, desert wind, and the subtle, expensive oil she used on her blades. Talia.

He didn’t turn. He braced his hands on the cool porcelain of the sink.

“My father believed discipline was the highest virtue,” her voice came, smooth as spilled ink. It filled the quiet room, supplanting the hum of machines. “But discipline imposed from without is merely architecture. The true structure must be built from within.”

Finally, he looked. She leaned against the doorway to the main bay, one shoulder pressed to the frame. She wore a simple, dark silk robe, tied loosely. It gaped at her chest, revealing the pale swell of her breasts, the shadows between them. Her hair was down, a cascade of black against the stark white wall. Her green eyes tracked him, missing nothing—the damp hair at his temples, the tight line of his jaw, the way his knuckles were white on the sink.

“Shiva is a pure instrument,” Talia continued, pushing off the frame and walking toward him with a predator’s liquid grace. “No conflict. No desire beyond the execution of purpose. You tasted that purity. Was it enlightening?”

“It was a violation,” he said, his voice gravel.

“Was it?” She was close now, within arm’s reach. She lifted a hand and traced a finger along the line of his throat where the scalpel had pressed. Her touch was feather-light, terrifying. “It felt, from my vantage, like a threshold being crossed. The last of your outdated propriety dissolving. You did not fight her. You performed. Competently.”

Her finger trailed down his chest, over the Kevlar-weave undersuit, to his belt. “You are a labyrinth, Bruce. But I have the thread. I see the path through you. It is paved with these surrenders.”

With a sudden, sharp tug, she undid his belt. The buckle clattered on the tile floor. Her hands were swift, efficient. She unzipped him, her knuckles brushing against the hard, tense flesh beneath his shorts. He sucked in a breath, a shudder of pure conflict arcing through him. His mind recoiled. His body, still humming with her biochemical mandate, responded with a traitorous ache.

“You are still hard,” she observed, her voice a low murmur. She didn’t sound pleased, just factual. “Your body knows its function. Your mind scurries behind, trying to catch up.”

She pushed the fabric down, freeing his cock. It stood thick and urgent in the cool air. She looked at it, then up at his face, a cruel smile touching her lips. “See? Honest.”

He said nothing. Words were useless here. They were tools she would take and use against him.

“On the table,” she commanded, nodding toward the central medical slab.

He didn’t move. It was a futile resistance, but he had to stake the claim.

Her smile didn’t falter. Her hand snapped out, not to strike him, but to grasp him firmly. Her fingers encircled the base of his cock, squeezing just shy of pain. “The table, Bruce. Or I call Shiva back in to hold you down while I take what is mine. The choice is one of dignity only. The outcome is identical.”

The threat was real. Shiva was likely just outside, a silent wraith waiting for the summons. The image of her detached face, the scalpel, flooded back. With a ragged exhale, he moved. He walked the few steps to the reinforced table and leaned back against it, the metal cold through his suit.

“Further. Lie back.”

He did. The table was unforgiving. The surgical lights blazed down on him, exposing him completely. He was splayed out like a specimen. Talia untied her robe, let it slide from her shoulders, and pool on the floor. She was naked, perfect and formidable. The soft light traced the sinewy muscle of her abdomen, the dark triangle of hair at the junction of her thighs. She climbed onto the table, straddling his hips, her knees pressing against his ribs.

She looked down at him, her hair curtaining their faces. “This is not for your pleasure,” she whispered. “This is a calibration. I am measuring the depth of your submission. You will not move. You will not speak. You will take what I give you. You will come when I allow it. Do you understand?”

He gave a single, tight nod. The animal part of him, the part she had nurtured and poisoned, was screaming to grab her, to flip her, to reclaim dominance in a violent surge. But the chain held. The chain of milk, of shame, of biochemical interloping. He was frozen.

She reached between her own legs, her fingers slipping through her folds. She was already wet. She coated herself, then positioned the head of his cock at her entrance. She kept her eyes locked on his as she sank down, taking him inside her with a slow, relentless descent.

He gritted his teeth. The heat and tightness of her was an exquisite shock. She was impossibly deep, seating herself fully until her hips met his. A low groan was torn from him. She clenched around him, a deliberate, muscular pulse.

“Good,” she breathed, beginning to move. Her rhythm was methodical, a deep, rolling grind of her hips. She used him, her hands braced on his chest for leverage, her head thrown back slightly. The clinical light played over the sweat-sheened column of her throat. “This is the shape of your new reality. You are a tool in my sheath. Feel it.”

Her pace quickened. The wet, slick sound of their joining filled the room, obscene against the sterile backdrop. She fucked him with a concentrated fury, each downward stroke meant to punish and claim. Her cunt was a hot, velvety vise, milking him, dragging him toward a climax he wasn’t permitted.

“You want to come,” she taunted, her voice hitching only slightly. “I can feel it. Your pretty cock is twitching inside me. Begging. But you will wait. You will wait until I say.”

Her own movements became more frantic, less controlled. Her breath came in sharp gasps. She was chasing her own end, using his body as the instrument to achieve it. Her inner muscles began to flutter wildly, a frantic ripple that pushed him to the very edge. He was drowning in sensation, the feel of her, the smell of her sweat and sex, the blinding light.

“Now,” she snarled, her body seizing up. “Come for me now, you fucking animal.”

It was not a permission. It was a detonation command. His control shattered. His hips jerked up off the table, driving into her as a raw, guttural roar tore from his throat. His orgasm slammed through him, violent and total, pumping his release deep inside her in hot, pulsing jets. She clenched around him, milking every drop, her own climax a silent, shuddering tremor that vibrated through both of them.

For a long moment, there was only the sound of their ragged breathing. She collapsed forward, her sweat-slick skin pressed against his. Her lips were at his ear.

“The biometric lock on the Cave’s mainframe,” she whispered, her voice drained of fury, pure and quiet. “The one keyed to your retinal and palm print. I have overwritten it. The permissions are now shared.”

She lifted herself off him, the separation brutal. She stood beside the table, looking down at him lying spent and exposed. His come leaked from her, down her inner thigh. A mark.

“Sleep, beloved,” she said, picking up her robe. “The next lesson begins at dawn. It concerns Gotham’s water supply.”

She left him there on the table. The drone’s light shifted from red to a soft, sleeping blue. He was alone, filled with her, the taste of Shiva still on his tongue, and the terrible, silent knowledge that the last door had just been closed. The Cave was no longer his. It was theirs. And she had the key.
